  • Patent number: 9939468
Abstract: A shock resistant, non contacting alternating current (AC) sensing device intended to be worn on the hands in the formation of protective gloves. Alerting user of AC voltage potential when approaching energized equipment, protects the user's palms and fingertips from energized components. The glove encompasses non contacting AC voltage potential sensing circuitry, electrically receptive antenna throughout anterior hand surfaces, layer intended to protect the user and antenna from electrical contact. As the user's hands approach an electrically energized apparatus of equipment, the antenna will receive signaling transponding to the logic board, which will then energize a notification appliance alerting the user of danger.

  • Patent number: 9932777
Abstract: An inground isolator and associated method can provide an electrically isolated break in a drill string using electrical insulating members/isolators that are supported by a housing. During drill string operations, the isolators are subject only compressive forces responsive to both extension (pushing) and retraction (pulling) by the drill string. The isolators can be formed from an electrically insulating material such as a ceramic material. An interchangeable inground tool system is described which integrally serves to provide an electrically isolating gap in the drill string.

  • Patent number: 9849834
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving vehicle wrong-way detection including systems, sensors or features, such as those for system/network clocks, ambient light, driver impairment, automatic cruise control, blind spot warning or configurable vehicle security, either singly or in any combination therewith, may refine and/or modify the confidence level of detecting particular or potential wrong-way incidents. By modifying the confidence level, the system may change the system sensitivity by moving the cutoff point at which an alert activation takes place. The systems described above can modify the wrong-way detection sensitivity. Greater confidence, or system sensitivity, may also help enable the system to take further actions beyond a simple warning. At greater confidence levels, the system could intervene, by way of a non-limiting example, with throttle limiting, turning on the hazard lights or even bringing the vehicle to a stop.

  • Patent number: 9830548
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) circuit comprises an antenna operably coupled to receive an RF signal, a power harvesting circuit operable to generate a first power source from the RF signal, a tank circuit coupled to the antenna and a tuning circuit. The tank circuit includes a selectively variable impedance and the tuning circuit is adapted to dynamically vary the selectively variable impedance of the tank circuit based on resonance of the RF circuit and frequency of the RF signal to substantially align the resonance of the RF circuit with the frequency of the RF signal. When the resonance of the RF circuit is substantially aligned with the frequency of the RF signal, the power harvesting circuit generates a second power source from the RF signal such that the second power source is greater than the first power source.
