Abstract: Joining means for securing articles together comprising a plastic member provided with a substantially vertically extending recess, i.e. one whose throat is at the base portion of the member; the throat portion being narrower than the remainder of the recess and utilitarian means to which the joining member is attached either in the form of vertical walls in such manner that joining members form, in effect, side walls providing a self-sustaining structure or in the form of a member which supports other articles such as trays, hooks, rings, and the like, with which the joining member is integrally molded.
Abstract: For the temporary blocking of the access to parking places, driveways and cess roads a post is used, which is anchored in the ground and is foldable about an articulation arranged over the ground, whereby a drive is located in the post which can be activated over a receiver in correspondence with a portable emitter. Thereby, the post is suitably built as a hollow body, so that the drive and the remaining parts can be safely lodged therein. This way, the barrier post can be remote-controlled without difficulty from an approaching vehicle by means of a portable emitter, or for instance in the case of blocking the access to football stadiums, from a control center.

Abstract: A device for opening and closing vehicle doors is proposed, in which pivot levers 15, 16 operate between the vehicle door 10 and the vehicle body 11 and with their ends engage longitudinally displaceable guide elements 25, 26, which run on guide rails 23, 24 located on the vehicle and on the vehicle door 10. The pivot levers 15, 16 indirectly engage the body 11 of the vehicle via an intermediary part 14, and the intermediary part 14 is pivotably attached to the body 11 in the standard door stops 12. The pivot levers 15, 16 form a lever system in the manner of a multi-member kinematic chain, and the kinematics of the lever system can be modified by means of an actuating device such that the vehicle door 10 can function in either the normal swiveling mode or in a sliding mode.
Abstract: A mechanism for automatically blocking the gap between the bottom edge of a door leaf, hung to open and close within a surrounding frame, and the adjacent threshold, when the door is closed; and automatically unblocking that gap when the door starts to open again, comprises an elongate bar housed above a strip of material in the bottom edge region of the door leaf. The bar and strip of material each are coupled to respective attraction/repulsion elements. One element is a magnet and the other is a piece of material having a positive reaction to a magnet, typically a further magnet. One end of the bar or an auxiliary member coupled to the bar protrudes from an edge of the door adjacent the door frame. The arrangement is such that, with the door open, the strip of material is raised clear of the adjacent threshold.
Abstract: The invention illustrates a door seal comprising a permanently magnetic sealing member along the underneath edge of the door which at the end of the closing action moves at right angles to the direction of closing into the sealing position, and which co-operates with a magnetically active counterpart, whereby the movable sealing member and the counterpart run parallel in the closed position of the door, and the sealing member and/or the counterpart are guided so that they are movable.
Abstract: An automatic door installation with two traffic sensors mounted on each side of the door adjacent the opposite side edges thereof, each having a reflected energy receiver and a plurality of radiant energy emitters with angularly spaced beam axes to provide broad coverage areas intersecting the traffic path of travel. The emitters of each sensor are selectively activated at different radiant energy levels and/or selectively deactivated to vary the affective coverage area as the door is swung between its closed and open positions.

Abstract: A drive mechanism for full-automatic opening and closing of a sliding door comprises two drive mechanisms for supplying different moving speeds to the door. A main motor for the higher speed drives a worm-gear spindle, a low-power motor for the lower speed drives a profiled bar. A gear wheel moving on the worm-gear spindle and a pinion slideably mounted on the profiled bar mesh with each other and are contained in a sliding carriage guiding the sliding door via a latch. The selective or common drive of both motors results in various combinations and enables an adaptation to the requirements for variable door speeds. The drive mechanism is of simple design, relatively cheap and does not require trained service personnel.
Abstract: A controlling device for an automatic door which can detect a human body approaching the door assuredly in a relatively early stage and hence can assure smooth passage thereof by a person after another person has passed it. The controlling device comprises a controller, a first human body detecting sensor having a small detecting area near the door, and a second human body detecting sensor having a wider detecting area which extends remotely from the door and covers the detecting area of the first human body sensor. The controller develops a door opening signal in response to a human body detection signal received from the first human body detecting sensor when a door closing signal is not being developed from the controller whereas it develops a door opening signal in response to a human body detection signal from the second human body detecting sensor when a door closing signal is being developed from the controller.
Abstract: The present door for a motor vehicle includes a door glass, a door glass piece and a guide groove. The door glass piece has a substantially crank shape and a forward end sliding portion offset into the vehicle and secured to an end portion of the door glass, the sliding portion of the door glass piece being slidably guided by the guide groove on a door frame aligned to enable opening and closing of the door glass, while the outer surfaces of the door glass and the door frame are substantially flush with each other. According to the present invention the sliding portion of the door glass piece and the door glass are formed such that an angle formed by a center line of the sliding portion and the outer surface of the door glass is less than 180.degree., the outer surface of the vehicle being curved and the door glass conforming to the curvature of the outer surface of a vehicle body, which is continuously formed by the outer surfaces of the door glass and the door frame.

Abstract: A wood-clad metal window frame is formed from four extruded aluminum sections to each of which is secured at its interior side edge a wood facing member. Each of the extrusions has formed thereon various lips and flanges which collectively define in the assembled frame an integral J-channel, an integral nailing and flashing flange, and a pair of integral jamb channels each adapted to receive and retain a conventional sash-supporting balance member. Carried within the frame, and concealing an interior portion of the head section of the frame is a sight baffle which has integrally formed therewith a weather stripping element positioned to sealingly engage a window sash installed in the frame. The wood facing members collectively define in the assembled frame an interior wood border which provides the frame with an all-wood interior appearance and further functions as a thermal damper to inhibit outward and inward heat flow through the frame.

Abstract: A steerable electric toy car includes a steering mechanism including a weight body with an electrically conductive activating finger and a weight at two ends thereof, suspended on a grip member. Two pairs of contacts are fixed on the grip member in a position that the activating finger does not abut them when the grip member is held upright, but that the activating finger does abut them when the grip member is rotated and the weight maintains the original position of the weight body relative to the ground. The toy car further includes a gearing for turning the wheels of the car which has a frictional arrangement for preventing damage to the powering motor when the wheels can be turned no further.
Abstract: A sliding door panel is provided which moves bodily into and out of a recess so as to be closed or open, and when out of the recess it may be rolled sideways clear of the recess for ingress or egress therethrough. The moveable door panel is provided with a pair of crank shafts which carry crank arms, and one mounted so that rotation of a door handle causes rotation of the crank shafts and arms. The crank arms are each fixed at one end relative to the door, and at the other end relative to a track so as to cause the bodily movement of the door. The crank arms are also co-operatively associated with latch bars which enter latch slots at both the mullion and jamb sides of the door, so as to assure positive, intruder-proof latching of the door panel when closed.

Abstract: A conventional frame for a jalousie type window is made secure against passage therethrough by individuals by inserting bars through the openings in the side frame members normally utilized by the jalousie support brackets which are then pivoted on the bars. The ends of the bars where they project through the side frames members of the jalousie frame are rigidly connected as by welding to a respective one of a pair of bars parallel to the outer side of the side frame members. The bar ends extend beyond the second bars for embedment in a masonry surrounding a window opening adapted to receive the frame. The brackets and jalousie slats are controlled in a conventional manner.
Abstract: A guard device or shield for use with an automobile door is comprised of a rigid plastic material and is shaped to conform to the exterior door handle well. The shield is provided with at least one tab for securing the shield to the exterior panel of the automobile door to cover the exterior door handle well. Sealing elements are secured to the periphery of the shield and to the exterior door panel to provide seals thereat.
