Abstract: A base station (13) is configured to receive, from a Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal (11) or a core network (14), history information indicating whether or not specific coverage enhancement processing was executed in previous communication with the M2M terminal (11). Further, the base station (13) is configured to control communication using the specific coverage enhancement processing between the M2M terminal (11) and the base station (13) based on the history information received from the M2M terminal (11) or the core network (14). It is thus possible to contribute to improving efficiency of determination regarding whether to apply a special coverage enhancement processing to the M2M terminal.

Abstract: TDMA communications between a host device and a number of clients on a communications channel are dynamically adapted to allocate or de-allocate time slots in response to changes in the number of active clients. The system initially operates in a startup mode in which the host device transmits a startup message on the communications channel and assigns a timeslot in a TDMA cycle in response to connection requests received from each of the requesting clients. After exiting the startup mode, the system operates in a normal mode in which the host device initiates the TDMA cycle by transmitting a polling message on the communications channel that indicates a number of timeslots occurring within that particular TDMA cycle. The host changes the number of timeslots indicated in the polling message to responsively adapt duration of the TDMA cycle as the number of clients communicating via the communications channel changes.
Abstract: A ventilation apparatus including a pump, a switching unit, and a fluid diffuser is provided. The pump attached to the footwear pumps fluid into and exhausts fluid from a cavity of the footwear. The switching unit in communication with the pump selectively changes modes of operation of the pump. The fluid diffuser connected to the pump within the cavity of the footwear includes a feed pipe for transferring the fluid pumped from the pump to the cavity of the footwear during a pump mode of operation and to transfer the fluid in the cavity of the footwear to an ambient environment external to the footwear during an exhaust mode of operation, for ventilating the footwear. In one or more embodiments, the fluid diffuser includes a diffusing member with one or more openings and/or a fluid distribution channel member for transferring the fluid to and from the cavity of the footwear.
Abstract: A shoe comprises a sole and an upper. The sole comprises a lower sole member and an upper sole member. The lower sole member includes a plurality of sipes and a longitudinal cavity. The longitudinal cavity is at least in a sole midfoot region and extends downwardly from a top surface of the lower sole member. The plurality of sipes extend upwardly from the bottom surface of the lower sole member and intersect the longitudinal cavity such that the plurality of sipes and the longitudinal cavity combine to define a plurality of through openings. The upper sole member is within the cavity and covers the plurality of through openings.
Abstract: A method to be performed by a wireless station having a wireless transceiver configured to establish a connection to a network, a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium. The method includes receiving information during a first reception segment of a discontinuous reception cycle, wherein the discontinuous reception cycle includes the first reception segment and a first idle segment, performing a first measurement that begins during the first reception segment and performing a second measurement, wherein the second measurement begins prior to an end of the first measurement.

Abstract: A service chain management method, a delivery node, a controller, and a value-added service node are provided. An ingress delivery node of a service chain receives a detection packet for detecting the service chain, where the service chain includes at least one value-added service node, and the detection packet carries status information of each value-added service node; and the ingress delivery node determines whether the service chain is in a normal running state according to the detection packet. By using the present invention, management on a service chain can be implemented, thereby improving reliability of the service chain.
Abstract: The application relates to a flame blocking venting trap (FBVT) adapted to vent a garment, the FBVT comprising a proximal layer; a central venting layer superposed to the proximal layer; and a distal layer superposed to the central venting layer. The the proximal layer is forming a first fold with the central venting layer and the central venting layer is forming a second fold with the distal layer to act as a flow restricting apparatus configured to prevent air and flames to get through the FBVT from the outside of the garment and allow air to get through the FBVT from the inside of the garment. A garment including one or many FBVT is encompassed by the present application.
Abstract: An interactive helmet system and method for reducing brain injuries may provide a helmet and at least one inflatable air pouch. The at least one inflatable air pouch may remain in an active position and may pressurize or further inflate in response to an impact with a surface. Over a predetermined time period, the at least one inflatable air pouch may not depressurize and may instantly pressurize or further inflate. The at least one inflatable air pouch may have an air pouch pressure that increases to a higher pressure and may protect users from brain injury at high impact forces.
Abstract: A charm holder device for attaching charms to a heel breast of a shoe located between the shank and the heel of the shoe. The charm holder device includes an attachment portion attached to the shoe, a shoe engaging portion coupled to the attachment portion and a charm engaging portion with a charm keeper coupled to the shoe engaging portion. The charm keeper receives charms or beads. The attachment portion may be attached to the outsole of the shoe only or be in a bore located on the heel breast of the shoe and extending from the insole to the outsole.
Abstract: A shoe can include support members for a plantar surface of a foot that include: (a) a heel support plate; (b) a forefoot support plate; (c) a heel securing strap component for securely engaging a heel supporting component with a wearer's heel; and (d) a unidirectional hinge, wherein the hinge allows the heel support plate to rotate internally with respect to the forefoot support plate and limit the heel support plate from rotating externally with respect to the forefoot support plate. The support member allows the shoe to twist and move with the foot, allowing the ankle to remain neutral, rather than the shoe fighting the foot's natural motion. The unidirectional nature of the hinge plate also prevents the shoe from rotating externally beyond a predetermined limit point.
