Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.4 represents an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms,R.sup.5 represents a linear or branched alkylene radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the chain which may be substituted by groups which are not reactive under the applied conditions, and R.sup.6 represents hydrogen or a branched alkyl radical having from 3 to 10 carbon atoms with a secondary or tertiary N-.alpha.-C atom, are prepared by anodic alkoxylation of lactams of the formula ##STR2## with an alcohol of the formula R.sup.4 OH, in which formulae R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 have the aforesaid meaning, in the presence of at least one alkali metal or tetraalkylammonium tetrafluoroborate, hexafluoroborate or nitrate as conducting salt, at a temperature of up to about 100.degree. C. in an electrolytic cell with stationary or flowing electrolyte. Some of the products are novel.
Abstract: Solutions of certain hydrogenated ergopeptide alkaloids in mixtures of pharmacologically acceptable alcohols and water have improved stability. Preferred solvents are mixtures of ethanol, propylene glycol and glycerol containing from 15-40% wt. of water and having dielectric constants between 34 and 46. With these solutions it is not essential to carry out the filing operation under an inert atmosphere.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of loweralkyl 2-(N-R'-pyrryl)-.alpha.- loweralkanoic acid esters in increased yield and/or isomeric purity, and copper (II) 1,3-diketonate, copper (II) salicylaldehyde, copper (II) monoamino-1,3-diketonate, and copper (II) salicylaldimine complexes useful as promoting agents for said process.
Abstract: Pyrrolo[1,2-a]indole compounds having in free base form the formulas ##STR1## where R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are lower alkyl; R.sub.4 is lower alkyl, phenyl, lower alkoxy or ##STR2## in which R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 are hydrogen, lower alkyl, phenyl or benzyl; R.sub.5 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; A is O or NH; and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are lower alkyl, phenyl, or carbo(lower)alkoxy.
