Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to location reporting for extremely high frequency (EHF) devices. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an apparatus for wireless communications. The apparatus generally includes a transmit interface configured to output a first frame for transmission to another apparatus at a first time, a receive interface configured to obtain, at a second time, a second frame transmitted by the other apparatus in response to the first frame, and a processing system configured to generate a third frame for transmission to the other apparatus via the transmit interface, the third frame including information indicating a difference between the first time and the second time and an indication of at least one of an angle of departure of the first frame or an angle of arrival of the second frame.

Abstract: A short-range wireless communication apparatus is disclosed. The short-range wireless communication apparatus comprises: multiple connection devices and a control device. The connection devices are capable of simultaneously connecting multiple communication interfaces to a communication counterparty apparatus to enable sound data transfer. When the control device determines that, in cases where the communication interfaces are communicably connected, there arises a request to start outputting the sound data transferred by one of the communication interfaces, the control device disconnects another one of the communication interfaces while keeping the one of the communication interfaces connected and causes a sound data output device to output the sound data transferred from the communication counterparty apparatus by the one of the communication interfaces.
Abstract: A method of operating a User Equipment (UE) enabled isolated Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) operation for public safety (IOPS) is provided. The method includes receiving, from an IOPS-capable eNodeB (eNB), a system information block (SIB) message including an IOPS public land mobile network (PLMN) identity; activating a dedicated IOPS universal subscriber identity module (USIM) application based on the IOPS PLMN identity; and authenticating the IOPS-capable eNB based on the dedicated IOPS USIM application.
Abstract: The present application aims to provide a method and device for managing a wireless access point (AP), so as to address the problem of the difficulty in identifying the actual owner of the wireless AP when multiple users share the password of the wireless AP. In particular, in the technical solution provided by the present application, wireless AP-related first authentication information of a first user is acquired, and then owner information of a wireless AP can be automatically determined according to ownership related information of the wireless AP and the first authentication information, thereby conveniently and efficiently determining an owner of the wireless AP. Furthermore, the owner information can be more accurately determined by reasonably configuring a priority level of the authentication information, so as to assign the ownership of the wireless AP to the actual owner.
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is directed to methods, systems and apparatuses enabling location sharing group formation and the tracking of group members. Groups may be bound by a geographical area that circumscribes the boundary of a location sharing group. Active members of a location sharing group may become active based on their relative location to the geographical area defining the location sharing group. The geographical area may be static, mobile or change size and shape based on parameters forming the location sharing group. Alerts may be generated informing members of the location sharing group of the entry or exit of members from the location sharing group. Active members of a location sharing group may share location information with other members of the location sharing group. A radius or other shape may identify a geographical area for location sharing between members.
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing security, monitoring, and control of mobile communications device activity including at least one mobile communication device with software operable thereon for receiving rules provided by an authorized user of the device(s) and in accordance with those rules administering actions to provide for controlling, monitoring, and security data stored or generated on the device(s), including logging data and activities related to the mobile communications device, blocking and filtering calls, messages, websites, emails, and combinations thereof, via wireless communication with a remote server computer having a corresponding software module operable thereon for managing and implementing the rules.
Abstract: A method includes, at a user equipment, combining a message requesting the radio resource connection and a message requesting at least one service into a single message. The single message is transmitted from the user equipment to a network element in a wireless network. Another method includes receiving, from a user equipment, a single message including both a message requesting a radio resource connection and a message requesting at least one service. In response to the message requesting radio resource connection, performing radio resource control connection establishment for the user equipment in order to establish the radio resource control connection between the user equipment and at least one of a plurality of network elements of a wireless network.
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, methods, computer program products and the like provide for updating the CE (Coverage Enhancement)-level of a User Terminal/Equipment (UE). The UE may be a NB-IoT (Narrow Band Internet of Things) device, a MTC (Machine Type Communication) device or any other device supporting CE. Embodiments of the invention implement UE selection/re-selection of random access resources and/or base station definition of CE configuration, allocation and/or re-allocation of resources between CE levels.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile communication system, and more particularly relates to a method for transmitting a small-sized control signal (also known as “small data”) using a control plane in a MTC (machine-type communication) service in a mobile communication system. In the present invention, MTC data is encapsulated in an existing control procedure or control message or the like, on a control signal, without performing packet data bearer setup, and the control signal having the encapsulated MTC data is sent between a network and a terminal, thereby optimizing network resource efficiency and reducing the wireless channel load.

Abstract: A subscriber device reports network operation conditions, such as network performance incidents, to receive feedback from the network related to the incident and available or possibly available solutions, and to produce network intelligence suitable for network planning and network performance enhancement. Reporting of network performance incidents can be characterized by location and time of occurrence, wherein this intelligence is provided by the user device. Feedback provided by the network is based on the network performance data received as part of reporting an incident. The reporting described herein enables a network operator to generate network planning intelligence based on actual network performance as experienced at the subscriber level.

Abstract: A method and system includes the ability for individuals to set up an ad hoc digital and voice network easily and rapidly to allow users to coordinate their activities by eliminating the need for pre-entry of data into a web or identifying others by name, phone numbers or email. This method is especially useful for police, fire fighters, military, first responders or other emergency situations for coordinating different organizations at the scene of a disaster to elevate conventional communication problems either up and down the chain of command or cross communication between different emergency units. The method and system provides that the users are only required to enter a specific Server IP address and an ad hoc event name, a password and perhaps the name of the particular unit.

Abstract: Screen time-outs on a portable electronic device can be customized based on user activity. In one aspect, a sensing component receives data from one or more sensors located on the portable electronic device, for example, skin conductivity sensors and determines whether the user is using the portable device, either actively or passively and also determines the identity of the user. A configuring component is employed to change one or more features or functions of the portable electronic device based on the information determined by the sensing component. In particular, the configuring component changes one of more features of the portable electronic device based on the preferences predefined by the identified user and device usage (active and passive usage).

Abstract: Disclosed in one embodiment of the present invention is a method for a user staying in a first country to be authorized in advance, before entering a second country which is different from the first country, to use a network service on a user terminal in the second country, without buying a local USIM after arriving in the second country or using a roaming service.
Abstract: A method for managing link failure, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving a link failure report (LFR) for notifying that a link between user equipment and an base station of a second RAT has been disassociated; requesting an entity of a first RAT, which manages interworking between the first RAT and the second RAT, to switch a flow of downlink data for the user equipment, which is to be transmitted to the base station of the second RAT, to a base station of the first RAT; establishing a direct tunnel between the base station of the first RAT and the base station of the second RAT by using an identifier of the base station of the second RAT, which is included in the LFR of the user equipment; and relaying the downlink data for the user equipment, which has been buffered in the base station of the second RAT up to before the switch of the flow after the disassociation of the link, from the base station of the second RAT to the user equipment.
