Abstract: Systems and methods of improving the operation of a transaction network and transaction network devices is disclosed. A SBO identification network host may comprise various modules and engines as discussed herein wherein the probability that a cardholder is a small business owner may be evaluated for establishing proper usage of differentiated transaction instruments according to their proper purposes, marketing and cross-marketing of differentiated transaction instruments, and provision of value-added services. For instance, a probable SBO may be identified, whereby the SBO identification network network may tailor the handling of the transactions, such as by denying them, whereby the transaction network may actively deter misuse of transaction products, or tailor the handling of electronically delivered advertisements, such as by targeting them, whereby the SBO identification network more properly functions according to approved parameters.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying groups of items that consumers are likely to purchase together. In some embodiments, a graph may be generated based on information regarding items that have been previously ordered together and information regarding the similarity or affinity between items. The graph may be analyzed to identify groups of items, wherein consumers are likely to order items in each group together. In some embodiments, each group of items may be assigned to a storage facility, and a list representative of the items stored in that storage facility may be modified to include the items in the group assigned to the storage facility.

Abstract: A technique for identifying related transaction records from a database storing transaction records for multiple entities includes grouping transaction records with a common attribute value into transaction record sets, receiving a selection of an exemplar record set and determining the probability the transaction record set stores transaction records associated with a first entity. Other operations include resolving the transaction record set as storing transaction records associated with the first entity. This improves the process of identifying related transaction records because related transaction records missed by string comparisons transaction record attributes are detected.

Abstract: Methods and systems using a single centralized database to manage postal accounting data are provided. The central database may interface with remote postal meters by way of one or more transient data collectors, which cache data from associated meters and transmit the data to the central database. The data collectors also validate postage accounts to the associated meters. The use of local transient data collectors allows for a single centralized database to be used without requiring data replication among databases local to each computer that manages postal meters.

Abstract: Techniques for utilizing thematic repositories for transaction management are described herein. The techniques may include receiving data associated with at least one transaction, and associating at least a subset of the data with at least one thematic repository of a plurality of thematic repositories. An individual thematic repository of the plurality of thematic repositories may be configured to aggregate data from a plurality of transactions that are individually determined to be associated with a theme of the individual thematic repository.

Abstract: In some examples, a merchant device at a point of sale (POS) location may present information to a merchant in a first language preferred by the merchant, and may present information to a buyer in a second language preferred by the buyer. The merchant device may switch between the different languages in response to detecting a change in the physical orientation of a display. For instance, in a first orientation in which the display is viewable from a merchant direction, the merchant device may present information in the language preferred by the merchant. When the orientation of the display is changed to a second orientation in which the display is viewable from a buyer direction, the merchant device may present information in the language indicated to be preferred by the buyer. Various techniques may be used for determining the preferred language of a particular buyer.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a payment processor has a processor which configured to controls checkout processing. The checkout processing includes payment processing of a product. An electronic tag is attached to the product, and stores tag data. The processor executes data-change processing to write readout-completed data in an electronic tag identified by the tag data stored in the memory after the payment processing of the product. The readout-completed data shows that the tag reader has read the electronic tag.

Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating online and in-store shopping are disclosed. The systems include a cashier station located in a store. The cashier station has a register, a product ID input device, and a screen accessible to a customer at the cashier station. An online site configured to facilitate ecommerce transactions between users and the store is also provided. The cashier station is in communication with the online store whereby recommended products are presented to the customer on the screen in response to the input of a product ID at the cashier station allowing the customer to make additional related purchases from the online site contemporaneously with the in-store purchase.

Abstract: The POS system 5 of a transaction system 1 transmits transaction information, which is information related to a transaction, and transaction time information indicating the time a transaction was made, to a control server 10 during a transaction. A terminal 14 detects if the terminal 14 performed a specific movement, and transmits a customer ID and executed time information indicating when the terminal 14 performed the specific movement to the control server 10 when the specific movement is detected. Based on the transaction time information received from the POS system 5 and the executed time information received from the terminal 14, the control server 10 determines if the information matches, and if it does, relationally stores the transaction information received with the transaction time information and the customer ID received with the executed time information.

Abstract: Embodiments herein described relate to methods for enabling the detection of inner pack receive errors at a receiving site for a marketplace by comparing quantities of predicted and received items by receiving a predicted quantity, determining a received quantity, performing a modulus division of the predicted and received quantities of items, and using the remainder to detect the presence of inner packs within received packages of items.

The user device may insert the item into a lifecycle shopping list. The user device may store the lifecycle shopping list.

Abstract: Flexible utilization of capacity to provide computing services mediated by a service broker. The service broker receives a request from a first party for assistance with a service workload as well as an indication from a second party of a willingness to provide service. The service broker matches the parties with each other based at least in part on the capacity of the second party to service the service workload of the first party, manages offloading of the service workload from first party to the second party, and manages billing of a workload provider (such as the first party or the first party's customer) for the offloading engagement.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for in-store payments. A customer identifier and a point-of-sale identifier may be received. A user payment account may be determined based on the customer identifier. The user payment account may be associated with a customer identified by the customer identifier. Transaction data may be received for a transaction for the customer created using the point-of-sale card at a point-of-sale computing device. The transaction data may include a purchase total. The transaction may be authorized. The point-of-sale card may not always be active. The point-of-sale card associated with the point-of-sale identifier may be activated after the user payment account based on the customer identifier is determined. The point-of-sale card may be deactivated after the transaction is authorized.

Abstract: A system, method, and devices are disclosed for remotely verifying and managing the record of an inventory asset, such as an automobile or other vehicle, wherein the asset in the inventory is located at a site remote from a user initiating a request for verification. A user selects from a web-based interface on a client device or mobile application the location of an asset to be verified. When an inventory verification request is initiated, a request is sent electronically to a base station/transmitter located at the dealer's location. The transmitter sends a signal out to verify the inventory in the dealer's to one or more receivers installed in each vehicle/inventory object. The receivers communicate data associated with vehicles/inventory objects present in the dealer's lot back to the transmitted request with the list of data representing the inventory.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable storage device and apparatus for customer owned encryption at a centralized storage server are disclosed. For example, the method receives a data file for storage and a customer owned encryption method from the customer, applies the customer owned encryption method to the data file at the centralized storage server to create a customer encrypted data file, deletes the customer owned encryption method from the centralized storage server and applies a general encryption method to the customer encrypted data file, wherein the general encryption method is applied to all data files stored in the centralized storage server.

One aspect of the invention is a computer-implemented method (and corresponding system and computer program product) for inviting an entity to open an account at a billing and payment system, the method comprising: issuing a check payable to the entity, wherein a checkbox for opening an account at the billing and payment system is printed on an endorsement section of the check along with a reference to additional information regarding additional information related to the account opening; receiving an image of the endorsement section of the check after the check is cleared; determining whether the checkbox is checked in the image; and responsive to a determination that the checkbox is checked, opening an account for the entity at the billing and payment system.

Abstract: Container top assemblies and methods of fabrication thereof are provided. Product management and tracking of data for customizable data points is further provided. A customer account is configured based on provided customer information, and a product template for a product type is configured, where configuring the product template defines data points for which data about a product of that product type are to be maintained. The data points may be defined according to customer specification. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag data is received, the RFID tag data being of an RFID tag embedded within a product of the product type, and the product is registered with a database and associated with the account for the customer. The RFID tag data uniquely identifies the product in the database, and the registering configures the database to maintain data about the product for the data points defined by the product template.

Abstract: An information provision device according to one embodiment includes a receiving unit, an extraction unit, a setting unit and a presentation unit. The receiving unit receives search criteria. The extraction unit extracts reservation acceptance information of the target facility corresponding to a past determination target period based on the search criteria by referring to a storage unit storing reservation acceptance information of a facility. The setting unit calculates a rate of decrease from an initial number of vacancies in the target facility during the past determination target period based on the extracted reservation acceptance information, and when there is a date of change when the number of vacancies has changed to be less than a specified threshold during the determination target period, sets an estimated date for a reservation request. The presentation unit outputs the value set-as estimate information for reservation request.
