  • Patent number: 9323964
Abstract: Techniques for CSC detection and selection include generating a radio frequency (RF) field that defines a range of communication for the CSC reader, transmitting a signal in the RF field, and detecting a modulation in the RF field indicating that a first CSC is within the RF field and has responded to the signal. The modulation is inspected for collision, wherein collision occurs if more than one CSC within the RF field responds to the poll signal. After determining that the modulation does not contain a collision, a halt command is transmitted to the first CSC instructing the CSC to only respond to one or more specific commands.

  • Patent number: 9324233
Abstract: A vehicle contact warning method and system are provided in a host vehicle. A communication device of the host vehicle receives a remote vehicle message including information pertaining to a remote vehicle including a remote vehicle location and a remote vehicle trajectory. A controller of the host vehicle prepares a host vehicle location and a host vehicle trajectory. The controller determines a possibility of contact between the host vehicle and the remote vehicle at a contact location at a contact time based on a host vehicle travel time from the host vehicle location to the contact location based on the host vehicle information and a remote vehicle travel time from the remote vehicle location to the contact location based on the remote vehicle information. The controller automatically operates an external warning device to the host vehicle, the remote vehicle, or both, upon determining the possibility of contact exists between the host vehicle and the remote vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9267815
Abstract: A data collecting device collects operation data of facility equipment that constitute a facility device control system. Upon receiving a collection data request command from a monitoring device, the data collecting device reads one or multiple items of operation data of the type specified by the collection data request command from among multiple items of collected operation data, and sends to the monitoring device response data wherein the read data is stored in a prescribed format. When a user inputs an operation that requests monitoring of operation data, the monitoring device has the user select a desired operation data type from among the operation data types that can be disclosed to the user, and sends to the data collecting device a collection data request command wherein the selected operation data type is specified.

  • Patent number: 9251680
Abstract: Interference in an electronic article surveillance (EAS) system is reduced by transmitting warning pulse at a predetermined time following the EAS marker exciter pulse. The predetermined time and duration of the warning pulse are chosen so that the warning pulse acts upon a noise interference avoidance process in a second non-cooperative EAS unit. More particularly, the warning electromagnetic pulse causes a timing change in a second synchronized electromagnetic exciter pulse produced by the second EAS unit when the second synchronized electromagnetic exciter pulse is concurrent with the first receive interval. This timing change causes the second EAS unit to no longer interfere with the first EAS unit.

  • Patent number: 9238432
Abstract: An electrical apparatus can be used to modulate an apparent intensity of a vehicular braking indicator according to a specified pattern. When a duration of an initial brake application exceeds a specified initial modulation duration, the apparent intensity can continue to be modulated, but in a manner suppressing apparent variation in intensity until at least one of a release of brake application or until a specified timeout duration lapses. In an example, upon lapse of the timeout duration, modulation can be re-established to vary the apparent intensity of the vehicular braking indicator according to the specified pattern for another modulation duration corresponding to the initial modulation duration. The pattern can be customizable, such as provided to the electrical apparatus digitally, before installation. The customizability of the specified pattern can be inhibited, such as after installation by an installer or seller.

  • Patent number: 9231284
Abstract: An electronic device with a battery displays a label for indicating different power levels of the battery. The label comprises a plurality of columns. Each of the columns is capable of being illuminated. A number of the columns lighted correspond to a corresponding the power levels in a one-to-one relationship. The electronic device comprises a detection module, storage, an acquiring module, a check module, and a display module. The detection module detects the current voltage of the battery at regular intervals and stores the information in the storage. The acquiring module acquires a previous detected voltage from the storage. The check module checks whether the current voltage is a fluctuated voltage. The display displays the label with the numbers of the lighted columns corresponding to the power level which contains the previous detected voltage when the current voltage is a fluctuated voltage.
