  • Patent number: 4112609
Abstract: A prefabricated approximately T-shaped blank of flexible sheet material with a pair of screened openings spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal portion of the blank is foldable along spaced parallel folded lines into a flat trap structure composed of outer and inner arch-shaped walls with screened skylights therein, the inner screened skylight having a small exit port therein. The structure thus formed has a floor panel with approximate arch-shaped side wings foldable upward therefrom into end closures for the structure, these wings containing small entrance doors near their fold edges. The screens are cemented to the border areas around their respective openings and these cemented areas covered by pairs of half-I-shaped border flaps integral with the blank and folded therefrom over the cemented areas.

  • Patent number: 4112627
Abstract: Small-diameter vitreous cylinders, for example glass tubes, are maintained under lateral (radial) compression and are precision rolled through grinding wheels, thus fully separating the cylinders into as many cylindrical components as desired. The rolling is effected by maintaining several glass cylinders in laterally-adjacent relationship between a drive roller and a pressure sheet, the latter being under very substantial tension. Thin grinder wheels extend through slots in the pressure sheet and thereby grind completely through the rolling cylinders. The drive roller and pressure sheet continue to roll the substantially separated cylinders, in precise synchronism, so that there is no breaking but instead only grinding.

  • Patent number: 4109420
Abstract: The grinding machine is of the type adapted for grinding a workpiece having a surface of revolution such as a taper or barrel roller of a rolling element bearing. The two end faces of the workpiece are clamped between adjacent ends of two mandrels which are rotatable about a common axis. The adjacent ends of the two mandrels are formed with respective noses for effecting the clamping of the workpiece. One nose is formed with a seating in the form of a flat face or a concave surface of revolution the axis of which is coincident with the common axis of rotation of the two mandrels. The other nose is provided with a cavity having a tapered opening through which a spring loaded ball partially protrudes.

  • Patent number: 4109419
Abstract: A lightweight transversely pivoting and longitudinally sliding skate carriage exhibiting exceptionally low friction, introduces a high degree of sensitivity into the process of skate sharpening, facilitating very light grinding cuts and low uniform traversing speeds, enabling a relatively unskilled operator to produce superlative surface finishes and accurately maintain the blade "rocker" profile. The carriage pivotal axis is so located and the skate blade so positioned that the "hollow grind" is accurately centralized throughout the length of the blade. The low friction, pivotal provision enables the blade to be held in sensitive contact with the cutting wheel controlling the depth of cut, while the longitudinal sliding provision permits sensitive control of rate of cutting lengthwise along the skate blade. The skate carriage is readily removable and being lightweight facilitates inspection of the blade surface during the course of sharpening.

  • Patent number: 4107866
Abstract: A minnow rig and a method of baiting the minnow rig with a live minnow for stream fishing and trolling. The minnow rig includes a treble hook adapted to be disposed in a minnow's tail, a second hook adapted to be disposed in the minnow's head, and a single line connected to and extending between the hooks. The first hook is connected to a free end of the line, while the second hook is connected to the line for allowing adjustability of the second hook with respect to the first hook while still allowing the second hook to be held in a fixed predetermined relative position with respect to the first hook if desired. The second hook is held to the line without knotting of the line and without the necessity for a separate securing device.

  • Patent number: 4107881
Abstract: A centerless grinder is adapted to have a regulating wheel feed towards a grinding wheel about a pivot point to accomplish an infeed grind operation on a plurality of parts between the wheels. The parts are infeed ground at a plurality of stations from an inlet end of the wheels to an outlet end of the wheels, and the pivot point is proximate the outlet end, thereby achieving variable feed distances and variable feed rates along the face of the regulating wheel relative to the grinding wheel, from the inlet end to the outlet end. After an infeed grind operation, the plurality of parts are advanced to their next adjacent stations for a subsequent grind operation. By the arrangement disclosed, coarse-feed grinding is performed on one workpiece while fine feed grinding is performed on another piece and varying degrees of rates of grinding are performed on the intermediate pieces during the same time interval.

  • Patent number: 4107868
Abstract: An actuator for a rotating frame animal trap having two similar frames pivotally connected to each other. The actuator comprises two arms spring biased at one end and each terminating in a ring at the other. The rings have the dimensions so that the actuator can be mounted on the trap to encircle adjacent ends of both frames of the trap. On release of the trap, the actuator can rapidly and forcefully effect a rotation of the trap to its closed position. A rigid joint is formed in one arm of the actuator. The joint is breakable to separate the one arm by application of a force to the spring biased end of the actuator. The actuator does not affect the position of the set trap and is simple in construction.

  • Patent number: 4104793
Abstract: A support is provided and a rotary grinding head is journaled from the support for rotation about a first predetermined axis. A support arm is pivotally mounted at one end from the support for swinging of the support and support arm about a second axis substantially paralleling the first axis and the other free end portion of the support arm includes structure for supporting a saw chain therefrom for successive positioning of the cutting teeth of the chain in predetermined position for sharpening by the grinding wheel. As a result of relative swinging of the support and the support arm, the rotary grinding head is swingable into registry opposite side portions of the supported saw chain. Also, a chain tooth engaging and positioning member is supported from the support arm for establishing the predetermined position of the tooth to be sharpened and is swingable into and out of an operative position.
