Abstract: Provided is a method for producing a silica aerogel blanket, the method comprising recovering and reusing a supercritical waste liquid generated after a supercritical drying process. Without putting in additional equipment investments or energy, supercritical waste liquid recovered after a supercritical drying process can be reused by lowering the content of ammonium ions (NH4+) present therein through a simple adjustment of the conditions for the supercritical drying process. Thus, it is possible to produce a silica aerogel blanket while reducing the production costs thereof and preventing the deterioration of thermal insulation performance of the silica aerogel blanket.
Abstract: This invention relates to cost-effective methods for synthesizing metallic nanoparticles in high yield using non-dendrimeric branched polymeric templates, such as branched polyethyleneimine. This invention also provides a high-throughput apparatus for synthesizing metallic nanoparticles under conditions that produce less waste than conventional nanoparticle synthesis methods. Also provided are metallic nanoparticles and multi-metallic nanoparticle compositions made by methods and high-throughput apparatus of the invention.

Abstract: A hood for a taphole and a tapping spout in a submerged arc furnace in the production of silicon. Abstract: A method for stepwise extraction of silica and hydroxide from silicate substances. The silicate substances are leached by chlorine-containing inorganic acids, and the hydroxides are extracted step by step from the leaching liquor by electrochemical deposition method; The raw material of the powder is put in the reactor, inorganic acids, water-soluble alcohol and water are added as the leaching liquor, heated and reacted under the condition of 0.1 MPa or more, and the acidic multi-ion mixed solution and filter residue are obtained by filtration. Abstract: A raw material composition for producing oxygen carriers includes a first component which is one or more of nickel oxide and nickel hydroxide and a second component which is one or more of boehmite, cerium oxide, cerium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, and titanium oxide, wherein, when the first component is nickel oxide, the second component includes cerium hydroxide. Such a raw material composition for producing oxygen carriers of the present invention is formed into oxygen carriers according to an oxygen carrier producing method, which will be described below, by adjusting the composition, formulation of raw materials, and degree of homogenization. Then, it is possible to produce oxygen carriers having physical properties such as a shape, a particle size, and a particle distribution suitable for a fluidized bed process or a high speed fluidized bed process and having improved wear-resistance, long-term durability, and oxygen transfer performance.

Abstract: A method for removing phosphorus and boron impurities in an industrial silicon melt by secondary refining is provided. According to the present disclosure, inorganic zinc chloride is adopted as an impurity removal medium and is quickly decomposed into zinc and chloride ions at high temperatures; the phosphorus and boron impurities can react with the zinc and chloride ions to yield low-melting and high-melting compounds during contact with a silicon melt, the low-melting compounds volatilize and escape from the industrial silicon melt at the high temperature of the secondary refining. The high-melting compounds are segregated at the grain boundary along with silicon solidification and removed by crushing and pickling, or sink to the very bottom of the silicon melt and are removed by cutting off a deposition layer at a bottom of a silicon ingot after the silicon melt is solidified.

Abstract: A method for synthesizing mesoporous silica microparticles comprising the steps of: preparing a sol from an ammonium catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation reaction of a pre-sol solution comprising a silica precursor and a structure directing agent dissolved in a mixed solvent system comprising an alcohol and water to produce mesoporous particles of silica with an average diameter of up to about 50 ?m; hydrothermally treating the particles to increase the pore size; treating the particles to remove residual structure directing agent; and further increasing the pore size using controlled dissolution.

Abstract: A silica sol dispersed in a nitrogen-containing solvent and a silica-containing resin composition containing a nitrogen atom-containing polymer. A silica sol including silica particles containing aluminum atoms and having an average primary particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm, the silica particles being dispersed in a nitrogen-containing solvent, wherein the aluminum atoms are bonded to the surfaces of the silica particles in an amount in terms of Al2O3 of 800 to 10,000 ppm/SiO2. The silica particles are bonded to a silane compound or a hydrolysate of the silane compound. The nitrogen-containing solvent is an amide solvent. The nitrogen-containing solvent is dimethylacetamide, dimethylformamide, N-methylpyrrolidone, or N-ethylpyrrolidone. The insulating resin composition includes the silica sol and a nitrogen-containing polymer. The nitrogen-containing polymer is polyimide, polyamide, polyamic acid, polyamideimide, polyetherimide, or polyesterimide.
Abstract: Disclosed is a black powder comprising silica particles that contain carbon. Each of the silica particles is single-layered. The content of carbon contained in the surfaces of the silica particles measured by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is 1% by mass or less.
Abstract: An LFP electrode material is provided which has improved impedance, power during cold cranking, rate capacity retention, charge transfer resistance over the current LFP based cathode materials. The electrode material comprises crystalline primary particles and secondary particles, where the primary particle is formed from a plate-shaped single-phase spheniscidite precursor and a lithium source. The LFP includes an LFP phase behavior where the LFP phase behavior includes an extended solid-solution range.
