  • Patent number: 10349216
Abstract: An enterprise system configures access point devices at an enterprise location to communicate with a location determination system. The location determination system receives wireless signal attributes of user computing devices broadcasting Wi-Fi signal data at the enterprise location from one or more access point devices. For a particular time window, the location determination system determines aggregated features of received wireless signal data across all access point devices, and classifies each of the user computing devices as moving or stationary by applying the wireless signal data to a model. For each of the user computing devices determined to be moving, the location determination system calculates a respective position of the user computing device based on the wireless signal data. For each of the user computing devices determined to be stationary, the location determination system does not calculate a respective position of the respective user computing device.

  • Patent number: 10334428
Abstract: Systems and methods enable remote machine-to-machine device SIM profile management without requiring a mobile terminated SMS wake-up message. A network device stores multiple profile orders for secure elements of end devices and receives an unsolicited profile query from a secure element of an end device. The secure element includes a pre-loaded power-on connection application that automatically initiates an HTTP connection with the network device when the end device is powered on or wakes up from a sleep mode, and the unsolicited profile query includes a secure element identifier. The network device conducts a search to match the secure element identifier from the unsolicited profile query with one of the multiple profile orders for the secure elements and sends profile action instructions to the secure element when there is a match between the secure element identifier from the unsolicited profile query and the one of the multiple profile orders.

  • Patent number: 10292039
Abstract: System and methods are provided for provisioning mobile data services in mobile network systems. By taking advantage of a bifurcated authentication process, the systems and methods described herein provide data services to mobile devices without requiring a secure element such as a SIM card. This allows travelers to benefit from local data networks and services without having to purchase an additional SIM and or change their mobile phone numbers. In addition, these systems and methods allow mobile data users to take advantage of lower local data rates and avoid high roaming costs. Furthermore, these systems and methods provide networks with efficient techniques for servicing visiting/roaming users directly with mobile data without the unnecessary overhead associated with data roaming.

Abstract: A system comprising at least a mobile device (110) and a plurality of gateways (120a-120g) whose positions are known, wherein the gateways (120a-120g) are operatively arranged to determine for each gateway a time differences of arrival (TDOA) of a signal originated by the mobile device (110). A solver unit (160) computes the position of the mobile device (110), based on said time difference of arrival (TDOA). The solver unit (160) implements ELM and a LMS algorithm to compute the mobile device's one-shot location estimate based on one or several packet transmissions, and includes a procedure to decide if an LMS algorithm needs to be run and a procedure to select or combine the location output from ELM and LMS for the one-shot location output. Further the solver unit comprises a tracking algorithm to realise the tracking of the moving device or to improve location accuracy should the device static.

  • Patent number: 10206122
Abstract: A method of direction finding (DF) positioning in a wireless location area network (WLAN) is proposed. A multiple antenna IEEE 802.11 transmitting device can transmit signal preamble containing multiple Long Training Field (LTF) symbols in a radio frame from multiple antennas simultaneously, which allows a receiving device to resolve multiple DF sounding signals transmitted from the multiple antennas. As a result, angle of departure (AoD) of the transmitting device can be estimated by using the multiple resolved DF sounding signals from each antenna for DF positioning purpose.

  • Patent number: 10206194
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for device location are described. In one example embodiment, an apparatus and method for determining a location of a mobile device is presented using a single narrowband radio system. In one implementation, Bluetooth is utilized. Using the single base operating with the narrowband radio, the location of the mobile device is found by applying both angle determination and distance determination. Using phased array antennas, the angle between receiver and base is determined. The distance is determined using a time-of-flight method based on phase comparison and phase lock loop techniques which can be applied in narrowband radio transceivers.
