  • Patent number: 6909976
Abstract: A threshold voltage model with an impurity concentration profile in a channel direction taken into account is provided in the pocket implant MOSFET. With penetration length of the implanted pocket in the channel direction and the maximum impurity concentration of the implant pocket used as physical parameters, the threshold voltage model is obtained by linearly approximating the profile in the channel direction. By analytically solving the model by using a new threshold condition with inhomogeneous profile taken into account, the threshold voltage can be accurately obtained. Based on thus obtained model, the threshold voltage can be predicted and can be used for circuit design.

  • Patent number: 6907374
Abstract: A self-calibrating sigma-delta converter (SCADC) functions in a calibration mode and in an operational mode. In the calibration mode, a test circuit of the SCADC generates test signals that are periodic rectangular voltage waveforms. Each test signal has a dc component with a precise voltage amplitude, as well as harmonic components. A low-pass filter of a sigma-delta converter (SDC) within the SCADC filters out the harmonic components. A digital calibration processing circuit within the SCADC uses the precise voltage amplitudes to generate digital correction factors that compensate for dc offset error, gain error and INL error of the SDC. In the operational mode, the SDC receives an analog operational signal and outputs an operational digital data stream. The digital calibration processing circuit uses the correction factors to compensate for dc offset error, gain error and INL error in the operational digital data stream and outputs a corrected digital data stream.

  • Patent number: 6907375
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for remotely analyzing and affirmatively notifying appropriate personnel of problems and events associated with an oil recovery system—comprising hundreds of oil rigs over a vast geographic area. The results of selected Health Checks, which are run on each oilrig, are reported to a central server. The central server populates a data base for the oil recovery system, displays a red/yellow/green color coded electronic notification and status for an entire oil recovery system and affirmatively alerts appropriate personnel of actions required to address events associated with an oilrig in an oil recovery system. The diagnostics run at each oilrig are configurable at the individual rig. The present invention provides a dynamic oilrig status reporting protocol that enables population and display of a tree node structure representing an entire oil recovery system status on a single screen at a top level.

  • Patent number: 6901355
Abstract: A method for correcting non-linearities of an output signal of an electrical component with the aid of a characteristics map that is defined by discrete interpolation points. In this context, the adjacent interpolation points of the characteristics map are ascertained as a function of at least one signal influencing the non-linearities of the output signal. Interpolation is carried out between these interpolation points, and a corresponding correction signal is ascertained as a function of the or each signal by an interpolation. The output signal of the electrical component is corrected as a function of the correction signal. To improve the correction of non-linear transfer characteristics and/or temperature responses of the electrical component, it is proposed that the or each signal for addressing the characteristics map be high-pass filtered, and the correction signal be ascertained as a function of the or each signal by the interpolation and a subsequent low-pass filtering.
