  • Patent number: 6170365
Abstract: The socket wrench extension has an insertion member with a polygonal socket head having a lateral socket head surface. A receiving member with a polygonal socket is provided and a tube rigidly connects the insertion member and the receiving member. The locking member is moveably connected within the insertion member such that the locking element partially projects from the lateral socket head surface. The pressure transmission member is axially moveable in the tube. The pressure transmission member has a first and a second end. The first end serves as an actuation member for the pressure transmission member. The second end transforms the axial movement of the pressure transmission member, directed toward the insertion member, into an outward movement of the locking member. The receiving member has an axial bore and a guide sleeve which is inserted into the axial bore of the receiving member for guiding the first end of the pressure transmission member.

  • Patent number: 6167784
Abstract: A spanner includes first and second clamping members. The first clamping member has a handle portion and a first jaw portion with a pivot plate portion that has a first pivot hole formed through top and bottom surfaces thereof. The second clamping member has a second jaw portion and a pair of pivot lobes which cooperatively define a receiving space therebetween to permit the pivot plate portion to extend thereinto and which are formed with second pivot holes aligned axially with the first pivot hole. A pivot shaft extends through the first and second pivot holes for mounting pivotally the second clamping member on the first clamping member. A torsion spring is sleeved on the pivot shaft, and is disposed in the receiving space for biasing the second jaw portion to move toward the first jaw portion.

  • Patent number: 6164167
Abstract: A ratchet wrench is provided having an arcuate toothed pawl meshing with the ratchet gear of a socket driving member. A gear section engages the back side of the pawl to control the rotation direction of the socket driving member. By the ratchet gear forcing the arcuate toothed pawl against the circular recess, a great torsion force can be transferred to the socket driving member.

  • Patent number: 6162137
Abstract: A combination ball mark repair tool, golf club support and cigar cutter. The invention includes a prier for prying up ball marks which are depressions made particularly in golf greens by impacting golf balls. The prier includes a shank ending, in a pair of tines which are used to penetrate turf and pry up depressions in the turf. The prier is pivotally connected to an end of a handle for leverage, the handle defining a slot for retracting the prier. A push pin controls a detent which locks the shank in either a fully opened position or a fully retracted position. Depressing the push pin unlocks the shank. When the shank is unlocked, a torque spring urges the shank to pivot from its handle slot to its open position. The prier preferably has two tines to avoid damage to the turf. Inserting the tines into the turf at the edge of a ball mark and then pivoting the handle toward the surface causes the tines to raise the depressed turf, thereby repairing the ball mark.

  • Patent number: 6151992
Abstract: A self-pulling cork extractor having a guide and a corkscrew which may be stored entirely within the guide for compact and safe storage and transport. The corkscrew includes a worm having a sharp free end attached to a handle having downwardly and inwardly foldable end portions. The end portions are upwardly and outwardly extended and the corkscrew is positioned within the guide with the free end downwardly oriented for extraction of a cork, lateral movement of the corkscrew being limited by an aperture located at the top of the guide. For storage and transport, the end portions are downwardly and inwardly folded and the corkscrew inserted upwardly through the lower portion of the guide and retained completely therein. In the storage position, the sharp free end of the worm is positioned within the aperture at the top of the guide, thereby preventing the exposure of any sharp edges or points. A foil cutter is also integrally formed in the guide.

  • Patent number: 6142042
Abstract: Interlocking clamps for protective shields currently available generally allow detachment from one side only. An attaching-detaching tool of this invention, by contrast, is structured with a flat edge profile (13) having a thickness less than a spacing between a supporting surface (11) of an interlocking clamp and a frame rail (1) to which the interlocking clamp is mounted. Thus, the tool can be inserted in a gap (15) between the frame rail (1) and the shield (4) and a wrench recess (16) fitted about an angled lug (8) forming a first element (5) of the interlocking clamp on a side facing away from a second clamp element (10). Wedge-shaped jaws (18 and 19), forming outwardly acute angles (17), defining the wrench recess can be pushed between the angled lug (8) of the first clamp element and forked clamping lugs (6 and 7) of a second clamp element (10). The tool allows for easy detaching of a protective shield.

  • Patent number: 6138533
Abstract: A wrench apparatus includes a wrench head with a swivel adapter, a combination handle and extension bar attachable to the swivel adapter, and a ratchet head. The wrench head includes a tubular member with a longitudinal slot, and an internal C-shaped brace dividing the tubular member into two sockets at opposite ends thereof. One socket includes six sides and five points and the other socket includes twenty sides and ten points, so that both sockets can securely grip all six sides of a nut or bolt. The points of one socket are offset radially relative to the points on the other socket for providing smaller increments in repositioning freedom. The swivel adapter pivotally attached between a pair of ears on the wrench head by a removable pin, so that it can be removed and attached between a like pair of ears on the ratchet head.

  • Patent number: 6131495
Abstract: A tool includes two grips and at least one tool head. The grips can be opened to different extents so as to rotate the fixing pins of the grips relative to the openings of the tool head. Accordingly, the short sides of the fixing pins can be respectively aligned with the openings to permit the detachment of the grips from the tool head. Otherwise, the grips are stopped by the long sides of the fixing, pins from detaching from the tool head. The grips can be easily and quickly assembled with or disassembled from the tool head. In addition, the replacement of the tool head can be performed by hand without using any tool or switch. Also, the tool has fewer components which are not easy to miss.
