  • Patent number: 4836131
Abstract: A soldering machine for simultaneously applying liquid solder to opposite sides of the leads of a lead frame having I.C. devices thereon. The machine has sidewardly spaced roller assemblies which define a vertically extending narrow nip therebetween through which the lead frame assemblies pass. A solder bath is disposed below the roller assemblies so that lower portions of the rollers dip into the bath and carry a solder film to the nip for application to opposite sides of the leads. A passage extends upwardly in isolation from the bath for permitting the lead frame to be fed vertically upwardly into and through the nip.

  • Patent number: 4831962
Abstract: A device for transporting objects to be passed through treatment tanks indes two laterally spaced overhead conveyors between which each object moves along a path of travel at a distance from the vertical planes of the conveyors and pendulums freely suspended at the upper ends thereof by means of articulation members coupled with driving members provided respectively for each conveyor. The pendulums associated in a pair on each conveyor in the same plane of progression are provided at the free ends thereof with members for suspending carrier frames designed to support the objects to be treated. • Patent number: 4809641
Abstract: The basket is first moulded such that at the extremities of the lower parts 16 of the side walls 12 are provided supplementary volumes 36 into which the injection points 24 of the plastic material open. After moulding, the supplementary volume 36 are removed by cutting along a plane P in order to obtain the final article of the required size. The invention eliminates from the final article the injection traces and zones which contain internal tensions which can in turn cause cracks.

Abstract: A coating apparatus is disclosed for applying a coating material to the surface of a paper web. The coating apparatus includes a backing roll and an applicator roll which cooperates with the backing roll for defining therebetween a gap for the passage therethrough of the web. The backing roll and applicator roll counter-rotate at given speeds and a nip roll movably cooperates with the backing roll for defining therebetween a nip section. The nip section is disposed downstream relative to the gap such that the web extends progressively through the gap and through the nip section so that the coating material is applied to the surface of the web during passage of the web through the gap and nip section.

  • Patent number: 4802440
Abstract: A glue applicator for a labeling machine has the customary glue roller rotating about a vertical axis. A scraper blade is held adjacent the periphery of the roller to remove excess glue from the roller so that a label to which glue is transferred from the roller will not receive a coating of more than desirable thickness. Relatively small blade inserts provide the sharpened edges for scraping the excess glue from the roller. A support member is mounted to a carrier that swings about an axis parallel to the axis of the roller. The blade insert is clamped against the support member by means of a clamping member whose clamping force is developed by bolts that pass through the clamping member and are threaded into the support member. Eccentric elements are provided for adjusting the support member and, hence, the blade insert carried thereon to achieve a uniform and accurate gap between the scraping edge of the blade insert and the periphery of the roller.

  • Patent number: 4800836
Abstract: A liquid state resist is dropped to form a coating on a semiconductor substrate mounted on a rotary chuck disposed in a resist coating vessel in which a sealed solvent vapor atmosphere is created. An adjusting plate is provided in the coating vessel above the rotary chuck in a stationary or movable manner to weaken or substantially reduce a swirly flow of the solvent vapor which tends to occur in the coating vessel when the chuck is rotated. Thus a substrate coated with a resist film of uniform thickness is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4796560
Abstract: Solder paste is automatically applied to circuit boards, in predetermined amounts at predetermined positions by providing a plurality of holes in a nylon, "Delrin," "Teflon" or other plastic-metal plate, the holes being in a predetermined pattern, filling solder paste into the holes which are facing in an upward direction pivoting the plate over the circuit board, and ejecting the solder paste onto a circuit board. Conveniently the solder paste is ejected by pins mounted on a further plate and reciprocated in the holes. The position of the pins in the holes during filling determines the amount of solder paste filled into the holes.

  • Patent number: 4796557
Abstract: A vibration damper for use with an apparatus for applying liquid to both sides of a running web and then drying the web with an air drier. Vibrations induced by the air drier are damped by uniformly blowing air on both sides of the running web between the drier and the liquid application heads. Preferably, the gas ejection surfaces are stepped or tapered so allow larger vibration near the drier but to reduce the allowed vibration nearer the liquid application heads.

  • Patent number: 4796559
Abstract: The applicator roller (2) can be driven in both directions of rotation. For coating the web of material (3) in the counter-directional mode, a distributor roller (6) is brought up to the applicator roller. In that way it is possible for the film of liquid (1) to be taken from the same reservoir zone (5) as in the co-directional mode of operation. That saves shifting the metering roller (4) which remains at the same position both in the co-directional mode and in the counter-directional mode of operation.
