Patent number: 4583854Abstract: In a high resolution optical electronic imaging system to detect defects and dimensional changes in articles of manufacture for example, metal cutting tool inserts, a convergent blade-shaped laser light beam emitted by a laser passes through a focusing optical system and is then directed to a revolving head which contains a mirror system. The focusing and mirror system scans the apex of the blade beam along the cutting edges of an insert so that edge defects and dimensional changes cause reflection and refraction of the laser beam. High resolution and contrast television camera and optic system receives the reflections and refractions and creates an image of the device with sharply contrasted defects.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1983Date of Patent: April 22, 1986Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Boris Lozar

Patent number: 4569869Abstract: This invention relates to a saturated polyester bottle-shaped container and a method of fabricating the same from a material such as polyethylene terephthalate incorporating high transparency and superior mechanical surface strength. The hard coating is formed by the steps of coating an ultraviolet curable coating of methyl methacrylate resin on the surface of the body and irradiating ultraviolet rays over the surface of the body coated with the hard coating. Thus, the bottle-shaped container can largely enhance the wear resistance and extreme smoothness of the surface to eliminate dirt adherence onto the surface. In a second embodiment, an ultraviolet ray curable coating is coated onto the bottle, followed by a transparent resin coating which is cross linked with the ultraviolet ray curable coating.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1981Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Assignee: Yoshino Kogyosho Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hideo Kushida, Akikazu Kosugi, Hiromi Nagayama

Patent number: 4529615Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing self-supporting constructional elements by plasma-spraying onto a removable core.Recently, there is in widespread use the method of producing constructional elements, especially of heat-resistant elements of rotary shape, by plasma-spraying of ceramic oxides onto a removable core. Existing problems in the art are caused by the slow removal of an intermediate layer, which separates the deposited constructional element material from the core, in suitable solvents, and the necessary neutralization of the produced constructional element. These disadvantages are overcome by the method of the present invention characterized in that a core is preheated to a temperature in the range of from about 200.degree. C. to about 650.degree. C., a metallic or non-metallic intermediate layer having a thickness of about 0.1 to about 2 millimeters is deposited on the core by plasma-spraying.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1983Date of Patent: July 16, 1985Assignee: Ceskoslovenska akademie vedInventors: Karel Zverina, Petr Kroupa
