  • Patent number: 9760853
Abstract: A wirelessly-linked RFID tracking system is disclosed herein. The system includes low-power wirelessly-linked RFID readers in communication with a mine radio network to detect and transmit information received from a plurality of RFID tags. The RFID readers transmit tag information to a local server for providing notification and/or alarm information to system users as required under the Miner Act of 2006. The RFID readers may further include environmental sensors to sense and communicate environmental conditions wirelessly. In addition, the optional capability of hi-intensity warning LEDs mounted on the reader devices, may be deployed to alert personnel of an emergency condition even when hundreds of feet away from the device, irrespective of background noise prevalent in mining operations. The disclosed system communicatively links a plurality of wireless RFID readers to each other and/or to the mine radio network to create a data path from an underground environment to a surface environment.

  • Patent number: 9749985
Abstract: A beacon device is provided in proximity to a computing system within a computing center. A request to locate the computing system in the computing center is triggered on a central control unit. In response to the request to locate the computing system, the control unit generates specification data for a unique radio signal identifier, sends an activation request and the specification data to the beacon device, and provides the specification data to a portable device and stores the specification data on the portable device.

  • Patent number: 9745782
Abstract: The present invention concerns a secure sealing device 101 comprising at least a closure element 102 with an electrically conductive path 120, and a locking body 103 comprising an electric circuit with a data carrier and a radiofrequency transceiver with a predetermined working wavelength. Said locking body 103 is configured be locked to at least one free end 102a of said closure element 102 to attach the locking body 103 to an object to be sealed. The electrically conductive path 120 of the closure element 102 has a length which is substantially equal to X or ½X times half said predetermined working wavelength of the radiofrequency transceiver, thus enhancing the range of the radiofrequency transceiver by inductive coupling.

  • Patent number: 9741218
Abstract: An explicit real-time fire disaster alarming device includes a fire disaster detector, human body detector, controller and outdoor light displaying portion. If the fire disaster detector detects any fire inside a space or room, it will send out a fire signal. The human body detector detects whether there is any human inside the space and send out a YES signal or a NO signal accordingly. When the controller receives the fire signal, the outdoor light displaying portion changes from a storing form to an extending form. When the controller receives the YES signal, the outdoor light displaying portion turns on a light for showing there is a human inside the space. When it receives the NO signal, the outdoor light displaying portion turns on another light for showing there is no human inside. Hence, fire fighters and rescuers are provided with a priority reference for life rescue.

  • Patent number: 9721446
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for detecting allergens present in a product. A tag (e.g., passive RFID tag) receives a query from the user of a computing device containing a list of allergens to determine if an allergen is present in the product (e.g., product for ingestion). Product information associated with the product in stored in secure memory (e.g., write-only memory) on the tag. The tag determines if an allergen to the user is present in the product using the list of allergens in the query as well as the product information associated with the product. The tag then notifies the user of the computing device regarding whether an allergen to the user is present in the product based on the determination. In this manner, allergens are detected in a product and made known to the user.

  • Patent number: 9704085
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting RF field strength. A field strength reference generator develops a field strength reference current as a function of a field strength of a received RF signal; and a field strength quantizer develops a digital field-strength value indicative of the field strength reference current. In one embodiment, detected field strength is used to dynamically vary the impedance of a tank circuit whereby, over time, induced current is maximized. In another embodiment, using the quantized field strength to sense changes to the environment to which the RFID tag is exposed.

  • Patent number: 9701242
Abstract: An electrical apparatus can be used to modulate an apparent intensity of a vehicular braking indicator according to a specified pattern. When a duration of an initial brake application exceeds a specified initial modulation duration, the apparent intensity can continue to be modulated, but in a manner suppressing apparent variation in intensity until at least one of a release of brake application or until a specified timeout duration lapses. In an example, upon lapse of the timeout duration, modulation can be re-established to vary the apparent intensity of the vehicular braking indicator according to the specified pattern for another modulation duration corresponding to the initial modulation duration. The pattern can be customizable, such as provided to the electrical apparatus digitally, before installation. The customizability of the specified pattern can be inhibited, such as after installation by an installer or seller.

  • Patent number: 9669667
Abstract: A low-frequency emission electronic unit (20?) includes two low-frequency antennas (B1, B2). The second antenna (B2) is passive and resonant, oriented along the main axis (Y) of the first low-frequency antenna (B1) and is adapted to generate two low-frequency fields (D2, D2?) at right angles to the field (D1) emitted by the first antenna (B1). The low-frequency emission electronic unit (20?) makes it possible to reduce the zones of rupture of reception of the low-frequency signals by the wheel unit (13) situated in proximity in which the low-frequency signals emitted by the low-frequency emission electronic unit are not received by the closest wheel unit (13). A low-frequency signal transmission method alternating the emissions of waves by the two antennas (B1, B2) is also described.

  • Patent number: 9652721
Abstract: A system that allows secure identification tokens (e.g., smart cards or RFID tags), often used for enabling such systems, to be securely added to a secure, local database of identification tokens authorized to operate the device, system or service. Such authorizations may be open-ended or have an expiration date. The addition of the identification token is achieved without requiring communication with a central controller by wired or wireless means, but is instead triggered by a message authorizing the addition of an identification token to the local database. The same invention can be used, in some embodiments, to allow magnetic stripe cards or biometric measurements to become authorized to operate or allow access to the system or device or service.
