Abstract: In a closed-loop garbage collection system a comparator receives a first target time indicating when a first superblock of memory is expected to be filled based on a first write rate for a first write cursor writing data units into the first superblock. The comparator further receives a negative loop feedback based on one or more elements from the garbage collection process. The comparator determines a first garbage collection rate based on the first target time and the negative loop feedback, where the first garbage collection rate is calculated to provide a free empty superblock to the first write cursor within a range of time of the first target time. The comparator sends instructions to a garbage collection manager to perform a garbage collection process at the first garbage collection rate, wherein an outcome of the garbage collection process is incorporated into the negative loop feedback sent to the comparator.

Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting and sorting summaries of alerts triggered by search queries in data aggregation and analysis systems. An example method may comprise: causing, by one or more processing devices, one or more alert summaries to be displayed, each alert summary corresponding to an alert and representing one or more instances of the alert, the alert defined by a search query and a triggering condition; wherein an instance of the alert corresponds to a particular dataset that (i) is generated by executing the search query over time-series data falling within a particular time range in a set of time ranges over which the search query has been instructed to search, and (ii) satisfies the triggering condition for the alert; wherein an alert summary includes an indication of at least one of: a total count of alert instances generated by the alert, or a count of alert instances generated by the alert that have not been viewed by a user.

Abstract: A system and method for notifying a process about a creation or removal event of a named data element (NDE) in a coordination namespace distributed memory system. A controller runs methods to: generate a tuple corresponding to data generated by a requesting process, the tuple having a tuple name and data value; and generate a notification indicator in a pending notification list to indicate to one or more processes a notification of the creation or removal event associated with the corresponding tuple. Upon detecting the event performed on the tuple by a second process, the method further searches for NDEs in the distributed memory system having the same tuple name, and in response to determining an existence of an associated pending notification record in a pending notification list of records, notify each corresponding process of the one or more processes indicated in the list of the creation or removal event.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for clustering and visualizing textual data. A data clustering and visualization system clusters large volumes of semi-structured and unstructured textual data into categories. Each category can include a group of similar alerts and incidents. The categories are then graphically presented.

Abstract: The present technology enables identification, visualization, and analysis of data flows via network components in complex enterprise IT environments including but not limited to servers, workstations, switches, routers, wireless access points, traffic shapers, firewalls, storage systems and SAN systems. The technology is based on a combination of information collection, information filtering, mapping, grouping, marking, report generation, and verification.

Abstract: Techniques for processing a data set include: partitioning the data set into portions each including rows of data of the data set, a different one of the portions is included in a different one of a pages of a table, and rendering the pages of the table. A first number of rows of the data set is determined for a first page. The first number of rows is determined in accordance with a first plurality of heights including a height of a header section, a height of a footer section, heights of a plurality of margins, a total height of each page of the table, and a height of each row of the table. A second number of rows is determined for a second page. The second number of rows is determined in accordance with a second plurality of heights including at least some of the first plurality of heights.

Abstract: The process receives a visual specification, which specifies data sources, visual variables, and data fields from the data sources. Each visual variable is associated with one or more data fields and each data field is either a dimension or a measure. For each measure m, the process identifies a set R(m) consisting of dimensions that are reachable from the measure by a sequence of many-to-one relationships in an object model for the data sources. For each distinct set R, the process forms a data field set S, consisting of each dimension in R and each measure m for which R(m)=R. For each set S and for each measure in the set S, the process aggregates values of the measure according to the dimensions in S. The process builds a data visualization according to the data fields in the set S and the visual variables they are associated with.

Abstract: In a conversation contents management method for a conversation contents management system including at least one processor and a memory, a conversation party, conversation contents, and a conversation time included in a conversation section determined by at least one of a start point and an end point selected by a user are identified. The conversation section including the identified conversation party, conversation contents, and conversation time are stored in the memory as a unit conversation.

Abstract: Commentary rating determination systems and methods determine a commentary rating for commentary about a subject media content event that has been generated by a community member. An exemplary embodiment receives video information acquired by a 360° video camera, identifies a physical object from the received video information, determines a physical attribute associated with the identified physical object, wherein the determined physical attribute describes a characteristic of the identified physical object, compares the determined physical attribute of the identified physical object with a plurality of predefined physical object attributes stored in a database, and in response to identifying one of the plurality of predefined physical object attributes that matches the determined physical attribute, associates the quality value of the identified one of the plurality of predefined physical object attributes with the identified physical object.

Abstract: Migration results in specific action requests to move data from a source system instance to a target system instance. Migration may consume many resources. In an effort to monitor migration effects on source and/or target performance, one or more traffic lights are determined to monitor utilization of resources of the source and/or target. Based on the one or more traffic lights, migration is dynamically throttled. The one or more traffic light may be assigned a status based on how the migration affects performance of another data operation which may be contemporaneously operating on either the source and/or the target.

Abstract: Various systems and methods are disclosed for making and using an anonymized database for an industrial enterprise, such as oilfield operations. Providing statistical performance indicators for groupings of an activity in the oilfield allow for the information in confidential data sets to be shared without compromising the confidentiality of any one data entry. Comparisons may be made between or among oilfields with differing technologies, differing rig configurations, or even different crews when sufficient data are available.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for determining that a transaction of a plurality of transactions performed in at least a portion of a system includes a delete operation, the plurality of transactions being managed by a secondary transaction manager and including a subset of all transactions performed in the system, in response to the delete operation, inserting a clean-up entry in the secondary transaction manager, attaching the clean-up entry to a subsequent transaction in order to determine and assign a time to the cleanup-entry that is used to subsequently trigger garbage collection, and selectively comparing the time to a most-recently-reported minimum read timestamp that is periodically reported to the secondary transaction manager from a primary transaction manager of the system, wherein the clean-up entry is executed in response to determining that the time is less than the most-recently-reported minimum read timestamp.

Abstract: Reliability of data reports can be determined by a device that receives a number of reports from different sources. One method includes: receiving data reports from devices. The data reports are associated with an occurrence of an event. The method also includes determining reliability data representing reliability of the data reports. The reliability can be determined based on one or more different defined characteristics such as the location at which a data report was generated relative to the location of the event, whether the data report was the most recently-received data report and/or the number of data reports reporting that an event is ongoing relative to the number of data reports reporting that the event is no longer ongoing. The method can also include determining whether a data report includes information indicative of a false positive report or a false negative report.

Abstract: A method for generating a data visualization is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of data points related to fluorescent emissions values from a plurality of reaction sites. The fluorescent emission values include information for a first type of dye and a second type of dye. The method further includes displaying a first portion of the plurality of data points related to the first type of dye in a representation of location of the plurality of reaction sites, and displaying a second portion of the plurality of data points related to the second type of dye in the representation. The method further includes displaying the first portion of the plurality of data points in a scatter plot display. The scatter plot shows fluorescent values related to the first dye on the y-axis and fluorescent values related to the second dye on the x-axis. The method includes displaying the second portion of the plurality of data points in the scatter plot display.

Abstract: A multimedia management system (MMS) manages media acquisition, storage and retrieval, quickly retrieving relevant media records with minimal effort and may also provide controlled and/or restricted on-line access to media records. The reduction in effort to control, manage and access information rich media allows the use of media to become a more efficient and prolific means of general media documentation for intra- and inter-communication between entities such as businesses, government organizations, and institutions, as well as for individuals. Moreover, the system also provides media acquisition aids, acquisition device management aids and display aids that further improve the efficiency of accessing relevant media in a timely manner further reducing barriers to using digital media as a practical media documentation tool.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for identifying and monitoring social media accounts belonging to offenders, inmates, and relevant third parties. In an embodiment, a social media monitoring system retrieves information from a criminal history database to identify and verify social media account information. In an embodiment, a social media monitoring system retrieves information from an offender communication device, such as a computer, phone, or tablet, to identify and verify social media account information. The social media monitoring system analyzes this information, retrieves social media accounts, and generates a confidence score and/or relevance score for each retrieved social media account. Social media monitoring system organizes links to the social media accounts based on the scores and also generates alerts when a security threat associated with the social media accounts is detected.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for translating file system operations to object store operations may include necessary steps to receive a plurality of file system operations for operating files in a file system; determine corresponding objects and object store operations in an object store for the files and the file system operations; determine an order of the object store operations based on time of the file system operations received in the file system; determine dependency of the object store operations, and assign the object store operations to a first queue based on the order and dependency; determine priority of the object store operations, and transfer an entry containing an object store operation with the priority from the first queue to a second queue; and execute the object store operations in parallel and asynchronously based on organization of the object store operations in the first and second queues.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for cross-system user-level management of data objects stored in one or more information management systems, and for user-level management of data storage quotas in information management systems, including data objects in secondary storage. An illustrative quota manager is associated with one or more information management systems. The quota manager comprises a quota value representing the maximum amount of data storage allowed for a given end-user's primary and secondary data in the one or more information management systems. The quota manager determines whether data associated with the end-user has exceeded the storage quota, and if so, prompts the end-user to select data for deletion, the deletion to be implemented globally, across the primary and secondary storage subsystems of the respective one or more information management systems. Meanwhile, so long as the quota is exceeded, the quota manager instructs storage managers to block backups of end-user's data.

Abstract: Techniques for organizing knowledge about a dataset storing data from or about multiple sources may be provided. For example, the data can be accessed from the multiple sources and categorized based on the data type. For each data type, a triple extraction technique specific to that data type may be invoked. One set of techniques can allow the extraction of triples from the data based on natural language-based rules. Another set of techniques can allow a similar extraction based on logical or structural-based rules. A triple may store a relationship between elements of the data. The extracted triples can be stored with corresponding identifiers in a list. Further, dictionaries storing associations between elements of the data and the triples can be updated. The list and the dictionaries can be used to return triples in response to a query that specifies one or more elements.
