Patent number: 8544774Abstract: A method of protecting a roller crusher, having two rollers separated by a gap, from uncrushable objects is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: detecting an uncrushable object in an in-feed stream of material, opening a gap between the rollers to a by-pass width, which is significantly larger than an operational width, such that the uncrushable object is permitted to pass through the gap, restricting an in-feed to the gap, such that material is fed to the gap at a restricted in-feed rate, determining that the uncrushable object has passed through the gap, reducing the gap to the operational width, and opening the in-feed to the gap, such that material is fed to the gap at an operational in-feed rate. A roller crusher having a protective system for protecting the roller crusher from uncrushable objects is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2012Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Metso Minerals Industries, Inc.Inventors: Keith Harbold, Vadim Reznitchenko

Patent number: 8459079Abstract: An auto-scraping apparatus for a work piece of a hard rail has a tracking device, a driving device and a tool device. The tracking device has a connecting frame, a moving frame, a lifting frame and a tool frame. The moving frame is movably connected to the connecting frame. The lifting frame is movably connected to the moving frame. The tool frame is rotatably connected to the lifting frame. The driving device is connected to the tracking device and has two linear motion units and a rotating motion unit. One of the linear motion units drives the moving frame and the other linear motion unit drives the lifting frame. The rotating motion unit is mounted in the tool frame and has a rotating shaft. The tool device is detachably connected to the driving device and has a tool carrier and a relieving tool.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2010Date of Patent: June 11, 2013Assignees: National Formosa University, Cheng Shiu UniversityInventors: Ying-Chien Tsai, Jia-Hao Li, Jeng-Nan Lee, Wen-Yuh Jywe

Patent number: 8439289Abstract: A cheese shredding apparatus has a table top with a rolling platform that uses 2 pairs of beveled wheels. A partitioned hopper for containing blocks of cheese. A pair of cutting grids located at opposite ends of a cutting block. A pair of push cube modules. A motor powers the rolling platform by way of a cam which converts a rotational motion from the motor into a linear motion which actuates the back and fro motion of the rolling platform. The beveled wheels roll on a pair of tracks which are held within the table top frame. The beveled wheels maintain a very precise and accurate tracking motion of the rolling platform as they move back and forth as guided by the tracks.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2010Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Inventor: Steeve Fontaine

Patent number: 8408036Abstract: A roll-flanging tool, including a bearing structure having a connector, by which the tool can be connected via a connection plane to an actuator which can be moved spatially. A first arm and a second arm are spread apart from each other and connected to each other in a connection portion which includes the connector. A first flanging roller is mounted on an end of the first arm which faces away from the connection plane, such that it can be rotated about a first rotational axis which extends along the first arm and pierces the connection plane. A second flanging roller is mounted on an end of the second arm which faces away from the connection plane, such that it can be rotated about a second rotational axis. The first rotational axis intersects or crosses a perpendicular dropped onto the second rotational axis, in or on the roll-flanging tool.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2008Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: FFT Edag Produktionssysteme GmbH & Co. Patent number: 8398353Abstract: A print server checks a job ticket for a print job to be processed. When a method of printing set in the printing attributes of the job ticket is case binding, a first thickness of a bookblock is calculated using the paper type set in the printing attributes. The print server calculates a second thickness of a bookblock using the paper type after a change. The print server changes the paper type set in the job ticket when the difference between the first thickness and the second thickness is within a permissible range.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2009Date of Patent: March 19, 2013Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yasuo Mori
