Abstract: A repeatable use valve in a tennis ball that uses a common sports ball inflation needle inserted into and through the valve to increase or decrease the pressure inside the ball. The increase or decrease in pressure will cause the ball to have respectively higher or lower bounce. The valve can be installed in new tennis balls at the time of manufacture. The valve can also be installed in used tennis balls, including used tennis balls that have lost some or all of their original factory pressure.
Abstract: This is the embodiment of the net apparatus used in sports and in the non-sports arenas. This net's frame supports an inner net framed matrix that connects and pivots a rear frame for an adjustable triangular-shaped lean to control the trajectory of the ball or object. The net is designed to rebound balls or objects with high energy even at side angles to return the ball to the sender. The net is also designed to minimize stress to both net and frame when a ball or object contacts the net.
Abstract: An oil well improvement system having an intrusion detection and response subsystem that provides practical capability to defend offshore drilling platform from surface or subsurface terrorist threats/attacks utilizing modified low-cost off-the-shelf equipment and processor programs. The subsystem processes acoustical and/or RF sensor data to determine contact positions, rates, projected future positions, identification, threat analysis and recommends appropriate soft/hard kill counter measures and further provides control of those countermeasures.
Abstract: A method and system of displaying an autograph of the artist(s) of their song(s) on an electronic device and a method for customers to resell autographed MP3/MP4 type music files and the like.
Abstract: A unique adjustable guttering anti-warping anti-sagging safety-truss gate comprises corner gutters to drain rain water, body gutters to drain rain water, extension tubes having multiple built-in tunnel systems to drain rain water, struts having multiple built-in tunnel systems to drain rain water, and vertical tubes having multiple built-in draining-hole systems to drain rain water down to the ground. Further, the unique gate comprises multiple ridge systems built into the extension tubes to strengthen the unique gate, and multiple spring systems built into the vertical tubes to strengthen the unique gate and to absorb impact forces, warping forces, twisting forces, and sagging forces exerted on the unique gate during its lifespan. The corner gutters, body gutters, and vertical tubes are welded to one another to create the frame of the unique gate.
Abstract: A latching or release mechanism in which the insertion force can be different from the removal force. Furthermore, the said latching or release mechanism will automatically release upon applied removal force. The latching or release mechanism additionally can be readily adapted for use as a fluid coupler or as a pass-through latch.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the treatment of injuries or pain associated with the head or central nervous system. The present embodiment utilizes a head covering that is activated to produce an endothermic reaction to draw heat from, or apply cold to, the head and central nervous system. Layers are used to accomplish different applications and colors are used to associate with selected sport teams colors or camouflaged as may be required in a battlefield environment.

Abstract: The pipeline protection system includes a plurality of modules and a central control unit. The modules are adapted to be disposed circumferentially around the pipeline and capable of communicating to each other and with the central control unit to generate a plurality of real time data related to the pipeline. The modules are retrofittable configuration that includes sub-modules. Each sub-module includes top and bottom protective casings, and at least one flexible composite layer disposed between the top and bottom protective casings. The flexible composite layer includes an electronic circuitry embedded thereon, and a plurality of sensors coupled to the electronic circuitry to monitor a plurality of parameters associated with the pipeline. The plurality of sensors is configured to generate various real time data, such as pipeline leakage, predict future leakage or failure, and detect any attempt to theft or tempering in the pipeline.
Abstract: A device for retaining a printed circuit board module in a mounting groove of a cold plate, the device comprising an elongated housing made of metal, which has a cross-section in the shape of a horizontal U. A pressure piece made of metal is mounted in the housing so as to be displaceable transversely relative to the rotational axis of the housing and comprises a flat clamping surface on the front side. A rotary cylinder can be rotatably mounted in the housing so as to be transversely displaceable relative to the rotational axis. During a rotation, eccentric guide elements can be used to effect a forward displacement of the rotary cylinder. The pressure piece follows the displacement of the rotary cylinder and slides outward. The waste heat of the printed circuit board module is transported via the housing and the pressure piece to the cold plate.
Abstract: A connector assembly to fasten two members. The connector assembly includes an elongate fastener with an end for insertion into one of the members and a transverse aperture having at least one countersunk surface with an apex substantially aligned coaxially with the transverse aperture. The connector assembly also includes a grub screw insertable into the other member along a transverse axis substantially at the predetermined spacing from the shaped end. The connector assembly further includes a nipple formed onto one of the grub screw, the nipple being placeable into the transverse aperture for movement down the countersunk surface towards the apex thereof. The fastener moves with respect to the other member and brings the two fastened members closer together. The connector assembly also includes a housing for positioning the grub screw into the transverse aperture of the fastener, the housing having opposing apertures to allow the fastener to pass therethrough.
Abstract: An array of retractable shields is employed for closing an exposed opening through which the snow enters into a receiver. A piston-like object, which is empowered by a compressed spring and is moving at high speed, makes an impact on the snow with great force. The snow is finally ejected from a chute. The receiver can be lifted higher to clear the snow at a different height from the ground. Alternatively, a snow lifting unit is used to ferry the snow higher for free fall into the receiver for further processing. Belt and chain driven devices employing a plurality of collector elements are employed. An impact force produced by a rapid flow of compressed air also forces the snow out from a confined enclosure.
Abstract: A glueless shaft joining system, apparatus and method are disclosed. A base insertable into the hollow interior of the shaft can include a plurality of flexible fingers separated by a slot defined between each of the adjacent flexible fingers. The interior of the base is hollow and includes a threaded portion adjacent to the distal end that extends inwards in a proximal direction. A set screw can be inserted into the threaded portion of the hollow interior of the base. The set screw includes a threaded head portion and a non-threaded tail portion that diverges as it extends away from the head portion. The tail portion deflects the flexible fingers laterally outwardly as the set screw is advanced in the proximal direction through the base. A component, such as a broad head or arrow nock can be coupled to the insert as desired.
Abstract: To make secondary anchoring of small boats quick, safe, versatile, a low cost buoyant apparatus with an attached tripping strap has been invented to permit transport of a secondary anchor to its holding location. The invention, in addition serves to prevent excessive boat swings once anchored in restricted anchorage, and can also serve as a marker in the event that an earlier anchored boat needs to move and return to the same spot. This buoyant apparatus is very versatile; it can be used from the boat's bow, from the stern, and also as a lunch hook. Although the buoyant ring has an appearance of a life preserver, it is not intended for that use, and does not qualify as U.S. Coast Guard or Sheriff Regulation safety equipment.
