  • Patent number: 10986549
Abstract: A method includes: sending, by a first network device, a first configuration message to a terminal device, where the first configuration message is used to instruct the terminal device to configure a second ciphering/deciphering function associated with a second network device and share a first data packet numbering/reordering function, and the terminal device is configured with the first data packet numbering/reordering function and a first ciphering/deciphering function associated with the first network device; and receiving, by the first network device, a first configuration complete message sent by the terminal device. In this embodiment, the first configuration message is used so that the terminal device may configure the function associated with the second network device. Therefore, during handover, the terminal device may simultaneously perform data transmission with the second network device and the first network device, to reduce or avoid a service interruption time caused by handover.

  • Patent number: 10972294
Abstract: Techniques for allowing access based online charging in cases of multiple user agents (multi-UAs) scenarios where the instances are registered to different telephony application servers (TASs) are discussed herein. For example, a user device may support a native number and multiple virtual numbers linked via a user account. When servicing a call, the user device may determine a served number to service the call from. If the served number is not the native number but a virtual number, the native-line server may handle the call session, but the online charging session will be handled by the virtual-line server. The native-line server may use session initiation protocol (SIP) information to send updated information for charging parameters to the virtual-line server including network access transfer for accuracy in online charging logic.

  • Patent number: 10972906
Abstract: A network device receives a location update message from a mobile network switch. The location update message indicates that a mobile device is registered with the mobile network switch. The location update message includes an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) associated with the mobile device. The network device determines, based at least on the IMSI, a plurality of MSISDNs associated with the mobile device, including a first MSISDN that is enabled for calling and a second MSISDN that is not enabled for calling. The network device transmits, in response to the location update message, subscriber data to a database associated with the mobile network switch, which associates the IMSI with the first MSISDN.

  • Patent number: 10945096
Abstract: Mobility observations may be analyzed to create so-called mobility genes, which may be intermediate data forms from which various analyses may be performed. The mobility genes may include a trajectory gene, which may describe a trajectory through which a user may have travelled. The trajectory gene may be analyzed from raw location observations and processed into a form that may be more easily managed. The trajectory genes may be made available to third parties for analysis, and may represent a large number of location observations that may have been condensed, smoothed, and anonymized. By analyzing only trajectories, a third party may forego having to analyze huge numbers of individual observations, and may have valuable data from which to make decisions.

  • Patent number: 10932132
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be in coverage of a local private non-Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) wireless network (e.g. a Wi-Fi network) of an enterprise. This non-3GPP wireless network may be part of a private communication system of the enterprise which further includes a local private 3GPP network (e.g. a Long-Term Evolution or “LTE” based network). When the non-3GPP wireless network advertises “single-authentication” support, the UE may complete authentication for non-3GPP access, obtain a Master Session Key (MSK) from the authentication, and generate an Access Security Management Entity (ASME) key (KASME) based on the MSK. In further implementations, the UE may obtain a Globally Unique Temporary Identifier (GUTI) from the non-3GPP wireless network. Subsequently, the UE may perform an attach procedure with the local private 3GPP network without performing an authentication procedure, presenting the GUTI that it obtained from the non-3GPP wireless network for 3GPP access.

  • Patent number: 10893455
Abstract: Methods are performed by a first radio node for handling mobility of a wireless device in a communication network having partitioned sets of functionalities. Each set of functionalities belongs to a network slice and is separated from other sets of functionalities out of a total set of functionalities. The first radio node transmits information indicating one or more slice identities supported by the first radio node to a second radio node. The first radio node receives information indicating one or more slice identities supported by the second radio node from the second radio node. The first radio node obtains a support indication indicating the slice ID the wireless device supports, during a connection setup of the wireless device to the network slice. The first radio node initiates a mobility procedure towards the second radio node taking the information in the received response message and the obtained support indication into account.

  • Patent number: 10880691
Abstract: A determination is made that a mobile device is associated with a reference activity of a user based on motion, orientation, rotational, magnetic field, and/or location data provided by sensors of the device. Activity data associated with the reference activity is obtained from the sensor-provided data. The activity data is recorded on the device for a configured period of time after which it is determined that the device is no longer performing the reference activity. The retained activity data for the reference activity is sent from the device to a network-based behavior analyzer when a network connection is available from the device. The network-based behavior analyzer derives user behaviors for the reference activity based on the activity data.
