  • Patent number: 10462060
Abstract: Packet flows received in a data network are assigned to respective entries of a database. During an accumulation interval byte counts of the assigned packet flows are accumulated in the respective database entries. The packet flows are classified as elephant flows when differences between the byte counts and a reference byte count exceed a threshold and are reported after expiration of the accumulation interval.

  • Patent number: 10462044
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a data forwarding method and a node device for a mesh network. The mesh network comprises a plurality of nodes. At least one of the plurality of nodes is a relay node which forwards a data packet from a source node to a destination node. The method includes determining whether or not to forward the data packet in accordance with a type and a forwarding count value of the data package. The forwarding count value is changed in different manners in accordance with the type of the data packet when the data packet is forwarded. The data forwarding method decreases forwarding times of the data packets, reduces power consumption and increases efficiency of network communication.

  • Patent number: 10405317
Abstract: Low data rate wireless electronic devices utilizing a hub- or star-based network topology, operational at ranges of thousands of meters. Remote end-devices may be such things as keypads, door latches, occupancy monitors, sprinkler controllers and other devices controlled or monitored in a campus or a collection of buildings. End-devices operate at intermediate ranges in RF congested areas and failure-intolerant situations through the use of discrete programmable channels. Each end-device may carry a unique identifier and type information that facilitates the assignment of an operational channel assignment from the hub, without a configuring or programming step at the end-device by an installing person. A hub uses end-device type information to make channel assignments, conserving communications channel resources. Detailed information on various example embodiments of the inventions are provided in the Detailed Description below.

  • Patent number: 10374962
Abstract: Data is routed in a mesh network of devices that can communicate wirelessly through a plurality of technologies. One or more of such devices receive broadcast message(s) from a destination device intended to receive the data, and generate a first radio link quality metric (RLQM) value based on the broadcast message(s). A source device originates and delivers a quantum of data with an embedded first RLQM value. A set of intermediate devices relays the quantum of data if a forwarding criterion is fulfilled; the forwarding criterion is based in part on the first RLQM value and a second RLQM value generated by an intermediate device in the set of intermediate devices based on the broadcast message(s). The intermediate device exploits an optical interface to transmit the quantum of data. The destination device broadcasts an acknowledgement signal in response to receiving intended data.

  • Patent number: 10334525
Abstract: As the variety and number of wireless client devices have increased, often there may be multiple client devices in close proximity of each other. In addition to the connectivity to the wireless wide area network (WWAN), the client devices may have short range link to directly connect with each other. Two or more client devices in a given area may be camped on the same cell of the same WWAN, and the client devices may be decoding the paging information from the same cell. A method and apparatus are disclosed such that a client device may decode the paging information from the WWAN and relay the WWAN paging information to other client devices over the short range link. This may enable other client devices to avoid having to decode the paging information directly from the WWAN which may reduce their power consumption.
