Abstract: An antibacterial medical biomaterial includes an acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, an antibacterial gel layer located on a surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, and an absorbable fiber layer located on a surface of the antibacterial gel layer. Sulfadiazine silver is on the surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material and/or within the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material. An absorbable fiber layer to which the sulfadiazine silver is attached, wherein the content of sulfadiazine silver in the absorbable fiber is 1 wt. %˜2 wt. %. The medical biomaterial is usable as an external medicine for treating wound infections relayed by burns or wounds, and for reducing the incidence of infection by using a conventional central venous catheter with a sulfadiazine silver antibacterial coating, so that the medical biomaterial loaded with sulfadiazine silver also has antibacterial activity consistent with sulfadiazine silver.

Compositions for practicing the subject methods are also described as well as dose units containing one or more of the subject compositions.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a braided silk scaffold with adjustable mechanical and degradation properties, and a preparation method and use thereof, belonging to the field of three-dimensional scaffold materials for tendon/ligament repair. The preparation method includes braiding at least one silk strand to form a silk core; placing 1-6 bundles of silk cores in a braiding machine, and braiding at least one layer of silk cladding on the surface of the silk cores to form a silk base frame; removing sericin from the silk base frame; soaking the silk base frame in a collagen solution with a concentration of 3-20 mg/ml, and cross-linking the silk base frame in a vacuum thermal cross-linking machine to obtain the silk scaffold. The braided silk scaffold with adjustable mechanical and degradation properties according to the present invention has good mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
Abstract: There is provided a formulation for skin rejuvenation comprising lyophilised umbilical cord plasma comprising at least one active chemokine, at least one growth factor and at least one cytokine; a transdermal carrier; and a liposomal base, wherein at least a portion of the lyophilised umbilical cord plasma and transdermal carrier are contained within liposomes of the liposomal base. There is also provided a dosage form for skin rejuvenation comprising 1-5% (w/w) lyophilised umbilical cord plasma comprising at least one active chemokine, at least one growth factor and at least one cytokine; 85-95% (w/w) polyethylene glycol; and 0.1-2% (w/w) gum acacia.
