  • Patent number: 10212638
Abstract: Methods of combining semi-persistent resource allocation and dynamic resource allocation are provided. Packets, such as VoIP packets, are transmitted on the uplink and downlink using respective semi-persistent resources. For each mobile device, awake periods and sleep periods are defined. The semi-persistent resources are aligned with the awake periods so that most of the time the mobile device can turn off its wireless access radio during the sleep periods. In addition, signalling to request, and to allocate, resources for additional packets are transmitted during the awake periods, and the resources allocated for the additional packets are within the awake windows.

  • Patent number: 10149345
Abstract: The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for discontinuous signaling in a mobile communication network. User equipment (UE)/mobile terminal requests slotted transmissions and, in response to the network authorizing slotted transmissions, communication of subsequent UE transmissions are slotted, such that a minimum time period is required to elapse between each UE transmission. In specific embodiments of the invention the minimum time period is a predetermined time period known in advance to the user equipment and network. In other embodiments of the invention the user equipment slotted transmission requests includes a requested minimum time period, which may be approved or revised by the network. In still further embodiments the network, upon receiving the request for slotted transmissions, determines the minimum time period.

  • Patent number: 10103991
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing packet flows in a communication network are provided. Packet information can be cached on different levels and used to avoid external queries. The cache information can also be correlated with other types of information, such as location information, to be able to serve that information quicker than if one or more external queries were to be made. A demux manager can provide routing and session setup, by routing packets that already have a session to the session manager and assigning packets to a session manager if they are not already assigned to a session. The tiered architecture also provides scalability to many users and minimizes delays even during high call volumes because the load can be distributed well across the gateway's resources.

  • Patent number: 10091793
Abstract: A UE controls in-device coexistence (IDC) indication message generation to mitigate potential throughput impact on UE to maintain UE performance as much as possible. Under the proposed method, FDM-based solution is always preferred by the UE. Based on the IDC indication message generated by the UE, a network applies an IDC interference mitigation solution that prioritizes FDM-based solution. Specifically, the UE first sends an IDC message requesting FDM-based solution. In case the serving eNB does not respond, the UE sends a new IDC message by alternating IDC option. Even if a TDM-based solution has been received, the UE may continue requesting FDM-based solution to gain UE performance.
