  • Patent number: 9769815
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of receiving a downlink signal by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes the steps of: receiving information indicating usage change of a first sub-frame, which is a special sub-frame, into a downlink sub-frame; and decoding a control channel from the usage-changed sub-frame, using a first radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) and a second RNTI, wherein the UE assumes that data exists in a DwPTS area from among resource areas indicated by the control channel when the decoding using the first RNTI is successful.

  • Patent number: 9749992
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for a user equipment (UE) to provide feedback in a multi-site scheduling system (e.g., a system where multiple entities may schedule and/or send data to the UE). For example, the UE may receive a first data from a first network entity and a second data from a second network entity. A network entity may include entities that transmit data and/or control information to the UE, e.g., an eNodeB (eNB). The UE may generate feedback relating to received data, such as ACK/NACK information or channel state information (CSI). The UE may send a first feedback relating to the first data in a first subframe and a second feedback relating to the second data in a second subframe.

  • Patent number: 9749246
Abstract: Datalink frames or networking packets contain protocol information in the header and optionally in the trailer of a frame or a packet. We are proposing a method in which part of or all of the protocol information corresponding to a frame or a packet is transmitted separately in another datalink frame. The “Separately Transmitted Protocol Information” is referred to as STPI. The STPI contains enough protocol information to identify the next hop node or port. STPI can be used avoid network congestion and improve link efficiency. Preferably, there will be one datalink frame or network packet corresponding to each STPI, containing the data and the rest of the protocol information and this frame/packet is referred to as DFoNP. The creation of STPI and DFoNP is done by the originator of the frame or packet such as an operating system.

  • Patent number: 9729376
Abstract: Provided is an OFDM reception apparatus that can reduce, even in an environment where the influence of noises is strong, this influence of the noises, thereby improving the precision of detecting a carrier frequency error. In this apparatus, a filtering unit (151) receives received signals each including a short preamble (STF) in which a plurality of pilot subcarriers are intermittently arranged in the frequency domain and repeatedly arranged in the time domain, and the filtering unit (151) attenuates the frequency components between respective two adjacent ones of the plurality of pilot subcarriers in the frequency domain. A correction unit (154) corrects a carrier frequency error of the received signal on the basis of the signals of the plurality of pilot subcarriers having passed through the filtering unit (151).

  • Patent number: 9723511
Abstract: Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a mobility management node and SGW or Gn/Gp-SGSN, and corresponding methods therein, for downlink data buffering in a wireless communications network. Such buffering is useful when the wireless device is in a power saving state e.g. PSM or eDRX. Thus, since the downlink data is buffered, there is no longer a need for multiple Downlink Data Notifications to be sent.

  • Patent number: 9717072
Abstract: Method performed by a first device for sending a modified encoded radio block to a second device. The first device and the second device operate in a wireless communications network. The first device selects a set of bit positions of an encoded radio block that has the second device as intended recipient. The set of bit positions is unique to a value of an extended Temporary Flow Identifier, eTFI, assigned to the second device, or the set of bit positions is unique to a case in which no eTFI has been assigned to the second device. The first device performs a modulo-2-addition of the selected set of bit positions of the encoded radio block with a pre-determined bit pattern, to obtain a modified encoded radio block. The first device sends the modified encoded radio block to the second device.

  • Patent number: 9661583
Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment of the present invention, a reference signal including pilot information is transmitted from a base station to one or multiple field units over a pilot channel. A message is also sent to the field units over a paging channel to indicate an effective radiated power level at which the reference signal is transmitted on the pilot channel. Based on a received power level of the reference signal at a field unit and the effective radiated power level of the reference signal, a forward path loss is estimated at the field unit for the forward link between the base station and field unit. Assuming the path loss in the reverse link is approximately the same as the estimated forward link path loss, the field unit can transmit, a reply message in the reverse link so that the base station generally receives a message at-a desired power level.
