Abstract: A septic tank is constructed from top and bottom shells. The top and bottom shells are nestable within like top and bottom shells in order to allow greater numbers of septic tanks to be shipped one a cargo truck or railroad car. In a preferred embodiment, both the top and bottom shells have peripheral flanges that interlock together. The septic tank is assembled at its sight of intended use by placing the top and bottom shells together, inserting a gasket material between the interlocking peripheral flanges, and affixing a plurality of clips over the interlocking peripheral flanges to hold the top and bottom shells together. Preferably, the peripheral flanges serve the function of an integral antifloatation collar for the septic tank. The antifloatation collar increases the cross sectional area of the septic tank over which soil is applied, and allow the tank to be firmly held in the ground without the use of an anchor or ground screw.

Abstract: A junction box is provided having a housing and a cover. The housing includes a housing wall extending upwardly from a base about the periphery thereof. A lip extends outwardly about the top edge of the housing wall and engages in a snap fit in a channel in a wall of the cover. A pair of inner walls which depend from the cover top prevent the housing from inadvertently being disengaged.

Abstract: A trash container having a drum on a dolly. The drum, which is open at the top and bottom and includes openings along its surface, is positioned upon the dolly for easy moving and positioning. A trash bag liner is located within the drum such that when the liner is filled, the dolly is rolled to a disposal pick-up site. The drum is first lifted and the filled liner is then removed from the dolly. After depositing the liner, the drum is returned to the dolly. The drum shape is preferably in the form of a truncated square pyramid, a truncated rectangular pyramid, or a truncated cone, and in several embodiments of the invention, the drum has raised ribs extending longitudinally on its exterior surface to prevent stacked drums from adhering together.

Abstract: A container assembly having a lid and a container in which a double seal is formed between the lid and the container, one seal being formed on the upper edge of the container rim and the second seal on the upper internal wall of the container, said seals being mechanically locked to one another in an operative condition wherein, in addition, said assembly is stackable, some size nestable, different size nestable with lids off and different size nestable with lids on.

Abstract: Unitary beverage containers include a main body defining a container volume. A flexible conduit or straw is fluidly connected at a proximal end with the volume adjacent the bottom or top of the main body. The conduit or straw also includes a distal end which is preferably in the form of some shape of hollow mouthpiece having a central aperture therein with the mouthpiece is located adjacent the top of the main body. A connection or closing mechanism removably attaches a hollow member to the distal end of the flexible straw or conduit and closes the aperture of the distal end. The mechanism includes a short hollow bridge extending from the aperture at the distal end of the flexible straw or conduit which is broken during removal of the hollow member to uncover the aperture prior to use. The hollow member is otherwise isolated fluidly from the container volume. A indentation in which the mouthpiece and hollow member are received is provided at the top.

Abstract: An easy-opening closure for hermetic sealing of the open end of a packaging container includes an end member for being double-seamed to the open end of the container and having an interior ledge portion defining a large central opening and a composite lidding member of at least two polymer layers defining a predetermined peel strength at an interfacial plane for controlled delamination of the two layers. The composite lidding member covers the central opening and is bonded to the ledge portion to define a bond strength greater than the peel strength of the two polymer layers. The lidding member has a continuous ring-shaped notch cut into the bottom polymer layer adjacent the ledge portion and a discontinuous ring-shaped notch cut into the top polymer layer and spaced inwardly from the first notch to define a small unnotched portion between its ends and to define with the first notch a ring member therebetween which is connected at the unnotched portion to the central portion of the lidding member.

Abstract: A double-walled barrel and method of manufacture including a cylindrical rel jacket with a first set of corrugations, having a top with barrel openings and a bottom attached to the cylindrical barrel jacket by a first set of folds forming an outer barrel. A steel container with an inner top with barrel openings and an inner bottom attached to the container by a second set of folds forming an inner barrel. The inner barrel is configured and dimensioned to closely fit within the outer barrel. The inner top is joined to the top.

Abstract: The invention relates to a container having first and second sections with at least one handle portion on each container facing each other in superimposed relationship to form a container and a latch mechanism associated with at least one handle for providing a preseal in the container by forcing the first and second sections toward each other in sealing arrangement and for maintaining the seal.

Abstract: A metal flexible finger ferrule is provided for holding a dispensing device to the top of a flanged opening of a container. The ferrule includes a plurality of flexible fingers shaped to fit ground the flange of the container and also shaped to frictionally engage a surrounding retaining collar.

Abstract: A computer-printable laminated diskette envelope form is disclosed which has two paper sheets secured by adhesive. Multiple structures are defined by patterns imperforated in the form and include a diskette envelope of novel tapered shape for easy insertion of a diskette and better wear as well as several labels such as a diskette identifier, a customer order label and the like. A pattern for the diskette envelope includes a print area for a directory listing of files stored on the diskette. A customized software utility interacts with the diskette and the envelope form controlling printing of the directory listing and providing a variety of options to users.

Abstract: Apparatus for engaging interlocking apertures provided on the bottom of intermodal cargo containers to permit vertical stacking of the containers. The apparatus is in the form of integrated interbox connectors movably connected to the containers and positionable between in a stored position situated within the walls of the container and a connecting position situated on top of the roof of the container to engage the interlocking apertures of a vertically adjacent container. A pin is provided for securing the interbox connectors situated in the connecting position to said interlocking apertures provided on the bottom of said vertically adjacent container.

Abstract: An improved drum bottom for facilitating the emptying of drum containers. This invention allows for increased removal of drum contents. This drum bottom employs a sloped channel for drainage of the contents of the drum into a well for removal by a pump.

Abstract: A baffle or dividing wall 13, 14 disposed in a tank is connected to the inner wall of the tank jacket 10 via a ring 15, 21 of triangular profile. The outer diameter of the intermediate wall is significantly smaller than the inner diameter of the tank so that the wall may be readily inserted into the tank. One leg 16 of the proHie ring 15 forms an extension of the curvature of the intermediate wall 13, whereas the other leg 17 closes the gusset-type region between the convex side of the intermediate wall 13 and the tank jacket 10.

Abstract: An improved beverage can is provided, and has a top wall, a bottom wall, and a side wall extending between and being integrally connected to the top and bottom walls. The side wall has opposing curved portions and opposing flattened or concaved portions. The flattened or concaved portions are oriented for gripping by person's thumb and fingers. One of the flattened or concaved portions is positioned below an opening in the top wall of the can such that the can is automatically oriented for drinking or pouring when grasped by a person. A circular ridge is provided adjacent the top and bottom walls of the can such that the can is rollable along a surface or track. The flattened or concaved portions also provide an advertising panel for the beverage manufacturer or distributors.

Abstract: A bag and system for dispensing configured to minimize the probability of stress fractures in the dispensed bag, and tearing associated therewith, while providing a system which leaves no "throw away" product on the rack after dispensing a bag stack, as the present system has no central tear-off tab. The present system teaches the utilization of reinforced, radially configured handle support slits to provide an opening for allowing the passage of a horizontal handle support member therethrough, the support slits further configured to provide maximum opening of the bag mouth for easier loading, and easier placement of the bag pack upon the rack. Unlike prior art systems, the radial slit of the present invention is configured to easily spread apart to receive the handle support member, without tabs or folds formed therein.

Abstract: This invention is directed towards a means and method for interconnecting containers into structures, such as toys, displays or furniture as well as to provide packaging alternatives. The invention particularly relates to modifying a conventional sixpack of beverage cans so as to form the aforesaid structures without the use of additional components. Beverage cans are specifically utilized as said containers. The containers themselves have been modified such that they may be fastened together in a vertical manner without requiring any collars or other types of independent connecting means. "Connectors" have been provided for connecting the cans together in a side by side relationship. The interconnected containers form functional or promotional structures or a combination thereof as well as providing for packaging alternatives. Consequently, this serves as both a conservation and marketing aid.

Abstract: A canteen for children whose structure incorporates a drinking straw that also functions as a stopper. The canteen includes a cylindrical container for the liquid to be dispensed and a removable cover which is screwed onto the rim of the container and is provided with an off-center coupler. One end of the coupler projects from the underside of the cover to form a lower nipple to which is attached a long dip tube that extends into the container. The other end of the coupler projects from the top side of the cover to form an upper nipple to which is attached a short, flexible mouth tube, which in combination with the dip tube functions as a drinking straw. Mounted over the cover is a dome having a slot therein, the dome being turnable with respect to the cover from a drinking mode position in which the mouth tube then projects upwardly through the slot, to a sealing mode position in which the mouth tube is bent under the dome and is pinched at the bend so that it now acts as a stopper to seal the container.

Abstract: Total and immediate closure device which can be fitted on various containers, in particular bottles, tubes and jars, whether rigid or flexible, includes a hood (10) made of an elastic deformable material which can be fitted on the mouth (21) of a container (2). Hood (10) is pierced axially with an opening (11) into which there is tightly inserted a cylindrical body (22) an end of which is located inside of the container (2) penetrating into the opening (21) thereof and is rigidly fastened to the inner part (24) of said container (2) so as to provide a space along the outside of body (22) for the passage of the contents (23) from the said container (2).

Abstract: An interlocking plate and cup set for use in casual dining so that one can hold a plate and cup with one hand. The plate and cup mate together so that the cup will be securely held to the plate and so that the mated combination can be placed on and removed from a flat surface without separation. The plate is generally flat and has an upper surface with a raised circumferential edge (12) for restraining food. The upper surface of the plate also has a cup-holding support (20) comprising a slot (24) extending in from the edge of the plate. The slot terminates in a concave cup-support area (22). The cup has a relatively broad base (30), a relatively narrow stem (32) extending up from the base, and a relatively broad liquid-holding body portion (34) extending up fro the stem. The body portion has a convex bottom surface (42) facing downward which is shaped to mate with the cup-support area in the plate.
