Abstract: The present matter relates to a method and system for alerting unopened items in communications, particularly attachments and external resources referenced (e.g. Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) or other Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs), etc.), in communications such as email or meeting invite messages. The alerting may be triggered by a meeting reminder, telephone communication, search or other event. Alerting may be to senders, recipients or both.

Abstract: A graphical interactive visual response system and method is provided in which a graphical user interface provides such interactivity and visual response. A user can initiate contact with a representative using an application residing on a personal device, such as a mobile telephone or computer. The application (graphical interface) allows the user to interactively select options on a displayed menu, arrive at the appropriate service and initiate a connection with the representative. The connection is established when the user and representative are available, thereby avoiding hold and wait times typically associated with conventional interactive voice response system.

Abstract: A hardware and software platform for collaboratively reviewing prior group to group interactions while planning, producing and archiving new group to group interactions. The platform may be used to collaboratively create group to group interactions. The system may be used to link two or more stadia, movie theatres or homes so as to provide interaction between the groups at each location simultaneously as a game or other event takes place.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for content rate selection. The method includes selecting a content rate for play out of at least one frame transmitted from a media server to a media client via a wireless access network. Selection of the content rate is performed based on a statistical representation of a bandwidth available for transmission of frames.

Abstract: A system and method for dynamic configuration of the security modules for optimization of execution of security tasks are provided. The system includes: a mechanism for identifying the clients connected to the network; a client data collection unit that determines hardware/software configurations of each detected client; a security module selection and installation unit that selects required modules for each client; a statistics collection unit that collects the security tasks execution statistics from user modules and from client modules; and a configuration unit that configures the client and server modules based on the collected statistics in order to optimize execution of the security tasks.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software are disclosed that provide enhanced replication for message services. In one implementation, updates to a message source are replicated to message targets. The replication is monitored to identify an individual health of the replication for each of the message targets. A composite health of the replication is determined based on the individual health of the replication for each of the message targets. The updates to the message source are then controlled based on the composite health of the replication.

Abstract: In order that the application in the client terminal can be used continuously without being suspended temporarily, an information processing apparatus includes first processing means and a second processing section. That is, the information processing apparatus communicates via a network with a server including a first processing section of second processing means which including the first and the second processing section. The first processing means switches processing means which executes an application to either of the first or the second processing means. The second processing section executes a processing received from the first processing section, in case that the processing means is switched from the first processing means to the first processing section.

Abstract: A reconfiguration is distributed among multiple nodes of a cluster. Upon detecting an initiation of a reconfiguration of the cluster, reconfiguration functionality is delegated from the master node to one or more slave nodes in the cluster. Thus, multiple nodes perform reconfiguration functionality in parallel, such that one or more slave nodes perform delegated reconfiguration tasks that would conventionally be performed by the master node. The cluster reconfiguration can be in the form of one or more nodes joining or leaving the cluster. Data to facilitate the cluster reconfiguration can be transmitted from the master node to a slave node to which reconfiguration functionality is being delegated. Such data can include, for example, identifiers of nodes joining or leaving the cluster and/or information concerning the architecture and shared storage media of the cluster.

Abstract: A system for providing combined real-time data and live video of an enclosure. The real-time data may be overlayed on live video. Additionally, or instead, alarms and/or real-time control capabilities may be overlayed on the live video. An embedded server may be connected to sensors and cameras at the enclosure for providing the video with the overlaid information to a network. A user interface may obtain access to the overlaid video via the network.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a control terminal includes: a content information obtaining module; a content selector; an identifier converter; and a remote-control-server controller. The content information obtaining module obtains content information presented by a content sender. The content selector selects, from the content information, a content to be played. The identifier converter converts, if a device identifier of the content sender is identical to a device identifier of a content receiver, content information of the selected content into a content identifier for remote controlling in a remote control server, based on a conversion rule set in advance. Here, the remote control server controls remote operations with respect to content on the network. The remote-control-server controller sends, based on the content identifier for remote controlling, a play control message to the remote control server comprising a device identifier same as that of the content sender and of the content receiver.

Abstract: Configuration information from multiple sources about hardware and software of a storage system are collected and stored in a configuration database having an extensible framework. Common application program interfaces (API) are provided for storage utility applications to access the configuration database. A backup and restore engine collects and stores the configuration information at periodic intervals or on demand, maintains prior versions of the stored information in an archive, and restores the storage system with a selected version. A distributor engine applies format conversion and filtering to produce diagnostic bundles of configuration information for multiple utility applications. A graphical user interface provides an administrator with a set of tools for operating the backup and restore and distributor engines and for viewing, dumping, comparing, and validating the contents of selected versions in order to diagnose and solve configuration problems.

Abstract: A system and method for datacenter power management is disclosed. In particular embodiments, the method includes receiving, with a processor, a request for execution of an application. The method also includes for each of a plurality of datacenters, determining an amount of electricity required to execute the application at the respective datacenter. The method also includes, for each of the plurality of datacenters, determining a cost associated with executing the application at the respective datacenter based, at least in part, on the amount of electricity required to execute the application at the respective datacenter. The method further includes selecting one of the plurality of datacenters to execute the application based, at least in part, on the cost associated with executing the application at the respective datacenter and executing the application at the selected datacenter.

Abstract: A reservation request is received for a data transport session. The reservation request contains a requested class of communication service through the asynchronous network. The state of the network along the route is then preferably determined and at least one end-to-end route through the network is obtained. The route is based on the requested class of communication service and the state of the network. The data transport session is then controlled, such that data is forced to travel along at least one route through the asynchronous network. This is preferably done by controlling multiple data controllers dispersed along the at least one route by mapping specific data protocols to specific routes, or mapping specific data protocols to specific ports in each data controller. If a state of the asynchronous network indicates that the route cannot transport data in conformity to the class of communication service, then the route is changed to a backup route through the network.

Abstract: A hardware task manager for an adaptive computing system. The task manager indicates when input and output buffer resources are sufficient to allow a task to execute. The task can require an arbitrary number of input values from tasks. Likewise, output buffers must also be available before the task can start to execute and store results. The hardware task manager maintains a counter associated with each buffer. For input buffers, a negative value for the counter means that there is no data in the buffer and the buffer is not ready and the associated task cannot run. Predetermined numbers of bytes, or “units,” are stored into the input buffer and an associated counter is incremented. When the counter value transitions from a negative value to a zero the high-order bit of the counter is cleared indicating the input buffer has sufficient data and is available to be processed.

Abstract: A pre-existing reference number on a legacy website provided by a legacy website provider may be supplemented with an enhanced reference number capable of identifying an internet user engaged in a web session on the legacy website. A check may be made to establish whether the internet user's computing device has a state object, including a web user ID (wUID) unique to the internet user's computing device. A processor may create an enhanced reference number based on the pre-existing reference number upon receipt of a request, and an association between the wUID and the enhanced reference number may be stored in a database accessible by the website provider. The enhanced reference number may be made available to the user by displaying it in place of the pre-existing reference number on the legacy website via the web session.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing network communications are described. An example resource management system includes a communications manager configured to access information regarding communication protocols used by corresponding broker systems and to provide message translations based on an origin and/or destination of the message to be transmitted. A message processor is coupled to the communications manager and is configured to serialize incoming and/or outgoing broker messages and to facilitate queuing of incoming and outgoing message traffic with broker systems. A communications configurer is configured to track one or more communication attributes of broker systems and changes thereto to ensure communications between the resource management systems are broker systems are conducted in accordance with the communication attributes of the broker systems. A communications rules provider is configured to determine which broker system is to be communicated with in order to fulfill a resource request.

Abstract: Various arrangements for creating and using generic universal resource indicators are presented. To create a generic universal resource indicator, one or more parameters of a universal resource indicator may be identified. An interface that permits a parameter of the one or more parameters to be selected and mapped to a variable may be presented. A selection of the parameter for mapping may be received. An indication of the variable to map to the parameter of the selection may also be received. The generic universal resource indicator having a generic parameter corresponding to the parameter of the selection may be created.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing shared state within a distributed system with varying consistency and consensus semantics are described. In one configuration, a computing device receives a first plurality of objects representing the state of a first item and a second plurality of objects representing the state of a second item. The computing device generates a composed view of the state of each of the first item and the second item. The resulting composed views are transmitted using a reliable multicast protocol.

Abstract: A content router comprising a plurality of interfaces configured to receive and forward a plurality of interests for content and content data in a content oriented network (CON), a cache configured to store content data, and a memory component configured to maintain a forward information base (FIB) that associates content with one or more interfaces on which the interests and content data are received and forwarded, and an availability FIB (AFIB) that associates content data with one or more corresponding collaborative caching routers in the CON that cache the content data.
