  • Patent number: 8594482
Abstract: Video analytics data is audited through review of selective visual essence subsets of visual images from a visual image stream as a function of a temporal relationship of the essence subset images to a triggering alert event. The visual essence subset comprehends an image contemporaneous with the triggering alert event and one or more other images occurring before or after the contemporaneous image. The generated visual essence is presented for review to determine whether the triggering alert event is a true or false alert, or whether additional data from the visual image stream is required to make such a determination. If determined from the presented visual essence that the additional data is required make the true or false determination, then additional data is presented from the visual image stream for review.

  • Patent number: 8588575
Abstract: A method of presenting video frames of a video segment at a non-standard speed is provided. A frame count is set to an initial value. For each video frame that is to be presented, a time offset relative to a staring time within the video segment is generated. The time offset may be generated by multiplying the frame count by two values. The first value is a length of time for which each selected frame is to be presented to the user, and the second value is the presentation rate of the video segment relative to a normal presentation rate. A video frame within the video segment corresponding to the time offset within the video segment is selected and output for presentation. The frame count is then updated, and the process is repeated for the next frame to be presented.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a PATS counter synchronized with an SCR superposed on an MPEG-TS is used. When recording the MPEG-TS, a pair of the value of time stamp information (PTS/DTS) of a previously detected picture and the value of the PATS counter are stored (ST500-ST510). When detecting the next time stamp information, an increase in the time stamp information is compared with an increase in the PATS counter (ST512-ST526). If the significant difference is exhibited (YES in ST600), it is determined that an error is found in the time stamp information value, and a recording process is performed (ST530).
