  • Patent number: 9763233
Abstract: A user apparatus in a mobile communication system in which carrier aggregation is performed using a plurality of cells is disclosed. The user apparatus includes a processor that determines whether a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) is set in the user apparatus at a transmission timing of uplink control information, and determines to transmit the uplink control information by using the PUSCH when the PUSCH is set. The user apparatus also includes a transmitter that transmits the uplink control information to a radio base station using the PUSCH. The processor determines, when a PUSCH is set in a first cell in the plurality of cells, to transmit the uplink control information using the PUSCH. When no PUSCH is set in the first cell, the processor determines to transmit the uplink control information using a PUSCH in a second cell.

  • Patent number: 9692629
Abstract: A resource block (RB)-based multicarrier modulation (MCM) transmitter and receiver structure for spectral agile systems are disclosed. The transmitter and the receiver are capable of sharing opportunistically available and non-contiguous channels with other users. The RB-MCM partitions the available spectrum, contiguous or non-contiguous, into multiple RBs (same or different sizes), applies a baseband MCM or single carrier modulation, or coded single carrier or multicarrier schemes in each RB with a type of spectral leakage reduction technique, and applies RB modulation for each RB to modulate the signal from baseband to the frequency band of that RB. At the receiver, the received signal may be filtered and RB demodulation may be applied to put each RB signal in baseband and a baseband multicarrier or single carrier or coded single carrier or coded multicarrier demodulation may be applied to each RB signal. Different RBs may use different modulation schemes.

  • Patent number: 9660781
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose methods and related devices for sending and receiving uplink control signaling. On a terminal side, the terminal performs data processing and resource mapping separately for the uplink control signaling and uplink data that are scheduled by a base station, so as to obtain a frequency domain signal, where the performing resource mapping separately refers to mapping the data-processed uplink control signaling and uplink data to different resource block groups in a system bandwidth separately; and the terminal performs frequency-to-time conversion for the obtained frequency domain signal to obtain a time domain signal, and then sends the signal to the base station.

  • Patent number: 9622276
Abstract: A method for determining to establish a multi-protocol label switching traffic engineering tunnel. A first PE receives an IGP notification message including information of a Mesh Group to which a second PE belongs and role information of the second PE released by the second PE. Then, it determines, according to information of Mesh Groups to which the two belong, whether the two belong to a same Mesh Group. After determining that the two belong to the same Mesh Group, the first PE determines, according to role information of the two, whether to establish the MPLS TE tunnel to the second PE.

  • Patent number: 9603184
Abstract: A method is disclosed for coordinating a user equipment's communication with a network during tune back with C-DRX (connected mode discontinuous receive). When a user equipment tunes back to a network after a tune away or a signal fade, a scheduling request is sent to the network to indicate the tune back as quickly as possible. The user equipment waits for a downlink transmission from the network. When the user equipment does not receive the downlink transmission, the method determines if the connection between the user equipment and the network has been released. The sending of the first scheduling request and any additional scheduling requests is coordinated with the C-DRX configuration so as to maximize the battery savings of C-DRX and minimize the latency of the tune back process in case the user equipment has uplink data to send.

  • Patent number: 9591620
Abstract: A method permits a UE receiver to detect and report to the network a scrambling code collision (i.e., two neighbor cells transmitting with the same scrambling code while timing is aligned). The UE receiver decodes the PCCPCH's physical channel with all the associated broadcast information while a scrambling code collision at the UE is present. The UE reports SFN-SFN information to the network, to insure the UE mobility and then prepare the handover to a new detected cell. This process and a respective apparatus are usable in the presence of MIMO and further improve the detection of the scrambling code collision in the presence of MIMO.

  • Patent number: 9578476
Abstract: Exemplary methods in a network node of a radio access network (RAN) in a telecommunication system include receiving an indication from a network node in a core network that mobile terminated data is pending for a user equipment (UE), receiving a connection request from the UE, setting up a radio resource control (RRC) connection to the UE, releasing the RRC connection to the UE, setting a release timer value to a value sufficient to establish a mobile terminated communication by the network to the UE, and releasing the RRC connection to the UE when the release timer has expired. Exemplary methods in a network node of a RAN in a telecommunication system include keeping UE that is configured for long discontinuous reception (DRX) in idle mode, in RRC connected mode long enough to allow a network stored mobile terminated short message service (MT SMS) to be received by the UE.

  • Patent number: 9571344
Abstract: A process data transmitter transmits process data at defined recurring time intervals as a serial transmit data stream including data symbols at a defined symbol rate. A process data receiver samples the serial transmit data stream at a sampling rate which is higher than the symbol rate by a defined factor to thereby generate a serial receiver data stream having a plurality of sampling values per data symbol. The process data receiver subdivides the serial receiver data stream into data packets, each of which has a defined first number of sampling values. The process data receiver selects a defined second number of sampling values from the respective data packets. The second number is smaller than the first number by the defined factor and the sampling values selected from each data packet are equidistant from one another. The process data receiver processes the selected sampling values as received process data.

  • Patent number: 9571254
Abstract: A method and apparatus are presented for transmitting acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) signals in a wireless communication system. ACK/NACKs are spread using spreading codes of a spreading factor, the spreading factor being one of a first spreading factor equal to 2 and a second spreading factor equal to 4. One or more physical hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) indicator channel (PHICH) groups allocated in units of four resource elements are transmitted, each PHICH group carrying up to four ACK/NACK signals for the first spreading factor, and up to eight ACK/NACK signals for the second spreading factor. A total number of allocated PHICH groups for the first spreading factor is determined as twice a total number of allocated PHICH groups for the second spreading factor. A PHICH group index for an ACK/NACK is determined using a first function. A spreading code index for the ACK/NACK is determined using a second function.

  • Patent number: 9537546
Abstract: A system and method are provided to increase data rates available in mmWave wireless communication systems by adapting a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) in a next generation mmWave wireless communication system. The system and method advantageously employ the characteristics of mmWave antenna arrays, including multiple antenna elements in each antenna array, to implement the MIMO scheme by establishing multiple beamformed communication links between a mmWave transmitter and receiver. An outgoing signal is divided into multiple signal elements to correspond to the multiple beamformed links and each of the multiple signal elements is transmitted by the transmitter across a different one of the multiple beamformed links to be reassembled at the receiver. An antenna element allocation scheme is incorporated to assign specific numbers and configurations of antenna elements at each of the transmitted and receiver to each of the multiple beamformed communication links.
