  • Patent number: 9342279
Abstract: Traceability management to align IT solution artifacts with business goals in a service oriented architecture environment is provided. A pattern matching framework is provided for generating patterns and transformation enablers for architectural artifacts based on specific business requirements. Patterns that are applicable to a selected set of artifacts or model are provided to an architect, who may then select a particular subset of the patterns to apply to the set of artifacts or model in the SOA solution design to speed up and simplify the design process. Providing applicable or candidate patterns for selection to the architect in the views reduces the possible ambiguity in architectural artifact-pattern matching and selection. These solution patterns may be used as a guide when configuring and linking architectural artifacts and models.

  • Patent number: 9202185
Abstract: A model is used to provide a user interface to track flows through at least one application of a computer system. The model relates the structural aspects of the at least one application to a behavioral model such as a business transaction hierarchy. The structural part of the model includes linked Vertex and Edge records. Vertex records for different instances of a component can be aggregated to provide a single vertex or node for display in a user interface. A Vertex record is linked to an Agent record and a Metric Path record. The Edge records identify tail and head components of a call. A set of Edge records can be associated with a Transaction record in the behavioral part of the model. A Transaction record can be associated with a Business Transaction Record, and a Business Transaction record can be associated with a Business Service Record.

  • Patent number: 9092603
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and computer program products described and claimed that provide for automatically and positively determining that a customer interfacing with one business platform application using a platform-specific customer identifier is the same customer that is interfacing with another business platform application using another platform-specific customer identifier. Once the positive determination of same customer is made, a federated identifier key is generated and applied to all of the platforms, so as to globally identify the customer across multiple enterprise-wide platforms. As such, the present invention eliminates the labor-intensive need to manually analyze customer data to determine if a customer interfacing with one platform is the same customer interfacing with another platform.

  • Patent number: 8799003
Abstract: The present invention is a method, system and apparatus for dynamically binding principal services to activities in a business process in a cross-enterprise business process management system. In a preferred aspect of the invention, the system can include a business process specification document processing engine configured to process business process specification documents in which each of the documents defines a business process. A deployment service can be coupled to the engine and programmed to generate and deploy partner link instances for corresponding partner links specified in the documents. Finally, a link base authority can be configured to notify each partner link instance when an endpoint reference to a principal service has changed. Notably, the business process specification documents can include BPEL documents. As such, the business process specification document processing engine can include a BPEL4WS run-time engine.

  • Patent number: 8655705
Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to methods and apparatus to optimize a supply plan through a hybrid meta-heuristic approach based on genetic algorithms to optimize inventory and generate a supply plan. The apparatuses include a supply chain planner that interacts with the processes of a supply chain network. To provide a complete optimization for the type of platform being deployed in theater a heuristic algorithm is devised to decompose the supply plan problem into a production center schedule and an asset routing problem, which will be tackled one after the other. The decomposed supply plan problem is solved with different heuristic algorithms. Namely, genetic algorithms are used to optimize the supply plans based on ever changing set of operational demands from in theater and the priority of those demands to the assigned depots, while efficient constructive heuristics are used to deal with footprint and timing constraints.

  • Patent number: 8645182
Abstract: A computer implemented method for integrating a calendar and task scheduler to enable automatic scheduling of meetings and assignment of tasks based on priority. With the illustrative embodiments, a task in a user's calendaring system may be split into multiple time blocks, and each time block for the task may then be scheduled around meetings in a user's calendar. Tasks that are scheduled in the user's calendar may also be automatically rescheduled when meetings within the user's calendar change. Tasks may be scheduled over lower priority meetings in the user's calendar as needed in order to meet the due dates assigned to the tasks. The illustrative embodiments also allow for automatically adjusting meeting or task priorities based on policies, and identifying classes of activities that may be performed concurrently.
