Abstract: A system provides consumers more product information to make informed buying decisions as well as recommendations, promotional messages, or couponing associated with a selected or related product. When used in a retail environment, radio or visual tagging of the products, displays, or retail shelf allows a mobile or other computing device to read a unique identifier and use it to retrieve the product information from a remote server. An extended clarity score may combine objective data and/or qualitative, subjective data with information about whether certain data has been provided. In some embodiments, structured identifiers indicate particular sources, product lines, production batches, marketing channels, retail destinations, and the like. In others, the information is retrieved as a function of one or a combination of products that the consumer has considered during a single in-store shopping trip.

Abstract: Design tools and methods of use for designing, ordering, and providing manufacturing and installation instructions for waveguide system networks include a system design tool including a location selection module to determine a selected location, a satellite imagery component to provide an image based on the selected location, an overlay module to overlay a design on the image, and a customization module to customize the design. The system design tool includes one or more design modules to at least one of automatically output and build via user input one or more design options based on the image, and a design customization module to select the design from the one or more design options. The system design tool includes a positioning module to set a pair of connectivity points such that a cable length may be automatically calculated based on a calculated distance between the pair of connectivity points.

Abstract: An intermediate result set is obtained from a first machine learning model whose input data set comprises values of a first set of properties associated with a session of operations. The intermediate result and a second set of properties associated with the session are provided as input to a second machine learning model. A value of at least one property of the first set is determined before a value of at least one property of the second set is determined. A particular action recommendation, based at least in part on output generated by the second machine learning model, is implemented.

Abstract: A consumer lead enhancement system comprises a vendor criteria database, a web server, and a matching engine. The vendor criteria database is configured to store vendor criteria for receiving leads regarding consumers. The web server is configured to request from a consumer a first set of consumer characteristics and a second set of consumer characteristics. The matching engine is configured to compare the consumer characteristics with information in the vendor criteria database in order to match the consumer with one or more vendors so that the system is capable of generating a lead and transmitting the lead to the vendors. If the consumer provides the second set of consumer characteristics, the consumer may be matched to vendors based on the second set of consumer characteristics. Otherwise the consumer may be matched to vendors based on the first set of consumer characteristics.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for utilizing sensor data to determine the results of events within a system. Upon receiving sensor data indicative of an event, the sensor data is analyzed to determine a result of the event. For instance, a user may identified upon entry to a facility, may pick items from shelves in the facility, and may be identified upon exit. Contents of a virtual shopping cart of the user may be maintained based on analysis of the sensor data as the user picks the items. When a user exits, a payment instrument of the user may be charged for a cost of the items and a receipt may be sent to a device of the user. A state-invariant time, representing a time before which all events have been processed, may be maintained such that no shopping sessions are finalized prior to the state-invariant time to avoid mistaken charges.

Abstract: A crowd-sourced cloud environment allows for, and benefits from, modes of interaction between among the service providers (including the “resource providers” and the “cloud provider”) and consumers (also referred to herein as “tenants”) that are not practiced in a DC-centric cloud environment—specifically, the use of Internet-based social networking technology and Internet-based online marketplace technology to facilitate resource pooling and interaction between crowd-sourced cloud resource providers, the cloud provider, and crowd-sourced cloud consumers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for optimizing bidding in a business-to-business environment. Initially the observed outcomes for n deals are received, and the belief parameters for these n deals are calculated. The Bayes-greedy price is then calculated and presented to a buyer. The buyer's response is collected and an optimal variance parameter based on the buyer's response is generated. The belief parameters for these n+1 deals are also updated. This process may be repeated for additional deals.

The smart mobile phone or communications device of the consumer may communicate with a system of a vendor across a network to order a product or product information from a system of the vendor over the network by using the information from the radio frequency identification.

Abstract: In representative embodiments, a digital assistant provides actionable information to a user regarding one or more vehicles owned by a user. Actionable information is typically provided in a “tip” which is a mechanism for presenting information to a user and may be presented in text, audible, or other form. The tips provided by the digital assistant are directed to helping the user with tasks associated with vehicles such as knowing when to obtain service such as oil changes, tire inflation, light replacement, brake replacement, fluid level check/fill, or other service. The digital assistant can utilize user information to automatically book service appointments, recommend times for service or other vehicle actions, route changes and so forth. Tips can also include links to a marketplace where recommended services can be obtained.

Abstract: Facilitating conversations among people within physical spaces is described. An interaction tablet can be housed within a physical space and configured to receive profile information from mobile devices of customers. The profile information can indicate conversational topics that customers are interested in within the physical space. Similarities between conversational topics of customers can be determined and those customers can be recommended to engage in a conversation regarding that conversational topic. One customer can also be provided information regarding what another customer prefers to purchase from the physical space and, therefore, use the purchase to facilitate a conversation to create a more engaging environment within the physical space.

Abstract: Techniques are described for performing secure card not present (CNP) transactions using integrated circuit chip-enabled cards. The techniques include continually or periodically tracking a location of a user's card by a user computing device, e.g., a “smart” phone, and storing a log of datasets relating to the location of the user's card at a server device. Based on the tracking, the user computing device may alert the user via a push notification or other message when the user's card is not within a preset range of the user computing device. In addition, an authentication server determines a location of a purchaser computing device attempting to perform a CNP transaction using the user's card information, and compares the location of the purchaser computing device with a most recent location of the user's card retrieved from the log of datasets to determine whether to approve the CNP transaction.
