  • Patent number: 4679346
Abstract: A fishing apparatus having a main frame comprising of a center post having a sprocket wheel rotatably mounted on its upper end. There is further provided a frame extending from the center post for housing a second sprocket wheel, the two sprockets interconnected via a continuous link chain, so that rotation imparted onto the main sprocket imparts rotation to the secondary sprocket. The secondary sprocket is rotated in unison to a reel member housing a quantity of fishing line to be reeled in and out depending on rotation of the sprocket wheel. There is further provided a braking frictionally braking to the reel upon movement of the chain in a certain direction. Likewise, upon slight movement of the chain in the second direction the secondary sprocket wheel becomes a free rolling wheel and will allow a line to be reel therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4679349
Abstract: A fish line sinker produced from a length of coiled metal spring. The coiled spring windings are contiguous and resiliently permit stretching and bending, i.e., the spring snaps back when released. The spring windings are tightly coiled and strongly resist crushing. Thus when wedged between rocks, a pulling action that tends to drive the spring deeper into the wedge (by the fisherman pulling on the line) is resisted by the noncrushable cross section. Bending and/or stretching does occur and upon release, the snap back action frees the sinker.

  • Patent number: 4676426
Abstract: A method of solder leveling in printed circuit boards or other circuitized substrates. Flux is first applied to the surface of the substrate to be soldered. Molten solder is then applied to the fluxed surface after which the soldered substrate is cooled to a temperature below 300.degree. F. Molten solder is then again applied to the previously soldered surface of the substrate. This last step results in leveling the solder first applied to the substrate, including removal of any solder balls which had been formed over recessed pins and flush filling of passage holes formed in the substrate. The method can be performed without regard to the surface condition of the substrate, the composition of flux and solder, whether the substrate is of the thin film type or of the thick film type, nor whether dip soldering or wave soldering techniques are used. The invention also incompasses the end product resulting from use of the method.

  • Patent number: 4674219
Abstract: A waterfowl decoy assembly in which a reel is positioned in a downwardly opening cavity in the forward end of the body of the decoy and an anchor line is wound around a central hollow hub of the reel. A strip of spring steel is positioned in wound condition within the hub member with the inner end of the strip secured to a fixed axle on which the reel is rotatably mounted and the outer end of the strip fixed adjacent the inner periphery of the hub member. The parameters of the strip of spring steel are chosen such that, with the anchor line tensioned by the weight of the anchor, the steel strip functions to controllably resist the unwinding movement of the reel to allow the anchor to seek the bottom of the associated body of water, whereafter the spring steel strip functions to preclude any further paying out of line and to tension the payed out line so that the decoy remains directly over the anchor.

  • Patent number: 4674670
Abstract: The invention relates to a manufacturing apparatus which comprises moving means which continuously moves the works that are transferred along a frame chute, and detector means which detects at least a portion of the work that is moved. The moving means is controlled by kind-of-work data and by a work position signal from the detector means, and the work is set to a predetermined position. Hence, even a work of a different kind can be set to an optimum bonding position without the need of exchanging the unit, making it possible to perform the operation fully automatically and to meet general purposes.Further, provision is made of means which moves the frame chute in a direction at right angles with the direction in which the work is moved, so that even that work that has different widths and shapes in the widthwise direction can be placed in position and subjected to the bonding fully automatically.

  • Patent number: 4672766
Abstract: A fishing jig using a chemiluminescent capsule. The jig includes an elongated, weighted fish shaped body having a longitudinal extending cavity for receiving and holding the chemiluminescent capsule therein. The cavity has a pair of light emitting openings in the opposite sidewalls of the body communicating with the cavity. A continuous bore extends longitudinally and fully through the body from the forward to the rearward end, and a resilient tubular line guide is disposed in the bore. The line guide is a resilient Teflon tube having a lengthwise bore with a low friction, nonchaffing interior wall surface. The line guide bore is sized to loosely receive a fishing line and allows the free sliding of the jig along the line and the free rotation of the jig about the line during usage. The line guide has a resilient forward end portion extending out of the body bore at the body forward end by a distance sufficient to provide a shock absorbing action as the jig wobbles on the line during usage.

  • Patent number: 4671448
Abstract: In a method of preparing from weld material a component having a curvature which is symmetrical in rotation, difficulties arise, more particularly in the case of large and heavy components, in guiding the treatment zone. The treatment zone remains in a horizontal positio for welding, on stationary welding heads. For economic form welding under numerical control, it is proposed that the rotational axis of the component be tilted stepwise, to an extent depending upon the advance of the buildup of weld material layers, around a horizontal axis perpendicular to the rotational axis, the welding heads being adjusted stepwise as the tilt position varies.

  • Patent number: 4669650
Abstract: A method for joining thin-walled tubular parts (1, 2) of metal by forge/diffusion welding comprising establishing a joint (3) between opposed bounding surfaces (4, 5), the joint having increasing height from one side (7) to the other. During heating of the parts the joint (3) is supplied with an inert or reducing flushing gas, for instance hydrogen, until the oxides are removed from the joint surfaces (4, 5). By subsequently pressing the parts together, complete forge/diffusion welding is obtained. It is also suggested to reduce the cross-section of the parts excentrically in the joint area and press the parts out to their initial cross-section during the forge/diffusion welding. A packer (8) is used to close the joint (3) on the side where the distance between the parts (1, 2) is the greatest. Means (10, 11) are shown for performing the welding under water.
