  • Patent number: 6609081
Abstract: Processor-implemented monitor and control modules gather operating data from the rectifier units, battery connection units and power distribution units. From these data, statistical operating data are calculated and stored in a database managed by the resident processor within the power system control unit. The system expansion analysis module analyzes the statistical data in view of a set of predetermined warning and alarm threshold parameters, which may be factory specified or user settable. If an alarm or upgrade condition is detected, the system expansion analysis module generates an upgrade notification that is optionally sent in a variety of forms including local audible or on screen notification, remote alarm through network connection to a remote computer, via internet web browser and e-mail message. The system can also optionally initiate automated order processing to place orders for upgrade or expansion equipment and installation services.

  • Patent number: 6598001
Abstract: A method for automatic analysis of signals acquired by one or more elastic or acoustic wave pickups to automatically locate with high precision, at least one significant instant such as the time of first arrival on each pickup (ti) and/or the end time (tf) of these signals. The method comprises determining the pseudoperiod corresponding to the inverse of the dominant frequency of the frequency spectrum of each acquired signal, coding each acquired signal so as to form a binary coded signal in reference to a first threshold value depending on the acquired signal, forming for each of them an integral signal by stacking of the binary coded signal on a sliding window in order to determine a second threshold value, and positioning the significant instant sought (ti, tf) on each acquired signal in reference to an instant where the corresponding integral signal reaches this second threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6591225
Abstract: A method and system for evaluating and optimizing the performance of a combined-cycle power plant. The optimization system combines a plant model that predicts performance of a combined-cycle power plant under varying environmental and operational conditions with an economic model that predicts the operating economics of the combined-cycle power plant. The optimization system predicts the operational control set points (i.e., variables) of a combined-cycle power plant to achieve a profitable operating condition for a particular combination of environmental, operational, and economic conditions.

  • Patent number: 6577986
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention is a method for determining variability in a measurement system using a measurement repeatability and reproducibility system coupled to a plurality of respondent systems by a network. The method includes determining a definition of items to be measured. The definition of the items to be measured are provided to the respondent systems. Measurements are provided from the respondent systems to the measurement repeatability and reproducibility system. The measurement repeatability and reproducibility system determines one of measurement repeatability and measurement reproducibility in response to the measurements.

  • Patent number: 6571201
Abstract: A fuel dispenser includes data type aware SGML processing capabilities allowing it to efficiently process received data having a variety of data types. Such received data typically includes fuel dispenser configuration information. Further benefits related to data type aware SGML processing within the fuel dispenser include the ability to transfer information in a data type aware SGML format from the fuel dispenser, such as diagnostics data, to a remote system. Data type aware SGML data definitions facilitate conversion of the data type aware SGML-formatted diagnostics data into a machine format usable by the remote system. Preferably, the fuel dispenser includes an HTTP server for communicating with remote client's systems that employ data type aware SGML-capable, web browsers.

  • Patent number: 6539324
Abstract: It is one object of the present invention to eliminate redundant testing steps from an operation for testing the search function of a content addressable memory having a priority encoder. Before testing is conducted, background data that differ from test data are written (step 21). Then, the background data are read (step 22) and are tested (step 23). The address having the lowest priority is designated (step 26). And the test data are written thereto (step 27). Following this, the search operation is performed (step 28) to determine whether test addresses match search addresses (step 29). Then, the address having the second lowest priority is designated (step 26), and the above processing is repeated for all the addresses (step 32).

  • Patent number: 6522989
Abstract: A system and method for static timing analysis of an integrated circuit which is clocked via various clock signals, including phase-type and pulse-type clocks. Based upon characteristics of the clocks in relation to a reference clock signal, a timing budget and window duration are determined by reference to a look up table.
