Abstract: An image forming apparatus registers a Web application provided by a server. When receiving an instruction to select the registered Web application, the image forming apparatus acquires information for performing the Web application in response to the received selection instruction, and stores the information as cache information. When receiving an instruction to cancel the registration of the Web application, the image forming apparatus cancels the registration of the Web application in response to the received instruction, and deletes the cache information corresponding to the Web application in which the registration is cancelled in the stored pieces of cache information.

Abstract: A letter printing system includes: a data processing unit for receiving an instruction to print document data containing letter data of a plurality of letters, generating print data and outputting the print data to a printing unit; and the printing unit for performing, for each letter, printing on a paper sheet for envelope and a paper sheet for enclosure according to the print data and outputting the paper sheets in the order of printing, wherein the data processing unit determines a letter boundary of each letter in the document data and sequentially outputs print data of each letter to the printing unit, and the printing unit adjusts the order of pieces of page data forming the print data of each letter according to a predetermined order of output of the paper sheet for envelope and the paper sheet for enclosure for performing inserting and sealing operation, and performs printing.

Abstract: Provided is an HNB gateway device capable of, while in an operation in a sleep mode, deactivating function units other than functions units associated with a mode check message and a sleep mode release request message from another HNB-GW, and thereby enabling a power saving operation. An HNB gateway device (2) includes a function to obtain a usage rate of the HNB gateway device, relays signals between a switching center and an HNB, and transits to a sleep mode when the usage rate reaches or falls below a predetermined value. The HNB gateway device includes means (HNB-GW list management unit 23) for changing, upon transition to the sleep mode, an HNB gateway list in the HNB performing HNB registration on the HNB gateway device using RPC:SetParameterValues from an HMS.

Abstract: A print control device acquires image data. Each pixel data has a gradation value represented by a first number of levels of gradation. The print control device acquires a first error matrix and a second error matrix and generates print image data representing an image by performing a halftone process on the image data using the first and second error matrices to convert each gradation value in the image data into a set of dot data. Each dot data represents one of a second number of types of dot formation. The second number is smaller than the first number. The print control device uses the first error matrix for pixel data corresponding to a pixel to be printed in a forward direction. The print control device uses the second error matrix for pixel data corresponding to a pixel to be printed in a reverse direction.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of buffers, an auxiliary storage unit, a data receiving unit, a data transmitting unit, an asynchronous data write unit, a data prefetch unit, a data deletion unit, and an image forming unit. The data receiving unit inputs data into one of the plurality of buffers. The data transmitting unit outputs the stored data. The asynchronous data write unit stores the stored data into the auxiliary storage unit. The data prefetch unit prefetches, if no data to be output exists in another one of the plurality of buffers, the data stored in the auxiliary storage unit to the another one of the plurality of buffers. The data deletion unit deletes the data, transmitting of which has been completed. The image forming unit performs image formation for the data as page data.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus transmits, when a function which cooperates with a function providing apparatus is added, information on the added function to a management server, and changes a failure monitoring setting according to the returned monitoring condition. If a failure occurs, the image forming apparatus generates, if the failure is attributable to the function providing apparatus, failure information indicating that the failure is attributable to the function providing apparatus, and otherwise, the image forming apparatus generates failure information on the failure to transmit to the management server. Upon receiving the information on the added function from the image forming apparatus, the management server returns the monitoring condition corresponding to the added function to arrange for maintenance of the image forming apparatus. If the failure is attributable to the function providing apparatus, the management server does not arrange for maintenance of the image forming apparatus.

The message is processed to detect one or more key words. A template related to the one or more key words is determined. The template is associates one or more portions of the message with one or more tags. Based on the determining, the data from the message is extracted using the template.

As the taken image is edited, the control means displays the additional thumbnail of the edited image data in addition to a thumbnail of the taken image data on the display means to allow each of the thumbnail and the additional thumbnail to be selected as the print image.

The printer inputs a print request for printing an intermediate print job corresponding to the user ID to the printer driver of an application server. Abstract: In one embodiment, enablement data, indicative of an enablement state of a functionality at a network-connected printer, is received from the printer. Fulfillment data, indicative of a fulfillment state of a condition to the enablement of the functionality at the printer, is received. It is determined whether the enablement data is consistent with the fulfillment data. Responsive to determining that the enablement data is inconsistent with the fulfillment data, a change instruction is sent to the printer over a network to cause a change in the enablement state to another state that is consistent with the fulfillment data.
