Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for classifying shorthand item descriptors in accordance with an enterprise catalog. An enterprise data management system uses one more models to determine items in the enterprise catalog that match a shorthand descriptor of an item. Shorthand item descriptors may originate from various transaction data such as at point-of-sale (POS) machines or online ordering systems. The enterprise data management system uses a first model to determine a normalized representation of the shorthand item descriptor. The enterprise data management system furthers used a second model to classify the normalized representation as one or more items included in the enterprise catalog, where the second model is trained through a supervised machine learning process using data corresponding to an enterprise catalog of one or more particular enterprises.

Abstract: An online system may receive, from a user device, a request to view, at a graphical user interface, available entries of a third-party system. The third-party system may operate multiple physical locations. The operation of each physical location is documented by a time-sensitive dataset which includes multiple dynamic item entries. The online system may retrieve a geographical location associated with the user device and determine a subset of physical locations operated by the third-party system that are eligible for further selection based on distances of the physical locations from the geographical location associated with the user device. The online system may determine a metric measuring a size of the dynamic item entries available in the time-sensitive dataset and select one of the physical locations based on the metric. The online system may cause for display the dynamic item entries in the time-sensitive dataset associated with the selected physical location.

The message exchange system may select the service provider that provides the best combination of quality of service, value, and delivery channel given the customer's specific needs. The data management engine may be configured to receive art objects and words. The randomization engine may automatically generate personalized artwork by selectively arranging a subset of the art objects and words. The randomization engine may also be configured to automatically generate a rendering of the personalized artwork, selectively save the rendering of the personalized artwork based upon a save selection by a user, and selectively generate a different rendering of the personalized artwork based upon an edit selection by the user.

From a multi-dimensional tensor generated from cooccurrences of items in orders from various users, the online concierge system generates item embeddings and user embeddings in a common latent space by decomposing the multi-dimensional tensor. From items included in an order, the online concierge system generates an order embedding from item embeddings of the items included in the order. Scores for candidate items are determined based on similarity of item embeddings for the candidate items to the order embedding. Candidate items are selected based on their scores, with the selected candidate items identified to the user.

A service request is then sent to a service provider identified by the LME computing system and selected by the service user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing transactions are provided. An aspect of the transactions is executed with a third party transaction service provider that may indicate its aspect of the transaction was a failure when in fact it was successful. After conveying this failure to a user, the system subsequently learns that the aspect of the transaction was not a failure. The system attempts to associate such a transaction with another transaction based on a comparison between the transactions. Upon determining that there is an association between the second transaction and the first transaction, the system communicates to a user options for how to proceed with the first and second transactions. One of the options is to proceed with the original transaction. If the original transaction goes ahead, this saves system resources associated with cancelling the first transaction.
