Abstract: An image forming apparatus can reduce degradation of the line quality in an output image by a simple method while maintaining the stability of the density characteristics of the output image, and a control method therefor. To accomplish this, in accordance with the amount of change, from a reference density value, of a density value measured from a test pattern image formed on a photosensitive drum, the image forming apparatus according to the invention creates LUT_2 for correcting a laser output signal value corrected using ? correction LUT_1. The image forming apparatus performs ? correction using LUT_1 and LUT_2 for developing colors other than a predetermined low-brightness developing color, whereas for the predetermined low-brightness developing color, it performs ? correction using LUT_1 and laser light amount correction instead of ? correction using LUT_2.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a short-range wireless communication function includes a scanner that scans a document and generates image data of the document, and a storage that stores the image data generated by the scanner. If an operation mode of scanning a document by the scanner and transmitting image data of the document to an external apparatus by the short-range wireless communication function is instructed, the scanner is controlled to generate image data of a document, and store the image data in the storage, and then the image data stored in the storage is transmitted to the external apparatus by the short-range wireless communication function.

Abstract: In an apparatus, a reception unit receives information indicating an end of image process in an external apparatus or information indicating an occurrence of an error in the external apparatus. A display control unit causes a display unit to display predetermined information based on the information received by the reception unit. An acquisition unit acquires a constraint condition for causing the display unit to limit a display of the predetermined information. A determination unit determines whether an operating state of an apparatus capable of controlling the display unit meets the constraint condition. When the determination unit determines that the operating state meets the constraint condition, the display control unit limits the display of the predetermined information on the display unit based on the information received by the reception unit.
