  • Patent number: 4300308
Abstract: A toy vehicle has a first and a second surface which are spaced apart from one another and reversibly serve as the top and bottom of a vehicle. When one of the surfaces is serving as the top of the vehicle the opposite surface of the vehicle is serving as the bottom of the vehicle. The vehicle includes wheel members which are capable of supporting the vehicle over a support surface no matter which of the surfaces of the vehicle is serving as the top or the bottom. Also incorporated in the vehicle is an inverting mechanism which alternately inverts the vehicle such that the surface serving as the top of the vehicle after inverting serves as the bottom of the vehicle and the surface serving as the bottom of the vehicle after inverting serves as the top of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4285148
Abstract: Universal round calendar of a simple design which may be employed for various calendar systems. It provides traditional sequences of data and their intelligible and quick readjustment on another desired date. The universal round calendar may be employed as a part of a pocket watch or wrist watch without the necessity of any adaptation of the design of the watch mechanism, or it may be used as a complement of electronic digital watches. It also provides a direct function coupling between a calendar and a watch. The calendar, according to the invention, consists of two mutually revolving discs carrying indication marks for calendar data, the mutual position of which corresponding with the desired month in any range of years, is set up according to the code marking of the desired actual month.

  • Patent number: 4282675
Abstract: An automatic elevator control for improving the flight performance of power launched gliders. The elevators of a model glider are connected by a transverse axle pivoted through the fuselage, having a projecting lever arm. The lever arm is connected to an elastic band with the opposite end thereof adjustably connected to the fuselage. An upper limit stop is provided with the tension from the elastic band holding the lever arm against the stop. The elevator position is adjusted to a normal glide position for free flight when the lever arm is against the stop. During launch from a catapult or sling shot, the inertial and aerodynamic forces on the elevators overcome the tension of the elastic band causing the elevators to assume a level position. The glider can therefore be launched essentially vertically without looping and climb to a maximum altitude in a relatively straight path.

  • Patent number: 4279100
Abstract: A sounding toy for producing musical tones and other sounds includes a reciprocating element which may be repetitively struck by the user in order to produce the sounds. The sounding toy includes a vertically reciprocating cylindrical member which moves within an aperture in the housing in a generally vertical direction. The travel of the cylindrical member is defined by the longitudinal axis of a piston secured to the interior of the housing. A deformable, hollow engagement member is mounted on the top of the cylindrical member and allows for repeated contact by the hand or a hand-held tool of the user. A sound producing mechanism, such as a whistle, is mounted or formed integrally on the cylindrical member in fluid communication with the deformable engagement member. A downward vertical force on the engagement member will cause compression or deformation thereof and force air or other fluid through the whistle moving the cylindrical member downwardly within the housing over the piston.

  • Patent number: 4272915
Abstract: An audio-visual amusement device is provided wherein one or more movable animated figures are associated with a housing structure containing an audio-amplifier, and from which extends an elongated cable terminating in a microphone and dual control head, one control establishing electrical circuit between the microphone and amplifier, and the other control activating an electrical drive mechanism which imparts motion to the animated figures. The housing structure includes a main housing with a horizontal partition to which a drive mechanism sub-assemblage and electrical circuit components can be mounted and tested before a top closure sub-assemblage carrying the animated figures, and finally a bottom closure providing battery storage, are respectively attached to complete the overall assemblage. In a disclosed adaptation the motion of a first figure simulates hand clapping, while the motion of a second figure, if present, simulates excited jumping.

  • Patent number: 4270307
Abstract: A remote controlled self-propelled toy vehicle is disclosed which is capable of moving on a solid support surface and also on water. Two motors and a power source are mounted to the hull of the toy vehicle. Each motor drives, through a suitable transmission assembly, a drive wheel and a screw propeller. The drive wheels are disposed to come into contact with the solid support surface for operation as a land going vehicle, and the screw propellers are disposed for submersion in water when the toy vehicle is operated as a boat.Steering of the vehicle is accomplished on the solid surface and also on water by varying the power output of the motors so that uneven power output of the two motors causes the vehicle to turn. A suitable, preferably radio signal emitting remote control system and associated circuitry is provided to allow a player to steer the vehicle from a remote location.

  • Patent number: 4263741
Abstract: A toy figure configured in the shape of a person or animal and capable of effectively simulating a roller skating motion, is disclosed. The toy figure incorporates a chassis having a source of rotary motion such as a spring powered motor. A pair of substantially upright support members are mounted to the chassis and effectively simulate leg and foot portions of a person or of an animal. The support members are capable of a pendulum like oscillating motion relative to the chassis. A mechanism is operatively connected with the motor to move the support members in said oscillating motion. Each support member incorporates at least one roller or wheel which is continuously driven by the motor through a suitable gear train and pulley and belt assembly or the like. The continuous rotation of the rollers or wheels and the simultaneous pendulum like oscillating motion of the support members propels the toy figure along a support surface in effective simulation of a roller skating or like motion.
