  • Patent number: 10200862
Abstract: We disclose various embodiments that enable a mobile terminal to confirm authenticity of a base station before the mobile terminal proceeds to camp on the corresponding cell. In an example embodiment, the authentication processing includes the mobile terminal tuning to a selected control channel of the base station to monitor RF signals transmitted thereon. The base station is deemed to be authentic if the monitored RF signals indicate the presence of live traffic between the base station and one or more other mobile terminals. The control channel can be selected from a fixed set of uplink and/or downlink control channels that are typically used by a legitimate base station. The presence of live traffic on the selected control channel can be detected by detecting certain control messages that are typically transmitted on that control channel between the base station and one or more mobile terminals served by that base station.

  • Patent number: 10198616
Abstract: A method for fingerprint unlocking and a terminal are provided. The method includes the follows. Fingerprint information is acquired. A target group number of a group of fingerprint that is most similar to the fingerprint information is determined from among preset fingerprint matching data; where the preset fingerprint matching data corresponds to N groups of fingerprint, each group of fingerprint corresponds to multiple fingerprint templates and has one unique identification group number, and N is an integer greater than 1. The fingerprint information is compared with fingerprint templates corresponding to the target group number. A terminal is unlocked when a target matching value between a fingerprint template of the fingerprints corresponding to the target group number and the fingerprint information is determined, where the target matching value is greater than a first preset threshold.

  • Patent number: 10200861
Abstract: We disclose various embodiments that enable a mobile terminal to authenticate a base station before the mobile terminal proceeds to attach to the corresponding network and/or camp on the corresponding cell, e.g., during the initial network selection and attachment or during an idle mode. In an example embodiment, the authentication processing includes the mobile terminal generating and sending to a candidate base station a system query with a nonce. The candidate base station is deemed to be authentic only if the acknowledgement generated and transmitted in response to the system query includes a copy of the nonce properly signed by a digital signature generated using one or more security keys. In some embodiments, the system query may also include a request for GPS coordinates and/or selected system information signed using a digital signature, which the mobile terminal may beneficially use to further strengthen the protection against a spoofing attack.

  • Patent number: 10172065
Abstract: When a handover request for performing a handover of a terminal (70) from a macro cell C1 to a CSG cell C2 is received from an SeNB 10 (S8), a base station (TeNB) (40) of the CSG cell C2 transmits a handover response in accordance with a handover enabled/disabled state (S12). The handover response includes an identifier of the terminal (70) in the CSG cell C2. Upon receiving the response, the SeNB (10) notifies the identifier to the terminal (70) (S14). The TeNB (40) repeatedly transmits a dedicated signal containing a handover command via a dedicated channel set using the identifier at an interval shorter than a gap period (S18). Accordingly, whether or not access is permitted can be judged promptly and a smooth handover can be realized.

  • Patent number: 10154470
Abstract: Techniques for supporting a control plane solution for location services and positioning are described. In an aspect, an Evolved Serving Mobile Location Center (E-SMLC) may communicate with a Mobility Management Entity (MME) to support location services and positioning for a UE. In one design, the E-SMLC may receive a location request from the MME, perform a positioning procedure with the UE in response to the location request, and send a location response to the MME after completing the positioning procedure. For a UE-assisted or UE-based positioning procedure, the E-SMLC may send a downlink positioning message to the UE via the MME and may receive an uplink positioning message from the UE via the MME. For a network-based positioning procedure, the E-SMLC may send a network positioning request message to an eNB via the MME and may receive a network positioning response message from the eNB via the MME.

  • Patent number: 10149091
Abstract: Described is a system for directing employee movement to maintain a minimum distance between any two employees on a sales floor, and maximize employee coverage on the sales floor. The system includes a first mobile computing device carried by a first employee. The first mobile computing device includes a proximity detection module that detects the proximity of a second mobile computing device carried by a second employee. If it is determined that the distance between the first and the second employee is too small, the first mobile computing device will output a motion direction instruction to the first employee, telling the first employee to change direction, thus increasing the distance between the first and the second employee. The mobile computing devices can be in communication with a base station that receives proximity information and helps coordinate employee coverage and motion direction instructions.
