  • Patent number: 10924774
Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a live streaming interaction system including: a server, an anchor terminal and at least one viewer terminal that have a first communication connection to the server, and intelligent hardware having a second communication connection to the anchor terminal. The server receives a first control request from the viewer terminal, generate a corresponding second control request, and sends the second control request to the anchor terminal. The anchor terminal forwards the second control request to the intelligent hardware. The intelligent hardware then performs a corresponding operation according to the second control request and returns live streaming data to the viewer terminal through the server. As such, the intelligent hardware can support a live streaming process between a user at the anchor terminal and a user at the viewer terminal that can remotely control the intelligent hardware by using the viewer terminal.

  • Patent number: 10893328
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to address shortcomings in conventional media systems via a novel technique to prevent corruption of a user's viewing profile. In some aspects, a user of an interactive media guidance application may select a media asset for viewing on a user device. The interactive media guidance application may receive a user viewing profile for the user from a remote server. If the media asset is determined to not be consistent with the user viewing profile, the interactive media guidance application may retrieve another user viewing profile for another user of the user device. If the media asset is determined to be consistent with the other user viewing profile, the interactive media guidance application may update the other user viewing profile based on the media asset.

  • Patent number: 10873774
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for publishing a disparate live media output stream manifest that includes one or more media segments corresponding to key events. The system comprises one or more processors that generate a programming schedule, based on a synchronization of one or more disparate sub-systems in the system, includes one or more key events that occurred from a starting point until a current live point in a live input stream. Further, a reference clock provides a reference time to synchronize the one or more disparate sub-systems. Based on the programming schedule, one or more processors insert the current live point and one or more media segments corresponding to the one or more key events that occurred prior to the current live point included in a live input stream manifest into a disparate live media output stream manifest, which is further published based on the insertion.

  • Patent number: 10869088
Abstract: A video quality assessment method includes obtaining a video quality assessment parameter of a to-be-assessed video, where the video quality assessment parameter of the to-be-assessed video includes an average packet loss gap of the to-be-assessed video, determining packet loss dispersion of the to-be-assessed video based on the video quality assessment parameter of the to-be-assessed video, and determining quality of the to-be-assessed video based on a packet loss rate of the to-be-assessed video, an average consecutive packet loss length of the to-be-assessed video, the packet loss dispersion of the to-be-assessed video, and attribute information of the to-be-assessed video. Therefore, during video quality assessment, impact of packet loss distribution indicated by the packet loss dispersion on the video quality is considered.

  • Patent number: 10863231
Abstract: A media guidance application is provided by which users can view program listings associated with programming that the user may access using other user equipment devices. The media guidance application, implemented on, for example, a remote system, may determine through communications with television equipment whether or not the television equipment is authorized to provide a particular package of television programming to be viewed by the user. For example, an online program guide application may determine whether or not television equipment allows a user to view particular channels and, based on that determination, proceed to determine what packages of programming the user subscribes to. A customized program guide may then be displayed based on what programming the user subscribes to on various systems.

  • Patent number: 10848832
Abstract: A machine detects a set of first control operations and, in response, causes a display screen to present a graphical interface in which a central window suggests first content by presenting a first preview and a first identifier superimposed on the first preview. The machine then detects a second control operation that indicates dismissal of the first content. In response to the second control operation, the machine causes the display screen to present a transition to an interest-improved version of the graphical interface. The transition includes sliding the first preview, the first identifier, a second preview, and a second identifier together in a shared direction and at a shared speed within the central window. The second preview and the second identifier correspond to second content. In the interest-improved version of the graphical interface, the central window suggests the second content by presenting the second preview and the second identifier.
