Patent number: 7498700Abstract: An improvement in high-speed and response performances is achieved with simple structure. A bed faces a movable table on which permanent magnets divided from each other in a stroke direction of the movable table are provided. One or more armature coils are provided on the bed facing the permanent magnets. Upon passage of an electric-current through the armature coils, an electromagnetic interaction between the armature coil current and magnetic fluxes of the permanent magnets produces a thrust force for relative movement between the two mobile units. A magnetic member is provided on the movable table in a position corresponding to a maximum point or a vicinity thereof of a magnetic force of the permanent magnets when the movable table is in a neutral position in the stroke direction. When the mobile units relatively move from the neutral position, the magnetic force of the permanent magnets acts on the magnetic member.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2006Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: Nippon Thompson Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masaki Ohno

Patent number: 7474031Abstract: When we use a new structure of stator of a motor (or generator) to let magnetic flux travel less distance in air and keep the flux pattern the same as before then we can improve its efficiency. Motor structure didn't change too much in decades. If we can greatly improve its efficiency and along with battery capacity, lessen their weight, then an electrical car may be as practical as a gasoline car. The electrical airplane may also become practical. The power plant may generate more electricity with same energy consumed.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2004Date of Patent: January 6, 2009Inventor: Yue-Chung Chen

Patent number: 7466052Abstract: A magnetic bearing assembly, either radial or linear, utilizes attractive magnetic forces between inner and outer components of the assembly. The assembly includes a mechanical device for controlling relative movement between the components in first and second directions, while permitting relative movement between them in a third direction. At least one of the components, separated by a gap, has a magnetic source for creating a magnetic field extending across the gap and causing a first load in a direction opposing gravity exerted across the gap and against that component adapted to receive a supplemental load. In this way, the attractive force urges the component adapted to receive the supplemental load upward against the mechanical device, thereby at least partially offsetting the load on the mechanical device caused by the weight of the supplemental load. Either component may be the moving component or the one adapted to receive the supplemental load.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2008Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Rozlev Corp., LLCInventor: John J.
