  • Patent number: 10850139
Abstract: This invention offers a fully protective cowl neck garment with various fasteners designed to attach additional protective gear, such as gloves and shoe coverings. Additionally, a temperature sensor shield is located on the hat and protective mask. This allows the clients or patients the ability to see and to monitor the temperature of their caregivers. The caregiver's temperature is visible on the hat, as well as the face mask. This makes the caregivers accountable to their clients or patients, as well as their colleagues and coworkers. This invention eliminates the worry of contact with infectious diseases or dangerous liquids, by utilizing elastic manual ties and hook-and-loop fasteners to ensure the garment is secured fully on a user's body. Overall, this invention ensures medical professionals, firemen, emergency medical personnel, government workers, and so forth, are protected fully from contagious and infectious diseases, liquids, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 10813783
Abstract: An improved spinal orthosis for treating scoliosis comprises a semi-rigid brace shell with a split extending from a top end to a bottom end, and a cavity to receive the torso of a wearer. The brace shell defines at least one hole. At least one strap extends inside of a portion of the brace shell, through the at least one hole and around a portion of the outside of the brace shell across the split in the brace shell. The at least one strap is tensioned and the brace shell is closed around the wearer by pulling a first end of the at least one strap and detachably fastening it to the brace shell. The tensioned strap harnesses the elastic potential energy of the closed brace shell to apply dynamic corrective forces to the area of the user's torso most proximate to the apex of the spinal curvature.

  • Patent number: 10813408
Abstract: A tactile feedback shoe sole for footwear comprising a main body that defines a toe portion, an arch portion and a heel portion. A first chamber filled with a fluid is disposed in the toe portion. A second chamber comprising a second chamber upper wall, a second chamber lower wall and projections is disposed in the heel portion. A channel is disposed at the arch portion between the first chamber and the second chamber. If the first chamber is pressurized first before exerting pressure on the second chamber, which is likely to happen when the user of the sole runs following a forefoot running technique, the fluid from the first chamber flows to the second chamber and the fluid in the second chamber does not allow contact of the heel of the user to come in contact of the projections present in the inflated second chamber.

  • Patent number: 10799416
Abstract: One embodiment of a self-treating upper neck system for therapeutic mobilization and of the type allowing for restoration of C1-2 rotation by means of placing repeated passive mobilizations to the upper neck. This embodiment accomplishes this by having two stoppers (12a and 12b) that fix the C2 vertebra by placing a force through the posterior aspect of the C2 transverse processes. The force is applied by the patient via an elastic head strap (20) attached to a rope (22) that is looped through pulleys and eventually terminates with handles (24a and 24b) on each side. With the patient resting his/her head on a foam cushion (14) secured to the base of the apparatus (10), they use the rope (22) and pulley system to generate the precise magnitude and direction of forces necessary to repeatedly mobilize the C1-2 segments.

  • Patent number: 10779664
Abstract: CNH Donut is a pressure and pain relieving prosthesis, and sleep aid, to be used with a standard pillow, for persons suffering with Chondrodermatitis nodularis chronic helicis, (CNH) Invention is a novel assemblage, comprised of 2 contiguous foam strips, curved into a “lachrymiform” shape, covered in cylindrical nylon spandex, then affixed with a headstrap, allowing patients to sleep directly on the injured ear, to roll over, and sleep on their preferred side, without pain. Invention is lightweight, yet firm enough to support a head. The smaller size, and unique “contiguous” placement of thick foam bands, as opposed to stuffing or fill, creates CNH Donut's distinctive strength, and “teardrop shaped” inner circle, using the natural arc, and firm properties of the foam to best advantage.

  • Patent number: 10780337
Abstract: An in-mouth barrier against entry of insects, pollen and particulates in to the open mouth of a user, particularly in strenuous outdoor exercises, needs to be comfortable and fully effective for various extents of an agape mouth, and ideally should require no conscious effort to re-position in even long durations. A filter frame surrounding a screen is formed to the dental arch so as to envelope both rows of teeth except possibly the molars. A flange on the frame holds the frame on the mandibular teeth and prevents the frame from moving down. The end of the flange lies under the tip of the tongue and prevents the frame from moving up. The frame thus remains comfortably inside the vestibule and covers the mouth for the various extents it may be opened to.

  • Patent number: 10744029
Abstract: The combined members potentiate the autonomic, thermoregulation of an animal such as a horse. An absorbent wrap cools an animal by removing its extra heat during extreme physical and environmental conditions. The wrap member is submerged in water, excess moisture removed, then placed in a sealed, insulated cooler lined with frozen icepacks where the components stay cold until use. The wrap is removed from the cooler and seen in one embodiment fitted around the neck of an animal and held in place by fasteners. Temperature remediation occurs through a countercurrent exchange where incoming and outgoing elements touch to remove heat. The cooling wrap increases an animal's physiological mechanisms by working with their vascular structures and respiratory tract during selective brain cooling (SBC). The animal while stationary or under movement is cooled through the processes of conductive, evaporative and circulatory cooling.

  • Patent number: 10743525
Abstract: This invention includes several variations of a machine for catching small creatures unharmed, particularly small fish and other aquatic creatures. Most embodiments include a hollow container, attached to a specially designed fishing rod via an insulated fishing line containing electrical wires. The user can lower the insulated fishing line into water and wait for a creature to swim into the hollow container, then the user can use electronic controls to remotely snap the hollow container shut, hopefully trapping the creature alive and unharmed within. The invention also makes a fun and interesting tool for children. Embodiments of the invention include the ability to monitor the temperature and other conditions inside the container, and also the ability to communicate remotely with the container, and monitor the conditions therein, through a program downloaded on the user's computer or phone.

  • Patent number: 10716699
Abstract: Embodiments of the Urine Collection System for Women are comprised of a collection sheet, a top collection flange, a bottom collection flange, and a standard collection cup. The collection sheet forms an aperture onto which the top collection flange rests. The collection flange protrudes through the collection sheet and forms the bottom collection flange. The top collection flange and the bottom collection flange are integrally formed together to form the overall collection flange. The bottom collection flange forms the attachment means for the collection cup. The standard collection cup is a common medical urine collection cup that attaches to the bottom collection flange via an attachment means. The combined weight of the top collection flange and the bottom collection flange deflects the collection sheet into a conical shape thereby causing the collection sheet to serve as a funnel directing urine into the collection cup.
