Abstract: According to an example aspect, there is provided a method for obtaining profile information by a node of a distributed network. Need for providing profile information for a user by a node of a second local private network is detected. A profile request transaction is provided to a public distributed ledger for obtaining profile information associated with the user. Profile information associated with the user is received from a providing node capable of accessing a first private distributed ledger storing the profile information. At least some of the received user profile information is provided for at least one device connected to the second local private network.

Abstract: System and method for supporting node role attributes in a high performance computing environment. In accordance with an embodiment, a node role attribute can comprise a vendor defined subnet management attribute. When a subnet manager attempts to discover a high performance computing environment, such as an InfiniBand subnet, or a switch topology, identifying a topology is quite complex when subnet manager can only observe connectivity, without context behind the connectivity (the roles of the different nodes in the connectivity). However, when a subnet has a node role attribute enabled, the subnet manager can map the interconnect more effectively as it can discover not only the connectivity during the initial sweep, but it can also discover the role of each node discovered, thus leading to a more efficient interconnect discovery.

Abstract: A method of communication over a cellular telecommunications network using an electronic device comprises communicating a session control signal between the electronic device and the cellular telecommunications network on a first radio channel provided by the cellular telecommunications network. The session control signal comprises identification data that identifies a remote party. The cellular telecommunications network uses the identification data to establish an IP-based communication session with the remote party. Content data for the IP-based communication session is communicated between the electronic device and the cellular telecommunications network on a second radio channel provided by the cellular telecommunications network.

Abstract: An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes logic circuitry embedded in at least one of a memory controller, network interface and peripheral control hub to process a function as a service (FaaS) function call embedded in a request. The request is formatted according to a protocol. The protocol allows a remote computing system to access a memory that is coupled to the memory controller without invoking processing cores of a local computing system that the memory controller is a component of.

Abstract: In a fault root cause determining method, a management device obtains a fault feature of a target network in which a fault occurs. The fault feature is determined based on a knowledge graph of the target network in which the fault occurs. The knowledge graph includes a network entity and an abnormal event entity. The abnormal event entity is connected to an abnormal network entity. The abnormal network entity is a network entity that generates an abnormal event in the target network. The abnormal event entity is configured to indicate the abnormal event generated by the abnormal network entity. A type of the network entity is a network device, an interface, a protocol, or a service. The management device determines a fault root cause of the target network based on the fault feature.

Abstract: An forum facilitator device is provided that allows for a controlled environment to provide a secure forum for residents to provide communications to other registered users of the secure forum. The communications are provided through posts made in the secure forum and through other types of communications from the inmate such as but not limited to emails and text messages. The forum facilitator device operates the secure forum and implements rules to control what is posted on the secure forum, who is able to access the secure forum, and what entities are allowed to view and interact with residents of the controlled environment.

Abstract: Presented herein are methodologies for tracking a link state of a physical network connection and selectively reporting the link state to virtual machines that rely on the physical network connection. A method includes receiving an indication, at a hypervisor, which is running on a host computer and which instantiates a virtual switch, that a physical link interconnecting the host computer to a network has failed; determining that the physical link serves the virtual switch; determining whether link state tracking is enabled for the physical link; and when link state tracking is enabled for the physical link, notifying a virtual machine, which is running on the host computer and which is being served by the virtual switch, that a connection between the virtual machine and the network has failed.

Abstract: Techniques for adjusting the streaming of content by a media player device based on a user's location, orientation, or attention relative to the media player device are provided. Such techniques may include, while streaming media content to a media player device, modifying one or more characteristics of the streaming media content based on an indication of user attention levels. The indication of user attention levels may be determined by receiving a signal from a personal computing device associated with a user, and using such signal to determine an indication of the attention of the user to the media player device (e.g., based upon the user's proximity or orientation relative to the media player device). Modifying the characteristics of the streaming media may include adjusting the quality of the streaming media content to reduce data transfer when the user is not paying attention to the media player device.

Abstract: Anomaly detection and filtering based on system logs is provided via receiving, at a first time, a first sequence of log entries from a networked system; generating, based on previously observed log entries including the first sequence of log entries, predicted log entries for a second time; receiving, at the second time, a second sequence of log entries from the networked system; determining whether the second sequence is anomalous based on comparing the second sequence with the predicted log entries; in response to determining that the second sequence is anomalous, determining whether the second sequence is noteworthy based on a function entropy of the first sequence and a sentiment polarity of the second sequence; and in response to determining that the second sequence is noteworthy, generating an anomaly report that includes the second sequence and a root cause.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject technology relate to methods, systems, and machine-readable media for self-correlating network operations. The method includes receiving a stream of network messages, the stream of network messages comprising a variety of network events for various network devices. The method also includes identifying patterns within the stream of network messages, the patterns comprising groupings of the variety of network events. The method also includes determining for each pattern an appropriate operationalization scenario. The method also includes operationalizing the patterns as correlation rules in a correlation engine to automatically detect or predict network alarms from input provided by a fault management system.

Abstract: In one example aspect, a method is provided for tearing down a label switched path (LSP) through a communications network. The method comprises sending a first message towards an egress node of the LSP informing nodes of the LSP and the egress node of a tear down of the LSP, determining that one of the nodes of the LSP has not forwarded the first message along the LSP, and sending a second message to a controller of the communications network to cause the controller to communicate directly with one of the nodes to inform the one of the nodes of the tear down of the LSP.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for determining an execution location for a utility component. In an exemplary aspect, the systems and methods comprise receiving, at a client device, a request to execute the utility component that performs an action on a target component; determining the execution location of the utility component; determining whether the execution location is on the client device or on a remote application server; and responsive to determining the execution location is on the remote application server, transmitting the request to be executed within a remote session between the client device and the remote application server.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and processes for implementing a single whitelisted ingress endpoint on both one-way and two-way Transport Layer Security (TLS) connections and performing load balancing. Both two-way TLS agent-based traffic and one-way TLS non-agent-based traffic is routed through a single whitelisted internet protocol (IP) endpoint. A TLS connection is transmitted from a network load balancer and to a platform gateway service that operates as a Server Name Indication (SNI) reverse proxy server. The platform gateway service separates out the one-way TLS non-agent-based traffic that is part of the TLS connection based on a TLS header of the TLS connection. The one-way TLS non-agent-based traffic is then selectively terminated on an elastic load balancer.
