  • Patent number: 9372032
Abstract: The apparatus or “chiller” uses an upward stream of ambient air drawn through the upright housing to cool crumb rubber particles that are deposited into and fall through the housing. The chiller includes an upright chiller housing and an array of internal baffles disposed within the lower section of the housing. Crumb rubber deposited into the chiller housing falls through the upward air flow within the chiller housing and cascades around and through the baffle array before exiting the chiller. The baffle array inside the lower section of the chiller housing slows the fall of the crumb rubber, thereby increasing the dwell time through the chiller to provide enhanced cooling. The baffle array also creates a more turbulent air flow through which the crumb rubber falls. The rising turbulent air mass enhances the transfer of thermal energy from the falling crumb rubber.

  • Patent number: 9365092
Abstract: An assembly for a console of a vehicle including a main body, a first hook connected to the main body wherein the hook is positioned adjacent and spaced apart from a second hook. A duct member having an aperture connects to the first hook and the second hook. During installation of the duct portion the aperture is first angled and positioned over a first hook then rotated downwards over the second hook wherein the second hook includes a ramped portion. The duct portion is snapped into place and is secured tightly over both the first hook and the second hook. During installation and rotation of the duct portion over the first hook and the second hook, the first hook and the second hook resiliently bend towards each other in compression and are relaxed once the aperture is fully over the first hook and the second hook.

  • Patent number: 9352065
Abstract: Scent dispenser arrangement for dispersing fragrance into a HVAC system includes a flow sensor and a scent disperser assembly having a control module connected to the flow sensor and a canister for emitting a spray which is actuated by the control module. The flow sensor operates in response to air flow and creates an air flow dependent electrical signal transmitted to activate the control module of the spray disperser assembly. The scent disperser and flow sensor are arranged to allow the spray to be disbursed in selective locations in the HVAC system. An embodiment involves two scent disperser assemblies electrically connected in series which operate successively when the liquid in one disperser assembly is depleted or when one disperser assembly dispersers a predetermined number of sprays.

  • Patent number: 9346345
Abstract: A vent assembly is disposed within an interior space of a vehicle for opening and closing fluid communication between the interior space and an exterior of the vehicle. The vent assembly includes a housing defining a plurality of openings and a plurality of vanes disposed in the openings. An actuator mechanism moves the vanes between an open position and a closed position, and includes a shaped memory alloy (SMA) member for actuating the vanes between the open and closed positions. The SMA member is activated when a hatch of the vehicle is opened to move the vanes into the open position and thereby open fluid communication between the interior space and the exterior to alleviate excessive air pressure buildup during closure of the hatch.

  • Patent number: 9285135
Abstract: An appropriately treated flow of air is supplied to a room in an automatically executed pulsed operation, in which the air flow is alternately switched on and switched off. The air flow is switched off independently of the room usage state if the regulated room comfort variables lie within a respectively assigned comfort band. If at least one of the regulated room comfort variables lies outside the comfort band assigned to it, the flow of air minimized in respect of its volume is supplied to the room. This means that ventilators used for the exchange of air will be operated at the lowest possible speed, optimized in respect of time and thereby with high energy efficiency.
