The method and system can include sharing and playing an omnidirectional multi-2D-panel video stream wherein field of view data is obtained from a viewer, and the omnidirectional multi-2D-panel video stream is updated when the field of view data indicates a change in a field of view of the viewer.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to identify and triage digital ad ratings data quality issues are disclosed. An example apparatus includes score calculation circuitry to: generate one or more aggregate factor scores based on aggregate data from a first impression data point; generate one or more daily factor scores based on daily data from the from impression data point; normalize the one or more aggregate factor scores based on aggregate factor scores of at least a second data impression point; normalize the one or more daily factor scores based on daily factor scores of at least a second data impression point; calculate a final weight score for the first impression data point using the aggregate factor scores and the daily factor scores for the first impression data point; and flag the final weight score if it does not satisfy a threshold score.

Abstract: A system and method provide for installation and setup of a set-top box (STB) in a Digital TV network includes a mobile device running a mobile application, an operator application, and a display configured to display video from the STB. A status of the STB is determined and encoded into an optically scannable graphic displayed by the display. The optically scannable graphic is scanned with an optical device in communication with the mobile device and the status of the STB is decoded. The status of the STB is transmitted to the operator application compared with an acceptance criteria.

Abstract: Example levitating meter apparatus are disclosed. An example metering system includes a meter having a display to present indicia associated with a panelist. The meter has a microphone to receive audio output from a media device and circuitry to perform media monitoring. A base includes a cavity to receive at least a portion of the meter. The meter to magnetically levitate relative to the base to decouple the meter from the base. The base and the meter structured to fix a rotational position of the meter relative to the base when the at least the portion of the meter is received by the cavity of the base and the meter levitates relative to the base.

An apparatus includes memory, and a processor to execute instructions to: determine first probabilities for first panelists in a first household based on a first number of minutes of first media presented by a first media presentation device monitored by a first meter, determine second probabilities for second panelists in a plurality of second households based on a second number of minutes of second media presented by second media presentation devices monitored by a plurality of second meters, compare the first probabilities and the second probabilities to identify a candidate household from the plurality of second households to associated with the first household, and impute respective portions of the first number of minutes to corresponding ones of the first panelists when monitored behavior of the candidate household matches monitored behavior of the first household.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for presenting media content capable of being dynamically adapted. One method involves analyzing content of a media program to identify a replaceable object at a spatial location within the content at a temporal location within the content, analyzing the spatial location of the content corresponding to the replaceable object within the content to identify one or more attributes of the replaceable object, identifying a substitute object based at least in part on the one or more attributes associated with the replaceable object, augmenting the temporal location of the content to include the substitute object at the spatial location within the content in lieu of the replaceable object, and providing the augmented version of the content to a media player for presentation.

Abstract: When a device is playing out a first media stream, the device determines a target time for beginning playout of a second media stream in place of the first media stream. The device then starts a stream-transition process that is expected to take anywhere from a minimum expected transition duration to a maximum expected transition duration, and the device starts the transition process in advance of the determined target time by the maximum expected transition duration, to help ensure timely starting of playout of the second media stream. Further, for an uncertainty period that extends from the minimum expected transition duration after the starting to the maximum expected transition duration after the starting, the device generates and plays a sequence of transition frames to help mask transition from the first media stream to the second media stream.

Abstract: A method of processing information in a digital receiver connected to an external input source includes receiving uncompressed data of a broadcast service from the external input source, the broadcast service delivered based on either a Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) protocol or an MPEG Media Transport (MMT) protocol; extracting an audio watermark from the uncompressed data; making a request to a specific server using domain type and server code of the audio watermark to form a first URL; receiving a recovery file including a second URL used to retrieve signaling files needed to access and present a supplementary content; retrieving the signaling files using the second URL in the recovery file; and presenting the supplementary content based on the signaling files. Further, timing information included in the recovery file is used to synchronize the supplementary content with the uncompressed data from the external input source.

Abstract: Systems, methods, machine-readable media, and media device are provided to facilitate seamless flow content splicing to dynamically insert particularized content items in television programming content. A plurality of particularized content items may be received and stored in a content store. First content that corresponds to television programming may be received and processed to detect a first set of color characteristics of video content. A subset of the particularized content items may be selected based on matching a second set of color characteristics of the subset of the particularized content items to the first set of color characteristics of the video content corresponding to the television programming. The first content may be output for display. Then, the subset of the particularized content items may be output for display in succession so that display of the subset of the particularized content items directly follows display of the first content.

Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template corresponding to a screen portion. Based on the video input stream matching the template, a video output stream is generated and caused to be presented on a display. In some example embodiments, the analysis is performed while the client device is replacing video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, menus generated by the set-top box may be detected and the replacement video altered by the smart TV to include the menus.

Abstract: Examples of the systems and methods described herein relate to reducing latency issues associated with playing online digital video on client devices. An example method includes: determining that a client device of a user is displaying a web page; determining a likelihood that the user will select content on the web page, the content being associated with a digital video; determining that the likelihood exceeds a threshold and, based thereon: identifying the digital video associated with the content; obtaining a copy of a video file including the digital video and an initial portion that precedes the digital video; initiating a video player for displaying the digital video; determining a start location in the video file where the initial portion ends and the digital video begins; and configuring the video player to begin playing the video file from the start location when the user selects the content.
