  • Patent number: 4212269
Abstract: An array of vertically spaced rows of poultry cages are mounted on opposite sides of A-frame end supports with the uppermost rows engaging and secured to one another along a corner to provide additional stability to the frame. Load transferring hooks are coupled between vertically spaced cages to provide support for the inwardly projecting ends of the cages while the cages at opposite ends of the subassembly are mounted to the legs of the A-frame by brackets. Longitudinally formed struts extend and are coupled along the top edge of each row of cages for providing longitudinal strength to the cages while simultaneously compressively gripping a manure shield draped over a rear inclined surface of each of the cages. Improved integrally formed tab means are formed in a support bracket at the end of each row of cages for interlocking subassemblies in an installation.

  • Patent number: 4212144
Abstract: A machine for cutting and conditioning forage comprises a main frame having, pivotally connected thereto, a cutter platform carrying a cutter bar and two counter-rotating transverse rolls for crushing the forage cut by the cutter bar; the cutter platform is attached at each side to the main frame by an upper side arm and a lower side arm the latter being a hydraulic actuator, the arrangement being such that when the hydraulic actuators are extended from the fully retracted position the upper side arms first turn about their pivots, allowing preliminary forward movement of the cutter platform with respect to the main frame, before they meet respective abutments which prevent further movement, whereupon the cutter platform turns about the pivots fixing it to the upper side arms and is raised from the ground.

  • Patent number: 4209909
Abstract: Styluses defining a hinge axis in a dental articulator are received in guide block pathways defined by side walls and a curved upper wall. The blocks are rotatably mounted to vary the slope of the upper wall. A supply of guide blocks is provided having a medial wall with a rear curved portion which varies for different blocks based on average values. The user selects the blocks having the desired medial wall to provide the desired side shift. In one arrangement, the side walls are formed as a unit and removeably mounted on the upper wall and the user selects the side wall unit from a supply of units providing different degrees of side shift movement. In another form, the medial wall is transversely adjustable.

  • Patent number: 4209293
Abstract: This invention relates to a driving mechanism of an air bearing journaled handpiece for dental treatment, the mechanism being improved in that even when a load contrary to the direction of rotation of a tool shaft such as cutting of the teeth acts upon the tool shaft in a dental operation, rotation of the tool shaft does not stop because of load resistance but enables the heretofore, unmaterialized medium-speed cutting (hereinafter referred to as "extension to medium-speed rotation") and makes it possible to obtain improved torque during high-speed rotation in addition to the extension to medium-speed rotation.
