  • Patent number: 9719544
Abstract: A glueless shaft joining system, apparatus and method are disclosed. A base insertable into the hollow interior of the shaft can include a plurality of flexible fingers separated by a slot defined between each of the adjacent flexible fingers. The interior of the base is hollow and includes a threaded portion adjacent to the distal end that extends inwards in a proximal direction. A set screw can be inserted into the threaded portion of the hollow interior of the base. The set screw includes a threaded head portion and a non-threaded tail portion that diverges as it extends away from the head portion. The tail portion deflects the flexible fingers laterally outwardly as the set screw is advanced in the proximal direction through the base. A component, such as a broad head or arrow nock can be coupled to the insert as desired.

  • Patent number: 9708036
Abstract: To make secondary anchoring of small boats quick, safe, versatile, a low cost buoyant apparatus with an attached tripping strap has been invented to permit transport of a secondary anchor to its holding location. The invention, in addition serves to prevent excessive boat swings once anchored in restricted anchorage, and can also serve as a marker in the event that an earlier anchored boat needs to move and return to the same spot. This buoyant apparatus is very versatile; it can be used from the boat's bow, from the stern, and also as a lunch hook. Although the buoyant ring has an appearance of a life preserver, it is not intended for that use, and does not qualify as U.S. Coast Guard or Sheriff Regulation safety equipment.

  • Patent number: 9694248
Abstract: A system for measuring and displaying the pressure of conventional American-style footballs in real time to game officials and spectators continuously. In one preferred embodiment, at least one pressure transducer device is disposed inside the football. The pressure transducer is an electrical oscillator. The frequency of oscillation is a known mathematical function of the bladder pressure. At least one pressure readout device is positioned externally to the football at the outside of the cover-liner. The pressure readout device wirelessly stimulates the pressure transducer device to oscillate. The pressure readout device reads the frequency of oscillation and calculates the value of the pressure. In another preferred embodiment, the value of the football's pressure is measured by physical contact with a Durometer. Both embodiments display the pressure to game officials locally; and transmit the value of the football's pressure to spectators remotely.

  • Patent number: 9664222
Abstract: The connector is intended for use in displays of the kind which include a display frame formed of a plurality of beams) which are joined together by multi-way node fittings to form a three-dimensional shape, and display panels are releasably secured to the beams. The connector includes a male fitting which has a stem projecting from a plate, and a head comprising four noses which project laterally from the stem. The head is inserted in a correspondingly-shaped aperture of a female node fitting and rotated into positive engagement with the inner face of the node fitting. The trailing faces of the four noses have oppositely-inclined ramps which act to provide progressive tightening and alignment of the connector as the male part is rotated within aperture.

  • Patent number: 9605869
Abstract: A radon exhaust system comprising a cylindrical shaped vent housing, diagnostic filter fan housing, inline fan with redirecting vanes, ice filter, observation windows, access opening and closure cap, air flow indicators, water gutter, drain spout and an enlarged elliptical bulge area for additional air passage through the fan housing. The inline fan, located within the elliptical bulge, pumps radon laced air into redirecting vanes, which directs same air through exhaust side and out through expanded exhaust openings of the vent housing. Additionally, redirecting vanes protect the fan from falling ice which may be formed on the ice filter located above the fan. Water is prevented from entering the fan by a water gutter and drain. Observation windows allow visual interior monitoring without entering the fan housing. An access opening with closure cap allows interior maintenance, testing and off venting. These embodiments combine to protect radon systems from damage.

  • Patent number: 9604377
Abstract: When two conventional safety razor double-edged blades are superposed on top of each other, there is no space in between them to pass the shaving residues. The presently invented safety razor double-edged blade is equipped with several spaced protuberances on its surface. When two of these present invented blades are overlapped, there is a space between them to pass the shaving residues to be rinsed away by running water. Therefore two, three or more of them can be superposed on a single razor blade holder to allow the user to experience all the benefits of a multi-blade razor cartridge in a safety razor blade system.

  • Patent number: 9581000
Abstract: A pressure compensating system that minimizes the pressure differences across multiple shaft seals in a rod driven downhole pumping apparatus. The system balances the pressures across the seals by forcing the external pressure of all seals and compensators to be equal to the highest external pressure in the apparatus, made possible by the appropriate use of labyrinth-type seals. A bleed valve assembly which allows free flow of fluid into the pressure compensating system, but restricts the rate of fluid outflow from the system in case of shut-in of the pump, to limit the potential of rapid opening and closing of the mechanical shaft seals.

  • Patent number: 9562553
Abstract: A device includes first and second inter-engageable parts, each having a longitudinal axis and a connecting face extending substantially transversely to the longitudinal axis. The first part has an engagement formation extending substantially axially and the second part has a receiving formation extending substantially axially, and in which the engagement formation is receivable. The engagement and receiving formations each includes a substantially helicoidal surface extending at least partially around the longitudinal axis of the respective part of the connector, so that rotation of the parts relative to one another about the longitudinal axes, when the parts are substantially co-axially aligned, so that the connecting faces of the parts face one another in a substantially axial direction, causes engagement of the engagement formation with the corresponding receiving formation.
