  • Patent number: 5234743
Abstract: The process for making a press plate having a flat press surface includes applying a liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material to a support surface of the press plate; allowing the liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material to run freely under action of gravity until it is uniformly distributed on the support surface and a layer with a flat and horizontal surface is formed on the liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material; providing projecting support walls along edges of the support plate for retaining and preventing loss of the liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material; and allowing the liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material to harden without vibration for up to seven days. The liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material is hardenable so that the press surface formed on the layer has sufficient hardness and the liquid synthetic epoxy resin plastic material is sufficiently elastic to compensate for expansion of the support plate, while retaining a flat smooth press surface.

  • Patent number: 5234718
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a chemically adsorbed monomolecular or polymer film by a dehydrochlorination reaction brought about by contacting a substrate having hydrophilic groups at the surface with a non-aqueous organic solvent containing a compound having a halogen-based functional group able to react with a hydrophilic group at one end is disclosed. A basic compound is present in the non-aqueous organic solvent. Molecules having a functional group able to react with a hydrophilic group at one end are dissolved in the solvent obtained by adding the basic compound to the non-aqueous organic solvent. The substrate is contacted with the solution to form a chemically adsorbed monomolecular or polymer film. The film is formed efficiently and in a short period of time.

  • Patent number: 5230928
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel electroless plating method which requires no pre-treatment step for the surface-corrosion on the surface to be plated, wherein a metal layer is formed by applying, onto the surface to be plated, a solution of a composition consisting of a styrene type elastomer used generally as a component for the hot melt type adhesive agent, or the styrene type elastomer and a stickiness imparting resin of a molecular structure similar to that of the elastomer; drying the solution as applied; and effecting the electroless plating on the coated film thus obtained, the method being able to substitute the conventional electroless plating as an advance step of the electrolytic plating for synthetic resin. The particular object of the present invention is to utilize the method in the field of the electroless plating for the purpose of preventing the plating operation from the electromagnetic wave disturbances.
