Abstract: Capped 1,2-propylene terephthalate-polyoxyethylene terephthalate polyesters useful as soil release agents are disclosed. Preferred polyesters have the formula: ##STR1## wherein each R.sup.1 is a 1,4-phenylene moiety; the R.sup.2 are essentially 1,2-propylene moieties; the R.sup.3 are essentially the polyoxyethylene moiety--(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.q --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --; each X is ethyl or preferably methyl; each n is from about 12 to about 45; q is from about 12 to about 90; the average value of u is from about 5 to about 20; the average value of v is from about 1 to about 10; the average value of u+v is from about 6 to about 30; the ratio u to v is from about 1 to about 6.
Abstract: Electroactive organic polymeric materials of poly(heterocycle diyl methylenes) containing alternating heterocyclic conjugated segments of varying sizes and methylene or substituted methylenes in the main chain and random copolymers of such poly(heterocycle diyl methylenes) together with a method of making them are disclosed.
Abstract: The invention is directed primarily to a method of doping tin oxide with Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 and/or Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5 using pyrochlore-related compounds derived from the system SnO--SnO.sub.2 --Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 --Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5 for use in thick film resistor compositions. The invention is also directed to thick film resistors containing the above-described pyrochlore-related compounds and to various compositions and methods for making such thick film resistors.
Abstract: A bleach particle is provided whose core is an intimately dispersed agglomerated mixture of a halogen bleaching agent, an inorganic phosphate salt and a binder with melting point 85.degree. to 120.degree. F. In the preferred composition there is present dichloroisocyanurate, sodium tripolyphosphate and lauric acid, respectively. These core particles have a uniform round shape, are of high strength and obtainable in good yields.

Abstract: A copper-type conductive coating composition which comprises:(A) a copper powder with hydrogen loss of at most 0.2% by weight or a copper powder with its oxidized surface layer removed by treatment with an organic carboxylic acid,(B) a coating binder resin, and(C) an antioxidant selected from triazoles represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein Y is a hydroxyl group, a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl group or a halogen atom, and a is an integer of 1 to 3, and trithiophosphites represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein each of R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.30 alkyl group or an allyl group.
Abstract: The production of thermoplastics by polymerization of olefins in the presence of light metal non-ferrous metal or alloys thereof by means of a heterogenous Ziegler-Natta catalyst is taught. Preferably, the polyolefin is crosslinked in regions thereof adjacent the metal particles. The product resins can be employed either alone or as a component of a polyblend with other polymers for the purpose of achieving heat removal with simultaneous electrical insulation in electronic and electrical engineering applications.
Abstract: This invention relates to composites comprising exfoliated graphite flakes in a polymer matrix which constitutes a small volume fraction; the density of the composite is 0.7 g/cm.sup.3 or below and the electrical resistivity of the composite is 0.5 ohm.cm or below. This invention also relates to composites comprising exfoliated graphite flakes bound by a polymer, such that the flakes are preferentially oriented. In addition, this invention relates to a process for producing these composites.

Abstract: An anisotropically electroconductive adhesive which is solid at room temperature, preferably, in the form of a film is prepared by dispersing conductive particles such as metal particles and the like in a thermoplastic insulating adhesive composition comprising an unvulcanized thermoplastic elastomer such as a styrene-based elastomer and a crosslinked synthetic rubber and/or thermoplastic elastomer as a vulcanizate derived from an unvulcanized synthetic rubber or thermoplastic elastomer using a vulcanizing agent such as organic peroxides. The conductive adhesive is useful in adhesively bonding, for example, two electronic circuit boards without disadvantages of instability of the electric resistance, inconvenience in the application and so on.
Abstract: An aqueous acidic solution for cleaning fiberglass without significant discoloration of the surface thereof comprising a water-soluble organophosphonic acid and/or a water soluble acrylic acid polymer, in combination with a higher (alkyl)betaine surfactant and, optionally an amount of alkaline pH modifying substance effective to adjust the pH to a value within the range of about 3.0-7.0. The preferred (alkyl)betaine is lauramidopropyl betaine. Cleaning results are optimized when the acrylic polymer and organophosphate are combined in a cleaning composition having a pH of about 3.5-4.5.

Abstract: This invention comprises improved novel aqueous gel compositions, and devices and methods for preparation of such compositions. Abstract: A block-form detergent free of alkali metal hydroxides for use in dishwashing machines which contain from 65 to 85% by weight to a mixture of anhydrous sodium metasilicate and anhydrous pentasodium triphosphate in a ratio of from 1:1 to 1:2 and from 0.2 to 4% by weight of uniformly distributed active chlorine donors which are, for example, trichloroisocyanuric acid. The production process comprises heating sodium metasilicate to 45.degree. to 55.degree. C. to obtain a clear melt and then adding other constituents, the pentasodium triphosphate and the active chlorine donor being added last, and pouring the melt into flexible molds in which it is left to solidify into blocks. The detergents are stable for storage with good dissolving power.
