Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed regarding the reformatting tabular data in a browser on a client device received from a server. The browser on the client device is capable of being resized in a number of potential sizes—e.g., desktop browser viewport, laptop browser viewport, tablet browser viewport and mobile browser viewport. Tabular data may comprise main data, row data and associated column data. Depending on the browser viewport, one embodiment may dynamically position the tabular data so that the associated column data is displayed near its associated row data.

Abstract: A system and method for a computer implemented display of information organizes a visual screen display to a user in such a way that the user is able to efficiently select information content, and then be presented with topical associations relating to that content. The display enables selection of a particular information segment having an association with particular information content. A selected information segment has multiple topical associations with various categories and sub-categories of information. A user may navigate to a particular segment of information content, and then be presented with a string of topically related segments, as well as with one or more connecting categories of information, which may otherwise not have been readily apparent to the particular selected segment, but for the display system and method. One or more of the information segment indicators can optionally include a publication date and/or a source identifier.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for managing presentation of content to improve the content consumption experience as a user moves around or when there are multiple users. Based on user positions within a content consumption location and optionally on the layout of the location, presentation of content can be adjusted. The volume of audio content may be raised or lowered based on a user's position. Audio or visual content can be paused or stopped if a user leaves the location or the user's view is obstructed. When multiple users are consuming a content item, one or more users may have priority and any adjustment may be made to first improve the experience of the priority user. In some cases, no user has priority, and adjustments may be made to improve the experience of many or all users.

Abstract: Automatically classifying multimedia content that is specific to a video production includes obtaining, from a video sensor embedded in a video capturing device that captures a video, a time series of location data, direction data, orientation data, and a position of the first user and the second user, identifying for any given duration in the video, corresponding first user data, corresponding second user data, and corresponding video sensor data, annotating the video with the corresponding first user data, the corresponding second user data, and the corresponding video sensor data to obtain an annotated multimedia content, performing a comparison of a data pattern of the annotated multimedia content with data patterns of a script stored in a database to obtain a recommended section for the annotated multimedia content, and automatically classifying the annotated multimedia content by associating the annotated multimedia content with the recommended section.

Abstract: A method for providing a playlist, a remote controller applying the same, and a multimedia system are provided. The method for providing a playlist includes displaying a plurality of content lists of a plurality of kinds of contents in which contents of a same kind are arranged together, the plurality of content lists being displayed on a first area of a screen, if at least two different kinds of contents are selected from the plurality of content lists in a selecting, collecting the selected contents of the at least two different kinds of contents, and generating and displaying a playlist including play information regarding the collected contents of the at least two different kinds of contents.

Abstract: A multiphase interactive advertisement includes a first phase having a first graphical interface and a second phase having a second graphical interface including at least a streaming media component space. In an exemplary embodiment, the second phase has a dimension that is greater than a dimension of the first phase. The multiphase interactive advertisement further includes a streaming media component incorporated into the streaming media component space of the second phase. The multiphase interactive advertisement, and specifically, the streaming media component, is generated using a software player engine that includes a core set of player variables and controls.

Abstract: A selectable element or an element image associated with the element is displayed on a screen of a display unit. A representation of a person whose image is captured with a detection unit, or an indicator that moves in conjunction with a motion of the person is displayed on the screen. The element or the element image is moved so as to be driven out of the representation or the indicator thus displayed. The element is judged as selected based on a movement degree or a post-movement position of the element or the element image thus moved.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to switching tabs in an application. A system is configured to provide for the display an application interface. The application interface includes a toolbar and content associated with a first tab from a plurality of tabs open in the application. The system is further configured to receive, via an input device, a swipe gesture on the toolbar in the application interface and switch, in response to the receiving of the swipe gesture, from displaying in the application interface the content associated with the first tab to displaying content associated with a second tab in the plurality of tabs.

Abstract: A system for providing a local computer user with detailed activity information regarding remote users, in order to assist the local user in determining whether to initiate a communication session with a remote user. The system provides activity information that may describe the number of instant messaging sessions one or more remote users are currently involved in, the identities of participants in those sessions, activity levels, time period information, and other information. The system further provides detailed activity information describing recent instant messaging sessions of one or more remote users.

Abstract: A user interface through which information is proactively provided utilizes visual cues indicative of the relevance of the information that is being proactively provided. Such visual cues include sizing, color, intensity, movement, and other like visual attributes. A single discrete visual element proactively presents information to the user. The user is provided with the opportunity to define discrete events, whereby information associated with such events is presented through other discrete elements. The physical orientation of such discrete elements indicates relationships between elements. Ranking functionality identifies more immediately relevant information and the rankings of related elements are increased based upon other, contextual information with which such information is associated, and on which the importance of such information is based.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a notification when activity exceeds an authorization level are provided. A determination is made as to whether content currently being presented to a first user exceeds an authorization level associated with the first user. In response to determining that the content exceeds the authorization level, the content being presented is monitored to determine whether the content meets a criterion. An amount of time the content being presented meets the criterion is measured. In response to determining that the amount of time exceeds a threshold, a communication is transmitted to a second user indicating that the content currently being presented to the first user exceeds the authorization level.

Abstract: A method to synchronize data between a spreadsheet application and a marketplace application is disclosed. The method includes receiving a request to synchronize data items between the spreadsheet application and the marketplace application, the data items relating to a type of listing of items associated with the marketplace application. Additionally, the method includes executing a process to synchronize the data items between the spreadsheet application and the marketplace application, the process to include at least one of downloading one of the data items from the spreadsheet application and uploading one of the plurality of data items to the marketplace application, the executing of the process to occur independently of the executing of the spreadsheet application. Furthermore, the method includes displaying a status of the executing of the process in a native user interface element of the spreadsheet application.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for mapping addressable information (e.g. locations denoted by name or address, street addresses, landmarks, etc.) off of disparate applications on a mobile device, onto an existing map on the mobile device, are disclosed. An application on a mobile device may display addressable information (e.g. a website displaying a location name and/or address, an email containing an address, etc.) In response to a user's selecting the addressable information and invoking a mapping command, a map-display application (e.g. Google Maps®, Yahoo! Maps®, Windows Live Search Maps®, MapQuest®, iPhone® maps, Waze® etc.) may be automatically presented (e.g. launched, become visible, displayed, etc.) displaying the addressable information in addition to at least one prior mapping content previously displayed by the map-display application.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for displaying a screen on an electronic device. A locked screen is displayed on which at least one object is arranged. A location is determined on the locked screen at which event information corresponding to an event is displayed, based on an attribute of the at least one object, when the event occurs.

Abstract: A three dimensional virtual retail space representing a physical space for designing a retail store space layout is provided. A three dimensional virtual object representing at least one physical object for the retail space is provided. Input can be received from a virtual reality input interface for interacting with the virtual object in the virtual retail space. Based on the input, the virtual object can be placed in the virtual retail space. An updated video signal can be sent to a head mounted display that provides a three dimensional representation of the virtual object in the virtual space.

Abstract: In a system for dynamically and remotely providing user interface (UI) display and processing information to a touch panel embedded within a multifunction peripheral (MFP) such as a digital copier having an internal computer for controlling the touch panel, a method that comprises linking the internal computer to an external data communication network having an external remote computer on the network; and upon the inputting of desired selections by a user at the UI and communicating the same over the network to the external computer, providing information from the external computer via the network back to the internal computer that enables dynamically changing or updating the UI display and behavior during run time of the MFP.
