  • Patent number: 10822109
Abstract: Aircraft and methods and systems for determining airspeed of an aircraft. The methods and systems allow for calculation of airspeed in near-ground and on-ground aircraft operation. A GPS altitude and a vertical acceleration of the aircraft are obtained for a current time frame. A geometric altitude for the previous time frame is determined, and the difference between the GPS altitude and geometric altitude are combined with the vertical acceleration to calculate a geometric altitude rate of change. The geometric altitude rate of change is used to calculate a pressure altitude rate of change, which is used to calculate a pressure altitude for the aircraft. A static pressure is calculated from the pressure altitude, and the airspeed is calculated using the static pressure.

  • Patent number: 10780689
Abstract: Method and apparatus for coating selected regions of a surface of a substrate with a film are disclosed. A cyclically moveable transfer member has an imaging surface which is coated with individual particles formed of, or coated with a thermoplastic polymer, and substantially all particles that are not in direct contact with the imaging surface are removed so as to leave a uniform monolayer particle coating on the imaging surface. Selected regions of the imaging surface are exposed to radiation to render the particles tacky within the regions, and the coated imaging surface and the substrate are pressed against one another to cause transfer of only the particles rendered tacky in the coating, such that the transferred particles form a film on the substrate. The monolayer on the imaging surface of the transfer member is replenished with fresh thermoplastic particles and the cycle repeats.

  • Patent number: 10720168
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for time-synchronizing sample data from independent recording devices utilizing samples tagged from a highly accurate time source. Datasets comprising samples representing a signal over a period of time are received from separate recording devices. A number of samples in each dataset are tagged indicating that the sample was taken immediately after a pulse in a PPS signal from a highly accurate time source onboard the recording device. The indices of the PPS-tagged samples, along with corresponding time values, are extracted from the datasets, and a set of common time values between the datasets is determined. A pair of frames of a specific length are extracted from each dataset aligned on the PPS-tagged samples corresponding to the common time values and comparative analysis is performed on the pair of frames.
