  • Patent number: 11729063
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided herein for providing a visually guided topology wiring scheme. As described herein, after determining that a first end of a cable has been inserted at a first port of a first peer device, a wiring application may reference a topology file to identify a second port of a second peer device with which the first peer device is intended to have a link. Subsequently, the wiring application may activate an indicator associated with the second port to mimic an indicator associated with the first port. For example, the wiring application may cause both indicators associated with each port to flash according to a same or similar flashing pattern, to produce or illuminate at a similar or identical color (e.g., approximately the same color), to flash at approximately a same rate, or by substantially synchronizing a flashing of each indicator.

  • Patent number: 11729081
Abstract: In an approach to optimize server connection timeout errors in a cloud environment, embodiments create a knowledge corpus associated with connection timeout patterns based on historical learning of transaction parameters and predicts a criticality of a transaction based on one or more identified contextual situations. Further, embodiments dynamically adjust a connection timeout range of the transaction based on the predicted criticality and one or more identified contextual situations of the transaction, and selectively identify a connection timeout range for the transaction based on an evaluation of the one or more contextual situations. Additionally, embodiments analyze generated timeout errors on a remote server from within a service mesh, and adjust timeout values of the transaction based on the analyzed generated timeouts errors. Responsive to the transaction receiving a timeout error, embodiments output a recommended timeline detailing when the transaction can be reinitiated.

  • Patent number: 11706090
Abstract: A system for troubleshooting network problems is disclosed. A model can use demographic information, network usage information, and network membership information to determine an importance of a problem. The importance of the problem for the user who reported the problem, a number of other users affected by the problem, and the importance of the problem to the other users can be used to determine a priority for resolving the problem. Before and after a work order is executed to resolve the problem, network metrics can be gathered, including aggregate network metrics, and automatically presented in various user interfaces. The analysis of the metrics can be used to update a database of which work orders are assigned in response to which problems.

  • Patent number: 11700313
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for seamlessly redirecting network data between a client and a remote server. In one exemplary aspect, the method comprises receiving, at a remote server, the network data via a first remote desktop protocol (RDP) channel, wherein the network data is encapsulated and transmitted by a client device configured to communicate with the remote server. The method further comprises replacing a MAC address listed in the network data with a MAC address of a logical network adapter on the remote server, and placing received network packets into a network driver of the logical network adapter, wherein the logical network adapter transfers received data in an operating system of the remote server such that a server-side application on the remote server receives network packets from the client device.

  • Patent number: 11683201
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for cloning a set of one or more applications implemented by a first set of machines connected through a first logical network that defines a virtual private cloud (VPC) in a set of one or more datacenters. The method detects that the first logical network does not have sufficient resources to process a set of network traffic destined for the set of one or more applications implemented by the first set of machines. Based on said detecting, the method uses a set of network configuration data that configures a set of logical forwarding elements (LFEs) of the first logical network to define a cloned, second logical network for connecting a cloned, second set of machines that implement a second set of one or more applications. The method uses the cloned, second logical network to process at least a subset of the network traffic destined to the set of applications.

  • Patent number: 11677797
Abstract: In various embodiments, a subsequence-based encoding application generates a convex hull of subsequence encode points based on multiple encoding points and a first subsequence included in a set of subsequences that are associated with a media title. The subsequence-based encoding application then generates a first encode list that includes multiple subsequence encode points based on the first convex hull. Notably, each subsequence encode point included in the first encode list is associated with a different subsequence. The subsequence-based encoding application selects a first subsequence encode point included in the first encode list based on a first variability constraint that is associated with a media metric. The subsequence-based encoding application then replaces the first subsequence encode point included in the first encode list with a second subsequence encode point to generate a second encode list.

  • Patent number: 11677754
Abstract: Computer security techniques are described. One example provides a security module. The security module executes on a computing system and determines whether to allow a user or a program (e.g., native executable, script, etc.) associated with the user to access a resource, such as by reading, writing, or executing a file. This decision is based at least in part on whether an access control list that is associated with the resource specifies that a source (e.g., IP address, hardware address) that is associated with the user is allowed to access the resource. This decision can also or instead be based on whether the computing system is executing in maintenance mode, such as in single-user diagnostic mode.

  • Patent number: 11659063
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices may be used to support freshness-based processing of requests. Freshness-based processing may involve the service layer examining the age of stored content (e.g., resource representation) that it hosts and determining whether it is fresh enough to satisfy a retrieve or discovery request with a specified freshness requirement. If not fresh, the service layer can contact an application to refresh the content. In addition, freshness-based processing can also involve the service layer examining the semantic state of a command oriented update request to determine whether its state is fresh or not with respect to prior commands processed by the service layer. For example, the service layer may compare stored content associated with controlling a particular application (e.g. door is locked) and against the semantic content of an update request (e.g., unlock door) to determine whether it is the same (e.g., stale) or not (e.g., fresh).
