  • Patent number: 10455864
Abstract: A pedicure sock for use following a pedicure, during and/or after toe nails are painted, to keep the feet warm without disturbing the toenail area includes a full front opening, full front closure, a split central sock body that forms an elongated, hollow member when closed, an open toe area integral with the distal end of the central sock body, and a heel section integral with the proximal end of the central sock body. The open toe section is defined by a plurality of attached toe separators, each of which is to be positioned between the toes and fastened in place on the top on a wearer's foot so as to allow the toes to be separated and extend outside of the sock when the rest of the foot is inside the sock. The full front opening/closure and toe separators allow for easy removal of the sock so as not to disturb the pedicure when the sock is removed.

  • Patent number: 10456090
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and a device for predicting the glucose concentration of a subject and recommending therapeutic action. The responses of the user's glucose to administered doses of insulin, dietary carbohydrates, and other factors influencing glucose concentration are measured individually for a given user. Once these responses are learned as a function of time, the method and device can receive information about the factors which that have been recently or will soon be administered and can recommend which other factors should also be administered.

  • Patent number: 10426365
Abstract: The present invention relates to the design and implementation of a seizure detection or prediction system. The proposed invention computes and selects spectral power ratio features, cross-channel spectral power ratio features, cross spectral power features and cross spectral power ratio features in a patient-specific manner. The selected features are input to a classifier to detect or predict seizures. The proposed algorithm takes advantage of high sensitivity in detecting or predicting seizures and low complexity in implementation. The proposed scheme is general and is suitable for creating a trigger for therapy delivery in a closed-loop therapy system. The therapy could involve either delivery of an anti-epileptic drug or electrical or magnetic stimulation of the brain.

  • Patent number: 10420966
Abstract: A water survival mask that seals to the user's face covering the nose and mouth and preventing the unwanted inhalation of water. The mask lets air in through slots located at the bottom of the mask that also allow water to drain out. Once through the slots, water is prevented from entering the mask by a water impermeable barrier that selectively allows for air and not water to be inhaled, which may be a float valve. If water penetrates through the water impermeable barrier it is caught by splash guards and funneled back out of the mask before it can enter the primary airway of the user. The water survival mask works exceptionally well at preventing inhalation of windblown water droplets or wave water when floating in rough waters, thereby preventing pulmonary aspiration and pulmonary edema. It also prevents immediate inhalation of water do to submersion in cold water.

  • Patent number: 10407145
Abstract: An underwater breathing apparatus includes an elastic interior bag designed to hold air. The interior bag is contained within an outer container, which is designed to hold a weighted material which functions to offset positive buoyancy created by the air in the interior bag. The elasticity of the interior bag, as well as a slider mechanism, functions to provide pressure such that the air is accessible to a human diver while underwater. The apparatus also contains a pump that is used to fill the interior bag with air, and a mouthpiece that functions to allow the user to draw air from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10391022
Abstract: A Leg Muscle Therapy Apparatus is provided which enables the user to easily and comfortably engage the various muscles of the leg, providing the leg muscles with a therapeutic message which helps to loosen and relieve sore or damages muscles. The apparatus may also be used to assist in the removal of cellulite from areas of the leg. The apparatus is basically comprised of a frame structure means, a user engagement means, a coupling means, and an optional resistance means. The frame structure means has at least two main support members coupled together in such a manner that the leg of the user may be placed within, with the main support members surrounding a significant portion of the leg. The main support members are adjustably coupled together by the coupling means such that they may alternatively move away and towards one another, as the various leg muscles of the user are being engaged by the user engagement means. The optional resistance means may be used to provide motion resistance.

  • Patent number: 10383395
Abstract: In every athletic event, each athlete generates and subjects their lower extremities to forces that are unique to that athlete's mass, speed and strength. These forces are also affected by the composition of the playing field surface, shoe design and construction and other factors. It is possible to determine, according to these factors, the level of force above which injury to the athlete's lower extremities is inevitable. This level of force is called the pre-injury force threshold. This pre-injury force threshold is then used to design and create an athletic shoe which will provide a force-mitigating deformation induced by forces equal to the particular athlete's pre-injury force threshold. This deformation of the athletic shoe prevents injury to the athlete's lower extremities.
